Preface This chapter describes information with which the
field service engineer should become familiar
before proceeding with installation.

1. To avoid accidents, only personnel properly trained and authorized by the manufacturer should remove covers
or touch internal parts.
2. The DRYPRO 771 incorporates a laser beam device (Class 3b). Direct exposure of the skin or eyes to the laser
beam may cause serious damage. Always use protective goggles when carrying out repairs or adjustments.
3. Under no circumstances should any attempts be made to carry out operational procedures or adjustments other
than those described in this manual: exposure to harmful radiation may result.
4. To ensure safety while using or working on the DRYPRO 771, cautions shown on warning labels must be
observed at all times.
5. The DRYPRO 771 contains internal parts that carry high voltage that may cause electrocution if touched.
Extreme caution must be exercised at all times.
6. Be careful to avoid parts of the body or clothing becoming trapped or entangled in moving parts such as fans.
7. The DRYPRO 771 weighs approximately 155kg(without stand) / 175kg (with stand).
Ensure that there is sufficient work space when carrying out unpacking or installation work.
8. Electrical circuitry in the DRYPRO 771 may be damaged by static electricity. Due care must be exercised when
handling the main body or any electrical parts removed during repair work.
9. The DRYPRO 771 power supply must be switched off when removing circuit boards, disconnecting or
connecting connectors or cables. Under no circumstances should such procedures be carried out with the
power supply switched on: doing so may result in serious accidents.
10. A wrist band must always be worn when handling circuit boards.
11. The DRYPRO 771 incorporates a lithium battery. Improper replacement of the battery may cause damage: only
a qualified service engineer may carry out this procedure.
12. The DRYPRO 771 is a Class-1 laser device furnished with interlocks. The procedures described in this manual
must be followed when disengaging interlocks.
13. Be certain to comply with any and all laws and government regulations including electric codes and utility
regulations, regarding the installation and operation of this equipment.

Example of Basic Configuration (4ch)
1.2 Connection Configuration with External Devices
Connection configuration of the DRYPRO 771 are set out below.
Normally, maximum 4 channels of external devices can be connected to the DRYPRO 771. (basic
configuration)
However, when 4 channels are not sufficient, maximum 8 channels can be connected with some conditions.
(expanded port configuration)
Connection configuration and its features of each are described in the following.
1.2.1 Basic Configuration
Basic configuration allows maximum 4 channels of connection for external devices. When
connecting the third party device, multi-client license shall be required for second channel and
after.

1.2.2 Expansion Port Configuration
Conditions
In expansion port configuration, 3ch of basic configuration and expansive 5ch, total of 8 ch can be connected.
The expansion port configuration of 5ch is enabled by allocating maximum 5ch to the 1 channel of the basic
configuration, thus conditions listed below should be applied to the device connecting to this channel.
1. Available expansion channels : 5ch
2. Connectable device type : KDIS devices (RS Series, IS Series, Liteview)
REGIUS Series (only for back up set up)
3. Processing capacity : Devices that process maximum 20 sheets of film per day.
4. Limitation of setting : On the device connected to the expansion 5ch, it is not possible to set
LUT or PRINT CONDITION ("S20", "U30") for each device. For these
devices, settings are limited to "LUT fixed" and common use of "PRINT
CONDITION ("S20", "U30")" for each device.
5. Preparation : When setting the expansion port configuration, request and obtain the
system configuration diagram from the sales representative in charge
of the client.
Settings
Normally when setting the "DICOM PRINT", it is essential to set "Port No." + "IP Address" + "AE Title".
However, it is possible to allocate 1ch to the DRYPRO 771 disregarding the AE title. (use "S09 DEFAULT
CH" to select and set the channel that is allocated to the expansion port)
Using this expansion port, maximum 8 channels can be connected. Leave blank for the AE title inputbox for
both expansion port and device that is connected to the expansion port.

