the power control is damaged, wet, in contact with or near spilled water or any liquid. Do not
use the unit if the button activation switch has been exposed to water or any liquid. Do not
handle the plug or remote control with wet hands.
• To prevent suffocation, keep plastic bags away from children.

• This product is intended for indoor residential use only.
• eep upholstery away from flames or lit cigarettes. Upholstery may burn rapidly, with toxic gas
and thick smoke. Fires that begin elsewhere in a home may spread and involve upholstery.
For your safety, always use a properly installed smoke detector with working batteries.
• Unplug the power cord immediately if you detect strange odors or fumes coming from the unit.
• Plug directly into a wall outlet. Do not use an extension cord, adapter or surge protector.
• Do not attempt to disconnect the power plug by pulling the power cord. Always hold the
power plug and pull it out.
• Disconnect the electrical plug from outlet before cleaning, moving, servicing or when not in
use for an extended period of time.
• Closely supervise children and disabled persons using this product.
• Remove hand wand when not in use, and store out of reach of children.
• This product has many moving parts, serious injury can occur if not used properly. eep
hands, fingers and body parts away from the mechanism. To reduce the risk of head
entrapment and other injuries, keep children and pets away from openings and moving parts
in and around furniture.
• Do not place cord under carpet or in a location where it could become worn.
• Do not allow electrical cord to be pinched anywhere.

• Do not use this product where the cord may be a trip hazard.
• Do not use this product if it is damaged. Do not use attachments or substitute parts.
• Never operate the unit with a damaged power supply, electrical cord, plug or connector. Check
the condition of the power supplies, electrical cords, plugs and connectors often.
• Do not operate the unit until the back is installed and locked.
• Sit down in the unit slowly. To avoid tip over, do not throw your weight against the back of the unit.
• Only the occupant should operate the unit. Never attempt to open the legrest by pulling on it.
• To safely exit the unit and prevent a tripping hazard, bring the back upright and close the legrest.
• Unit is designed to ease exit from the chair. Take care to not slip out of chair when chair is in motion.
• Do not stand, sit or place extra weight on the arms, back or open legrest.
• Some medications and physical limitations may impair your ability to operate this product in a
safe manner. Consult your physician if you are taking prescribed or over the counter medication,
or if you have physical limitations.
• Users of medical devices should contact their health care provider before using this product. Do
not use this product if you have poor circulation, are immobile, or cannot sense heat, except as
directed by your health care provider.

• To prevent damage to the power supply, do not plug in until instructed.
• Never operate the unit except when it is on its base in the upright position.
• Never operate the unit until the shipping cable tie has been removed from the mechanism.
• After 2 minutes of continuous operation of the lift and recline features, allow the features to rest
for 18 minutes.
• Gently press the buttons during operation and avoid hitting the buttons with pointed or hard objects.

• Do not use this product where aerosol (spray) products are being used or where oxygen is
being administered.
• In the event of a power failure, the battery backup provided may not lift the user to a fully raised
position. To ensure lift functionality during a power outage, a battery backup system must be
purchased separately. Contact your La-Z-Boy®dealer for more information. Replace the power
supply batteries every six months and after each power failure use.
• Before moving a lift chair, disconnect the electrical plug from the wall outlet. For Gold, Silver, and
Bronze Series chairs, secure the mechanism (as shown in the Operating Instructions online) to
prevent unexpected opening or movement. Moving the chair requires two people, one on each
side of the chair, lifting only the lower arm frame near the base, never by the legrest or reclining
back. Refer to the Operating Instructions online for further detail.
• This product is not intended to be used as a bed. Do not sleep in for an extended period.
• Double-insulated products are marked with the words “DOUBLE INSULATION” or “DOUBLE
INSULATED” and may include the symbol M3 (square within a square). Do not attempt to
ground these products, which use two systems of insulation instead of grounding. Double-insulated
products should be serviced only by qualified service personnel, using replacement parts
identical to the original parts.
• Burns may result from improper use and care of internal heating pads. To avoid risk of burns, do
not use pins, do not allow heating pad area to become wet, and do not remove upholstery cover.
• Do not use pillow, blanket, or other cover between occupant and chair surface when heat is engaged.
• All lift chairs are intended for use by a single occupant, not exceeding the following weight limits:
• Platinum: 350 pounds • Silver: 325 pounds
• Gold: 500 pounds • Bronze: 300 pounds
Do not operate the chair with more than one occupant in or on any part of the chair.
• If you give this product to someone else, include this Operating Instructions manual.

