1.
This
manual
contains
important
safety
and
operating
instructions
for
rapid
charger
MODEL
BC-15.
2.
Before
using
the
BC-15,
read
all
instructions
and
cautionary
markings
on
the
BC-15,
battery,
and
product
using
battery.
3.CAUTION
To
reduce
risk
of
injury,
charge
only
Nickel
Cadmium
type
rechargeable
batteries
PB-13
and
PB-14.
Other
types
of
batteries
may
burst
causing
personal
injury
and
damage.

Do
not
expose
the
BC-15
to
rain
or
snow.

Use
of
an
attachment
not
recommended
or
sold
by
KENWOOD
may
result
in
a
risk
of
fire,
electric
shock,
or
injury
to
persons.
6.
To
reduce
risk
of
damage
to
electric
plug
and
cord,
pull
by
plug
rather
than
cord
when
disconnecting
charger.
7.
Make
sure
cord
is
located
so
that
it
will
not
be
stepped
on,
tripped
over,
or
otherwise
subjected
to
damage
or
stress.
8.
An
extension
cord
should
not
be
used

unless
absolutely
necessary.
Use
of
improper
extension
cord
could
result

a

wire

should
be

AWG.

Do
not
operate
the
BC-15
with
damaged
cord
or
plug-replace
them
immediately.
10.
Do
not
operate
the
BC-15
if it
has
received
a
sharp
blow,
been
dropped,
or
otherwise
damaged
in
any
way;
take
it
to
a
qualified
serviceman.
11.
Do
not
disassemble
the
BC-15;
take
it
to
a
qualified
serviceman
when
service
or
repair
is
required.
Incorrect
reassembly
may
result
in
a
risk
of
electric
shock
or
fire.
12.
To
reduce
risk
of
electric
shock,
unplug
the
BC-15
from
outlet
before
attempting
any
maintenance
or
cleaning.
Turning
off
controls
will
not
reduce
this

center

the
BC-15

power
supply

optional
(PG-2W)
DC
cord.

OPERATING
INSTRUCTIONS
CHARGING
1.
Plug
the
AC
cord
into
an
AC
outlet.
2.
Interconnect
the
DC
plug
to
the
AC
ADAPTER
terminal.
3.

Charging
with
the
battery
attached
to
the
transceiver.
Turn
the
transceiver’s
power
switch
off.
Inserting
the
transceiver
into
the
charger.

Fit
the
NiCd
battery
with
the
holder
before
inserting
the
pack
into
the
charger
(except

proper

adapter

an
AC
outlet
after
the

battery
has
reached
full
charge.
CAUTIONS
1.
The
BC-15
is
for
charging
the
battery
only.
Do
not
attempt
to
operate
the
radio
while
it
is
inserted
into
the
charger
and
the
power
switch
is
turned
ON.
2.
For
operator
safety,
do
not
charge
the
transceiver
in
the
mobile.
3.
For
this
product
use
the
attached
AC
adaptor
(conforming
to
EIAJ.
with
plug
of
unified
polarity
type).
Use
of
other
AC
adaptor
may
induce
troubles.

MAINTENANCE
INSTRUCTIONS
1.
Do
not
use
the
BC-15
in
high-temperature
or
high-
humidity
environments,
in
direct
sunlight,
or
near
a
heater.
2.
Do
not
subject
the
BC-15
to
undue
vibrations
or
impact.
3.
Make
sure
that
the
NiCd
battery
pack,
the
BC-15,
and
the
power
source
are
properly
installed
and
connected.
4.
Clean
both
terminals
of
the
NiCd
battery
packs
and
the
BC-15
with
a
soft
cloth
before
charging.
5.
NEVER
USE
SOLVENTS
SUCH
AS
THINNER
AND
BENZINE
FOR
CLEANING.

Discontinue
charging
after
the
battery
has
been
fully

pack

water

open
