Introduction
Quick Start Guide (QSG)
This Quick Start Guide (QSG) is designed for users to quickly
understand the iW-RainboW-G36S Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC
Single Board Computer (SBC) and start the evaluation. It
provides the instructions for setting-up the Single Board
Computer from the packed box.
SBC Overview
g Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC (ZU5/ZU4/ZU3/ZU2) - upto 256K LBS
The iW-RainboW-G36S Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC SBC is an Off-
the-self board which contains all necessary interfaces & on-
board connectors required for a complete embedded
application. This board can be used as it is for wide range of
applications.

Must use a ESD ground strap or other
grounded source before unpacking or
handling the hardware.

Quick Start Guide
Step 1 - Unpacking
Remove the SBC from antistatic cover and place it above the
ESD free area. Use anti-static pad/mat with proper grounding
to place the SBC. Don't touch inside surface of the circuit board.

Quick Start Steps
Avoid using board in extreme dust, humidity and temperature
conditions. Also this SBC is not water proof. Keep away from
wet surface.

Step 8 - Debug Port Setting
iW-RainboW-G36S Zynq Ultrascale+ MPSoC (ZU5/ZU4/ZU3/
ZU2) SBC is tested with below mentioned UART to USB cable for
debug UART.
Part Number: TL-232R-RPI from FTDI
Install the driver for Debug Port in Host PC/Laptop using the
below link.

Connect TypeA end of TTL-232R-RPI cable to PC and 3 pin
(100mil) Berg house end of TTL-232R-RPI cable to SBC's Debug
UART Connector (J14) as shown below .

Step 9 - Power-ON The SBC
Connect the 12V power supply plug to the power connector
(J18) of the SBC as shown below and switch ON the power
supply.
Warning :
1. Contact iWave if power status LED is not glowing or PS Error status LEDs
are glowing.
Once power is applied to the SBC, the power LED in SBC will
glow as shown in the below image.
PS Error Status LED : Indicates a secure lockdown state.
Power LED : Power to the board is stable
PS Error OUT LED : Asserted for accidental loss of power, a
hardware error, or an exception in the MPSoC PMU.

Command Prompt(Linux)
Step 10 - Test Environment Setup
Once power is applied to the SBC as explained in the previous
section, boot messages being displayed in the debug terminal
of the PC/Laptop which is connected to the SBC. Press any key
in terminal immediately to see the command prompt of the
Boot loader or wait until OS boots.
After OS boots, Login prompt being displayed in the debug
terminal. Enter username and password as “root” to get the
Linux command prompt as shown below.

optionally supports Fansink for SBC which can be used as
cooling solution.
