The HUAWEIE220 USB Modemisaterminalavailableforhigh-speed wireless
network access,withwhichthe userscan accessthe Internetinthe wireless wayat
home,office,outdoorsitesand soon.It isdesigned incompliancewiththe
HSDPA/UMTS(3GPPR99 &R5)and EDGE/GPRS(3GPPR99)specifications.It
sensesthe signalstrengthofthe HSDPA/UMTSand EDGE/GPRSnetwork on a
real-timebasis,and allowsuserstochoosethe network freely.The HUAWEIE220 USB
Modemdeliversan access rateup to3.6Mbpson the HSDPA,or384kbpson the UMTS,
or236.8kbpson the EDGE,or85.6kbpson the GPRSnetwork.Atthe sametime,it
supportsshort message services.
The HUAWEI E220 USB Modemisconnected toaportablecomputerorPCbyaUSB
interface.Inthe serviceareasorhotspotsofHSDPA/UMTS,the HuaweiE220 USB
Modemmayaccess the Internetoverthe network totransferand download filesordata.
You can alsobrowseweb-site,send and receivemessagesand emailsat anytimeand
place.Even when outof the HSDPA/UMTScoverage,you can stillenjoyserviceson
the Internetwithan alternativeaccess through the EDGE/GPRS/GSMnetwork inyour
country.Theuserscan enjoymuchmoreinexperiencing the wireless network due to

The HUAWEIE220USB Modemsupportscircuitdomaindataservicebased on
UMTS/GSMand packetdomaindataservicebased onHSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GPRS.
Afterconnectthe USB Modemand the computerwithaUSB cable; install E220 USB
Modemdriveand corresponding modemon the computer; configAPNand set up link,
ausermaysend/receiveEmails,browsethe Internet,and download filesthrough an
established wireless datachannel.
Packetdataserviceisusuallylaunched byentering "*99#"or"*98#".Ausermay
chooseanetwork type (3Gpreferred,GPRS/EDGEpreferred,3Gonly,GPRS/EDGE
only) on the "ChooseConnection Type"ofthe dashboard.The operating procedurefor
the circuitdataserviceand packet dataservicearealmostthe samewiththe exception
oftheiraccess numbers.You shouldconsultthe localserviceproviderforthe access
number.

The HUAWEIE220 USBModemsupportsSMS servicebased on CSand PS domainof
GSMand UMTS.BySMSsettingsofthe dashboard,ausermaychooseabearing
domain(packet domainorcircuit domain)forsending messages.
The HUAWEIE220 USB Modemsupportsmessage writing,sending and receiving,
and group transmission of messagestoup to20 phonenumberssimultaneously. The
dashboardprovidespowerfulmessagemanagementfunction,including setting Outbox,
Inbox,Draftbox,Trashboxand Reportbox;sorting byphone numberorbytime;
exchanging SMSinformation between the dashboardand aUSIM/SIMcard.
