Note: This document is intended to guide professional electricians and installers through the use and on-site
installation of the Hydra home dynamic load balancer.
If you use the equipment in a manner other than described in this manual or other related documents, death,
injury and property damage could occur.
The home load balancer can maintain the dynamic balance of the total household current, to ensure the safety
of electricity consumption, and to avoid the overload of household electricity when the chargpoint is charging.
A home load balancer consists of a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter needs to be installed at the main
incoming line of the household power supply to transmit the sensed current data to the receiver. The receiving
end is located inside the household AC chargepoint (the chargepoint needs to be purchased additionally), and
receives the data from the transmitting end.

SETTING UP THE APP
AFTER THE PAIRING IS COMPLETED
1Please scan the corresponding QR code to download the HYDRA HOME app and complete the registration.
ANDROID IPHONE
2Pair the Hydra Home App to the Zodiac Chargepoint and set up according to instructions in the app manual:
www.hydraev.co.uk/support
Note: Professionals must conrm the maximum load capacity of the family and set the corresponding value.
When the household power supply is single-phase power supply, only one transformer (CT) is used, and the
household load balancer starts to work when the total electricity consumption current of the household needs
to exceed 20A. When the current is less than 20A, the home load balancer remains off.
When the household power supply is three-phase power supply, three transformers (CT) are used, and the
household load balancer starts to work when the total household power current needs to exceed 10A. When
the current is less than 10A, the home load balancer remains off.

TROUBLESHOOTING
Fault state RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
Equalizer light is off
Check whether the front-end charging transformer is good or
bad and whether the connection is correct; check whether the
input current reaches the minimum current value required for
work.
The equalizer light is on, but there is no
communication
Check whether the pairing is successful; check whether the
distance between the transmitter and receiver is too far or there
are many obstacles; check whether the charging pile is powered
on; check whether the APP is set correctly.
Still tripping after using equalizer Check whether the maximum current set on the APP is correct.
Unable to pair
Check whether the pairing operation is correct; check whether
the transmitter and receiver are in pairing mode; check whether
the distance between the transmitter and receiver is too far or
there are many obstacles.
