● A short button press turns the dimmer on and off. When turned on, the
dimmer will go immediately to the same brightness level as when it was last
turned off.
● A long button press will cause the dimmer brightness to go up or down
When dimming up, dimming will stop when maximum brightness is reached,
and when dimming down, dimming will stop when minimum brightness
is reached. Release the button and then hold down again to change the
dimming direction.
●Over-temperature protection If the dimmer gets too hot (due to
overloading or insufcient de-rating), the lamp brightness is automatically
reduced. After the dimmer cools down, normal operation is automatically
resumed. Be sure to correct the cause of the high temperature!
●Short-circuit protection If the dimmer receives a short circuit or surge
(due to faulty wiring or lamp failure), it automatically turns itself off before
damage can occur. Simply press the push-button to resume operation. Be
sure to correct the cause of the short circuit!

The EM450UP Push Button Dimmer is a solid state device, so there
is still 240V present at the load even when the dimmer is switched off.
Therefore, we recommend that power be switched off at the circuit
breaker before replacing faulty lamps.

Warranty
Legrand Cat EM450UP is warranted as here and after appears, against
faulty material and/or workmanship for a period of one year from the
day of purchase. The obligation of the manufacturer under this warranty
is limited to servicing and replacing defective parts when the unit is
returned to the authorised place of purchase, at the purchaser’s cost.
To obtain warranty repair, the purchase receipt should be returned with
the product. This warranty becomes void on any unit which has been
tampered with or damaged by accident, short circuited, loaded beyond
rating or damaged otherwise by improper operation. The warranty
is also conditional on the unit being installed by a licensed electrical
contractor. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded
under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement
or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other loss or
damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced
if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not
amount to a major failure.
Troubleshooting
If the dimmer does not turn on and the LED is completely off:
● Check if the lamps need replacing.
● If the lamps are ok, then the dimmer’s backup internal fuse may have
blown. This fuse cannot be reset so the dimmer must be replaced.
If the dimmer does not turn on but the LED glows faintly:
● Short-circuit protection feature is operating.
● Check the lamps and the wiring for faults.
If the dimmer cannot be dimmed up to maximum brightness:
● Over-temperature protection is operating.
● Check that the load is suitable for use with the dimmer.
● Check that the load is below the maximum rating of the dimmer,
taking into account the number of dimmers per plate and the ambient
temperature.
If the dimmer stays on at full brightness or the lamps icker
permanently:
● Check that the load is suitable for use with the dimmer.
● The dimmer may be permanently damaged and need replacement.
