1 General
Before you use this product for the first time, read this manual
at least up to the chapter "Operation". If you would like to carry
out maintenance or troubleshooting, you can find the
procedure in the respective chapters.
The use and the handling of the product as well as its use are
not self-explanatory and are described in detail in this manual.
This manual will help you to use the product as intended,
properly, effectively, and safely. Please refer to it every time
you require specific details or actions.

The diagrams and visualizations in this manual are meant for
general illustration purposes. Therefore, representations and
functional options can deviate from the delivered product.
We reserve the right to make changes to the contents of this

delivery. They are made available to you at the conclusion of
the contract at the latest. In addition, you will find these under

2 Safety information
The product is designed as safe. In spite of that, there is
danger in some actions that can only be avoided by using the
right procedures.
These correct procedures and points, which must be followed,
are described in this manual.
2.1 Observing environmental precautions
Take all measures to protect the environment. Ensure that no
operating medium is released into the environment (soil or
water).

3 Product and technical specifications
The ConditionSensorInterface CSI-C-11 is an easy-to-use and
compact Condition Monitoring system for fluid-oriented
machine condition monitoring.
Depending on the device configuration, up to two
HYDACHSISMART (fluid) and four analog sensors can be
connected to the CSI-C-11 using M12 connectors and supplied
with voltage. Once the sensor values and signals have been
read, they are stored on the integrated data logger, evaluated
in terms of their plausibility and monitored to check whether
limit values have been exceeded. Limit values are set
depending on the measured variable with the aid of a wizard
and, if the limit values are exceeded, the CSI-C-11 will auto-
matically send out an alarm by e-mail or via the integrated
Ethernet and fieldbus interface (Modbus®). Furthermore, they
enable measured values to be transmitted to the higher-level
company networks, condition monitoring systems (Condition-
Monitoring ) or control systems (PLC) as well as to the
HYDACCMX (cloud).
The special features of the CSI-C-11 are:
– Input channels for two HYDACHSISMART (fluid) sensors
and four analog sensors (optional)
– Direct connection of sensors and network cables using
M12x1 connectors
– Transmission and display of the measured sensor values
via W-LAN, Ethernet (LAN) and field bus (Modbus®)
– Measured data storage in the CSI-C-11
– Wizard to set alarm limits for fluid sensors
– Notification by e-mail or via the network in the event of an
alarm
– Transmission of measured data to the HYDACCMX
(cloud)
– High protection class with IP66, installation of a switch
cabinet not required

3.1 Scope of delivery
The ConditionSensorInterface is packaged and delivered in a
ready-to-use, preset condition. Before commissioning the unit,
check the contents of the package for completeness.

3.3 Proper/Designated Use
Use the ConditionSensorInterface CSI-C-11 only for the appli-
cation described below.
Depending on the device type, the ConditionSensorInterface
CSI-C-11 serves to implement digital (HSISMART sensors
with HydacSensorInterface HSI) and analog sensors signals
(e.g. 4…20mA) in multiple network protocols (e.g. HSITCP/
IP and Modbus® TCP) and fieldbus protocols (e.g. Modbus®
RTU) which can be transmitted both by cable (LAN) and wire-
lessly (W-LAN) to stationary (e.g. desktop PC) and mobile
devices (e.g. smartphone). Furthermore, the CSI-C-11 has an
internal memory with which the interface can also be used as a
data logger. Depending on the device type, for example, you
could connect two HSISMART sensors and four analog
sensors.

3.4 Improper Use or Use Deviating from Intended Use
Improper use or use deviating from intended use may result in
hazards and/or will damage the sensor. Examples of improper
use or use deviating from intended use include:
– Operating with sensors that are not permitted.
– Operating with more than two HSISMART sensors.
– Operating with more than four permitted analog sensors.
– Modifications to the interface made by the user or
purchaser.
