Dolphin II
Intended use
The Dolphin II commode/shower chair is a
mobile, electric height adjustable lng com-
mode/shower chair. This chair is intended for
carrying out daily personal hygiene acvies
such as washing, showering, toileng, changing
and dressing in the most comfortable manner.
While the client is sing in a relaxed, possibly
lted posion, the opmal height adjustment
funcon prevents the caregiver from having to
stoop unnecessarily. The Dolphin II is a mobile
unit and can be used to transport a client over
a short distance indoors. Because of its small
turning radius, the Dolphin II is also suitable for
small spaces.
The seat can be raised and lowered using the
hand control, in order to achieve the opmum
height for working and in relaon to toilet visits.
The motor of the chair raises, lowers or lts the
client. This means that the Dolphin II has a large
range: low for easy entry and high to reach the
correct working height (hip height) for the care-
giver, so that even the personal hygiene care of
the lower body and lower extremies can be
carried out at hip height.
The seat and backrest lt as one, keeping
the ergonomic hip angle of 90° and allowing
the client to remain stable while seated. The
electrically operated lt moves seamless from
-5° to +26°. This makes it easy to nd a safe
and comfortable posion using only one hand
while the client is showering and without any
eort either by the client or the caregiver. This
chair also has a forward -5° lt. This forward lt
means it is easier for the client to stand up from
or sit down into the chair.

The Dolphin II has a headrest that can be ad-
justed in terms of height, depth and angle. The
bowl-shaped headrest means that the client
can rest their head securely and comfortably on
the headrest.
The height of the footplate can be adjusted
to provide correct foot support for the client.
The footplate has an an-slip coang to make
it easier to keep the feet on the footplate. The
footplate can be folded up so that it does not
get in the way of a transfer in/out of the chair.
The chair can be posioned over most toilets
(especially a wall hung toilet, so that the cistern
is not in the way) and can also be used with a
toilet bucket.
Due to its compact size, the Dolphin II is ideal
for use in small spaces, both at home – narrow
doorways and toilets/bathrooms – as well as in
healthcare instuons where other necessary
medical devices can oen cluer an area. The
chair is easy to maneuver thanks to the large,
high-quality twin castors. The four castors make
it possible to move the chair over short distanc-
es indoors, e.g. from bed to bathroom and vice
versa. Double brakes on the castors ensure a
stable posion during personal hygiene acvi-
es and during transfers into/out of the chair.
This, and many other factors, make Dolphin II, a
durable quality product. This commode/shower
chair is used in private homes, care instuons,
nursing homes, hospitals, but also in swimming
pools and mul-sensory smulaon rooms.
This product may not be used under
water, such as in a bath or swimming
pool.
The chair can be adjusted to the
height of the user by adjusng the
neck/headrest and footplate.

Only trained professionals can make the deci-
sion whether or not this product is appropriate
to use. This product can only be used under
the supervision of a caregiver. Never leave the
client unaended.
If you do not understand any of the warnings,
safety precauons or instrucons, please
contact a care provider, distributor or technical
sta member (if applicable) before aempng
to use this product. Using this product without
having the proper knowledge may result in
injury or damage.
Disconnect the product and re-
move the baery during mainte-
nance work.
Only use the parts that are sup-
plied with the product. Only use
spare parts supplied by Human
Care.
Do not touch parts of the products
that may have an electrical current
(leakage) at the same me as the
paent.
Product modicaons are not
permied. Maintenance and
servicing may only be carried out
by qualied personnel.
The maximum safe working load is

General maintenance and use
This product may only be used by
qualied personnel.
In certain circumstances, more than
one caregiver may be necessary to
assist a parcular client.
This product is for indoor use only. It is
not suitable for use in areas with high
humidity, extreme temperature or
high pressure environments.
Before using the product with a client,
it is strongly recommended to pracce
using the product with colleague-care-
givers, unl the caregiver feels com-
fortable using the product.
The Dolphin II may only be used on an
even, clean and hard-oored surfaces
that are free of obstacles. The product
should never be used on a sloping
oor or ramp.
The client’s abilies should be as-
sessed before using this product. Only
use this product for its intended use.
The Dolphin II is designed to support
only one client at a me. Never use
the product to li a client and an item
of furniture at the same me.
A specialist must approve use of the
product for a specic client and this
must be recorded in wring.
The correct type, size, material and
design of accessories must be carefully
selected by an expert, taking into
account the safety and needs of the
client.
Always charge baeries in a well-ven-
lated room. Check the charger
regularly.
Only use other Human Care products
with the Dolphin II.
Check the Dolphin II before each use to make sure it is not damaged in any
way. Do not use the Dolphin II if there are signs of wear and tear or damage
on any part of the chair.