1.3 Preparations for Installation
The following items should be checked before proceeding with installation.
1.3.1 Checking Installation Conditions
Check that the place of installation satisfies the following conditions.
Checking place of Installation
• Location where the unit will not be exposed to water.
• Location where the unit will not be exposed to an atmosphere containing excessive levels of pressure,
heat, humidity, draughts, direct sunlight, dust, salt, flammable gases or sulphur.
• Location where the unit will stand on a level surface and will not be exposed to shock or
vibration.(including when transporting)
• Location where chemicals are not stored.
• Location free of gaseous emissions.
• Location where there is sufficient ventilation to extract any odors emitted by the DRYPRO 771.
• Location remote from any sources of noise.
• Location where power supply and network cables can be laid where they will not be
accidentally pulled or tugged by passing personnel.
• Location where the air inlet and outlet ports on the rear and side panels of the unit will not be obstructed.
• Location where the installation space shown below is secured.
Where the recommended UPS

Check of Route along which Power Supply and Network Cables will be Laid
The following items should be checked with the facility supervisor.
• The location of the hub to which the DRYPRO 771 will be connected, the route along which the
ethernet cable will be laid and necessary cable lengths.
• The location of the power outlet (3P) to which the DRYPRO 771 will be connected, the route along
which power supply cable will be laid and necessary cable lengths.
Check also that the cables will be laid along not, for example corridors, but along routes where safety
can be ensured.
Check of Conveyance Passage
Check that the passage through which the DRYPRO 771 will be conveyed from the place of unpacking to the
place of installation satisfies the following requirements.
• There should be no steps or sudden gradients that may expose the DRYPRO 771 to shock.
• The dimensions of entrances and exits of any room through which the DRYPRO will pass en route to the
place of installation should be sufficient to allow ease of passage.
• The floor along the route should be sufficient to support the DRYPRO 771 (Weight: approximately 155kg
without stand, 175kg with stand) without warping.

Ensure that the unit is installed in a location where the maintenance space shown at right can be ensured.

Check that the place of installation is furnished with power outlets that satisfy the following conditions.

• Voltage (Single phase) : 120V+/-10% 220 - 240V+/-10%
• Frequency : 60Hz 50 or 60Hz
• Maximum current consumption : 8.5A 4.5A
• Earth : Type 3 Type 3
Check of Place of Unpacking
Check that there is a space of 2.5m minimum at the front of the palette (the side with the lock piece).
When unpacking, the DRYPRO 771should be lifted down from the front of the palette.

1.3.2 Checking Network
Check in advance the items below with the facility network manager.
DRYPRO 771 (SCP) Settings
• Presence/absence of DHCP server.
(Where there is a DHCP server, the IP address for the DRYPRO 771 or maintenance PC will be
automatically allocated. Not usually used in domestic facilities.)
• The IP address and sub-net mask for the DRYPRO 771, maintenance PC and
gateway (Where a DHCP server is not used.).
• DRYPRO 771 host name.
• DRYPRO 771 AE title and port number (print service).
Information Relating to Diagnostic Devices (SCU)
• Number of diagnostic devices to be connected to the DRYPRO 771 (Max. 4ch).
• IP addresses of diagnostic devices.
• AE titles of diagnostic devices.
• Port numbers of diagnostic devices (N-EVENT REPORT service).
• Print conditions for diagnostic devices (formats, film sizes).
Maintenance PC
• PC with 10BaseT/100BaseTX network port.
• PC with TCP/IP protocol installed.
• PC that operates on Windows95/98/2000/XP.
• Supports Internet Explore (ver.5.5 or higher).
• Java applet to be installed.
Equipment for Network Connection
• Hub (used for direct connection of DRYPRO 771 with maintenance PC).
• Ethernet cable.
(For DRYPRO 771 -> hub connection and maintenance PC -> hub connection).

(120mm (47.3inch) or more) to disengage front cover lock.
• Flathead screwdriver
• Flathead screwdriver (with edge of 4mm (0.16inch) or less) to open front cover lock
