1 Overview
1.1 About This Chapter
This chapter provides a brief description of the MU609 LGA module development kit
(DVK), including:
Introduction to the DVK
Components of the DVK
In the following chapters and sections, "module" refers to the MU609 LGA module; "DVK"
refers to the MU609 LGA module development kit.
1.2 Introduction to the DVK
The DVK provides a complete solution based on the data functions of the module.
For designers who adopt the module in their designs, the DVK facilitates their
module-based programming and troubleshooting at the project development stage.
The DVK consists of two development boards, which are named as ME0MC509M
and MD0MC609TM respectively.
Consisting of a dedicated interface board and accessories, the DVK provides the
following interfaces:
One USB interface
Two standard RS-232 interfaces: one is 2-line (UART1) and the other is 8-line
(UART0).
One monitor RS-232 interface which monitored the UART0.
Standard Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card interface
Three antenna connectors

Check the components and their quantities after you obtain the DVK. If any
component is missing or damaged, contact with your DVK supplier.

2.1 About This Chapter
This chapter describes how to install and use the LGA module's DVK.
2.2 Setting Up the DVK
Please install the DVK kit by the following instructions.
1. The interface board is ME0MC509M as shown in the following figure. The
MU609 LGA module is soldered to this board.

2. The mother board is the universal board for the different LGA modules with silk-
screen of MD0MC609TM as shown in the following figure.
3. The two boards must be assembled together to achieve the function of the DVK.

The DVK will be provided to you just as above, so you have no need to do the assembling by
yourself.
4. Connect the USB cable to the Micro USB port on the mother board of the DVK.
The LGA module can be supplied power directly.
5. Before turn on the module, insert a SIM card into the SIM card slot (if
communication is required).