Warning!
Certain condions and surroundings may limit
the use of the devices, e.g. thresholds, uneven
surfaces, obstacles and deep-pile carpet. These
condions and surroundings may prevent the
castors of the commode/shower chair from
working properly, may cause the commode/
shower chair to become unstable and/or may
make it harder for the caregiver to use. If you
are not sure whether your care environment
meets the requirements for proper use of the
product, please contact Human Care for advice.
Make sure that ngers, hair, toes, etc. cannot
get caught between the moving parts as these
can become trapped when adjusng the posi-
on of the chair.

is available to those persons using the product.
CAUTION!
The assembled seang unit may only be raised by the li actuator. Manually liing the
seang unit could damage the li actuator.
Do not use the product in an environment where other radio frequency eming
devices are used. Like any other electronic device, the product can use and emit radio
frequency energy. If the product is not used in accordance with the instrucons in the
user manual, it may cause interference with nearby devices. The manufacturer cannot
guarantee that interference will not occur in a parcular locaon. In order to check
if the product is the source of any interference, change its locaon or disconnect the
baery. If you sll noce or suspect a fault, please try the following:
• Move the li to another locaon;
• Increase the distance between devices;
• Contact the service-desk.

Parts
1. Handcontrol
The push buons on the hand control allow
for the height and lt of the chair to be
adjusted, also shows the baery and service
indicators. The hand control can be stored
by hanging it on the push handle.
2. Headrest
PUR (polyurethane) headrest that is height,
depth and angle-adjustable in order to pro-
vide opmal support of the neck and head.
3. Seat
Removable PUR seat with in integrated rail
for a toilet bucket.
4. Foot plate
Safe support of the client’s feet, can be
folded up and height-adjustable.
5. Castors,front(onbothsides)
Twin castors, with brakes.
6. Chassis
The chassis support the seat and has 4
castors. There are 2 actuators for adjusng
the height of the seat.

Descripon of parts
Handcontrol
The Dolphin commode/shower chair has a hand
control with the following funcons:
1. Baerycharge
The baery charge indicator has three status
indicaons. The baery charge indicator is
yellow or green unl switched o (2 minutes
aer use).
Baery status
For a full descripon, see page 18.
2. Service indicator
The service indicator (yellow indicator)
ashes when it is me to carry out a service.
The default seng is every 12 months /
8000 liing cycles (as recommended by the
EN17966:2016 standard), whichever comes
rst. When it is me for a service, the service
indicator stays on for 2 minutes aer use. It
is then switched o to save baery life. The
system is sll funconal when the service
indicator is on.
3. Overload indicator
When there is an overload, according to the
predened power interrupon, the two LED
lights will ash for 10 seconds.
4. Up arrow

Emergency stop
In the event of an emergency, immediately
press the emergency stop buon.
Turn the buon clockwise to unlock the emer-
gency stop.
Electricemergencyloweringfuncon
If the buon on the hand control for lowering
the li arm does not work, you can use the
electric emergency lowering funcon. This can
be acvated by using a pointed object (e.g. a
pen) to press the small buon on the con-
trol box. You will hear an audible click. Keep
pressing the buon unl the required height
has been reached.
Mechanicalemergencyloweringfuncon
If the emergency lowering funcon via the
control box does not work, use the mechanical
lowering funcon. This will safely lower the
client in the event of a fault in the electrical sys-
tem. Lowering can be done manually by using
the lever located on the lower part of the main
cylinder. To operate, grasp the red part and pull
it up. Allow the li arm to lower unl the user
can be safely removed from the li.
Cauon!
Aer using the mechanical or electrical emer-
gency lowering funcon, you must immediately
contact your distributor to schedule a visit by
a service technician. The product may only be
used again aer an authorized employee has
carried out an inspecon of the product.