Assembly I structio s
Back assembly not required for Platinum Series lift chairs. For Platinum lift chairs, proceed
directly to the online Operating Instructions at la-z-boy.com/Support/Product-Manuals for
comprehensive instructions, including safety instructions, electrical connections and operating
instructions. Do not plug in until instructed.
For Gold, Silver a d Bro ze Series lift chairs:
1. Carefully cut the cable tie securing the lift base (FIGURE 1).
2. Align the brackets on the back with the brackets on the body (FIGURE 2).
• The back brackets may be located on the outside or inside of the back assembly.
3. Lower the back onto the body, making sure the back and body brackets are completely engaged.
4. For a Gold or Silver Series lift chair, push the locking levers down to lock the brackets (FIGURE 3).
Bronze Series lift chairs do not use the locking lever. This design produces an audible “snap” or
“click” when the brackets are engaged and locked.
• If you are unable to install the back properly, contact your La-Z-Boy®dealer
for assistance.

La-Z-Boy provides the following warranties, subject to the stated limitations.
LIMITED WARRANTY – FABRICS
Fabrics are warranted for one (1) year against seam failure, fabric separation and nap loss.
Pilling, dye lot match, and fading are not covered. Labor: One (1) year.

855-80-COMFORT (or 855-802-6636). Improper cleaning/treatment or application of treatment
voids your warranty.
LIMITED WARRANTY – SEAT CUSHIONS
Standard foam cushions have a Limited Warranty for one (1) year.
La-Z-Boy airformTM cushions have a Limited Warranty for three (3) years.
Labor for attached seat cushions is one (1) year.
LIMITED WARRANTY – PARTS
Certain parts are warranted against manufacturing and material defects, as shown below.
Labor: One (1) year unless noted. What is covered:
• Frame: Lifetime of unit
• Back and Seat Springs: Three (3) years
• Platinum, Gold and Silver Reclining / Lift Mechanisms and Base: Three (3) years
• Bronze Reclining / Lift Mechanisms and Base: One (1) year
• Headrest/Lumbar Mechanism: Three (3) years
LIMITED WARRANTY – ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS
Platinum, Gold and Silver electric motors and electrical systems have a three (3) year Limited
Warranty. Labor: One (1) year.
Bronze electric motors and related electrical systems have a one (1) year Limited Warranty.
Labor: One (1) year.
LIMITATIONS APPLICABLE TO ALL WARRANTIES
ALL WARRANTIES ARE TO ORIGINAL PURCHASER FROM AUTHORIZED DEALERS ONLY.
WARRANTIES ARE NOT TRANSFERABLE.
ALL WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED TO MANUFACTURING AND MATERIAL DEFECTS THAT APPEAR
UNDER NORMAL INDOOR RESIDENTIAL USE. ADDITIONAL LIMITATIONS DESCRIBED HEREIN APPLY.
WARRANTIES ARE FOR REPAIR, REPLACEMENT, OR SUBSTITUTION ONLY, IN LA-Z-BOY’S SOLE
DISCRETION. REFUNDS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.
LA-Z-BOY WILL PAY REASONABLE AND CUSTOMARY RATES FOR LABOR DURING THE PERIOD
OF THE LABOR WARRANTY. YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LABOR COSTS AFTER THE STATED
LABOR TIME PERIOD.
YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR IN-HOME INSPECTION FEES, TRANSPORTATION OF PRODUCT
TO AND FROM YOUR DEALER AND TO AND FROM THE LA-Z-BOY FACTORY. (MOST REPAIRS
DO NOT REQUIRE RETURN TO THE FACTORY.)
WARRANTIES ARE VOIDED BY EVIDENCE OF EXCESSIVE SOILING, IMPROPER CLEANING OR TREATMENT,
ABUSE, ABNORMAL USE, OR USE CONTRARY TO THE ADVISORIES OR INSTRUCTIONS CONTAINED
HEREIN. WARRANTIES DO NOT APPLY TO PRODUCTS USED FOR RENTAL, BUSINESS, COMMERCIAL,
INSTITUTIONAL, OR OTHER NON-RESIDENTIAL USES.
THESE WARRANTIES ARE YOUR EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AND NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EXPRESS
OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY
AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, APPLY. IN NO EVENT WILL LA-Z-BOY BE LIABLE
FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSE UENTIAL DAMAGES, EVEN IF IT HAD REASON TO KNOW IN
ADVANCE THAT SUCH DAMAGES WERE POSSIBLE. THESE WARRANTIES GIVE YOU SPECIFIC
LEGAL RIGHTS, AND YOU MAY HAVE OTHER RIGHTS THAT VARY FROM JURISDICTION TO
JURISDICTION. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED WARRANTIES
OR THE LIMITATION OF DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS MAY NOT
APPLY TO YOU. IN THE EVENT THE WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS DO NOT APPLY TO YOU, THEN, WHERE
LEGALLY PERMISSIBLE, SUCH WARRANTIES ARE LIMITED IN DURATION TO THE WARRANTY
PERIOD AND NO WARRANTIES APPLY AFTER THAT PERIOD.