Baery
Installing and removing the baery
Cauon!
Do not use the li for at least one hour before
replacing the baery.
Never expose the baery to extreme tempera-
tures.
Never leave the baery charger in damp/humid
areas.
Installingthebaery:
• Align the boom of the baery with the top
of the controller.
• Push the top of the baery forward unl you
hear a click. The baery is now in place.
• Gently push the top of the baery forward
to make sure it is securely aached to the
holder.
Removingthebaery
• Press the red emergency stop buon.
• Hold the baery by the handle and press the
release lever.
• Remove the baery by liing it o the
holder.

Cauon!
• The product cannot be used while charging.
• During charging, the funcons are locked.
• Do not use the li for one hour aer
charging. This will prolong the life of the
baery.
• The baery needs to be charged connuous-
ly for at least 24 hour,
in the following situaons:
a) Before using the li for the rst me.
b) Before being placed in storage (up to
3 months) without a power supply
connecon.
c) Immediately aer a storage period.
Baerychargeindicator
The baery charge indicator has three status
indicaons. The baery indicators are either
yellow or green unl switched o (2 minutes
aer use).
Baerystatus1:
The baery is full (100-50%) – no recharging
required: the third indicator is green.
Baerystatus2:
The baery is okay (50-25%) – recharging re-
quired: the second indicator is yellow.
Baerystatus3:
The baery is low (less than 25%) – recharging
required: the rst indicator is yellow and a buzz-
er sounds whenever a buon is pressed.
Baerystatus4:
The baery requires recharging. Some funcons
of the li are lost and it is only possible to lower
the li arm. When in connued use, the indica-
tor ashes and an audio signal is emied.

Chargingthebaery
If you need to charge the baery, you need to:
• Press the emergency stop buon
• Connect the black charging cable that is sup-
plied to the control box
• Then insert the plug into a wall socket that is
located in a dry room.
When the rechargeable baery is connected,
the LED display on the control box will come on.
The green LED indicates that the baery char-
ger is connected to the mains. The yellow LED
indicates the charging process. It takes approxi-
mately 5 hours to fully charge the baery.

(oponal).
You can always purchase an external charger,
for example to have a spare baery to hand.
To charge the baery, it needs to be inserted in
the external charging staon. Ensure that the
baery is properly inserted into the charging
staon. A light will come on if it is aached
correctly.
If the baery emits a short beep, it needs to
be charged. If a green light comes on when
the baery is inserted, the baery is full. If the
orange light comes on, the baery needs to
be charged. Charging will stop automacally
when the baery is full. This means you cannot
overcharge the baery. It is best to charge the
baery every night.
The external charger can be easily mounted
by means of the wall mounng plate. It can be
mounted on the wall near a 230 V socket.
We always recommend you purchase a spare
baery, so that you always have access to a full
baery. If one baery is empty, you can conn-
ue to work using the second baery.

Headrest
The Dolphin II has an adjustable PUR headrest
to provide reassuring support and stability for
the client’s neck and head. When the client is
seated in a backwards lted posion, the head
rest is necessary.
The picture shows that the headrest has four
aachment points which are aached by a star
knob. To adjust the height, unscrew the knob
(1) and simply pull it out. Adjust to the required
height, e.g. at the level of the client's ears, and
then ghten the knob.
To adjust the depth and angle of the headrest,
unscrew the relevant knob (2), then ghten
the knob once the headrest is in the preferred
posion.
Toilet seat with transport cover
The Dolphin II has a removable PUR seat, which
makes it easier to clean the surface and frame.
To place the seat, slide the seat at an angle on
the frame and push unl it clicks into place.
To remove the seat, pull up the front of the seat
and slide it in the direcon of the footplate.
Armrests
The Dolphin II has two armrests with PUR
elements, which provide comfortable support
to the lower arm. The armrests connue around
the front so that the client has a secure sup-
port, which is useful when it is necessary for the
client to lean forward to receive personal care.
This design also makes the client feel safe. The
armrests are there when needed, but can be
easily folded up so that they do not get in the
way of a transfer in/out of the chair.

The transport cover is placed on the toilet
seat to cover the seat opening. This is to
improve the client's comfort.
