Reduces the likelihood of accidental
dislodgment of sets and enables
immediate detection of a free flow
condition.
AUTOMATIC PRIMING
Automatic priming of feeding and
water through the administration set
allows nurse time to perform other
bedside duties and may help reduce
wasted sets due to improper manual
priming.
VERSATILITY
• Feeding rate adjustable in 1 mL/hr
increments from 1–295.
• Dose Limit adjustable in 1 mL/hr
increments from 1–2000.
• Feeding Strength options include
FS (Full Strength), 3/4, 2/3, 1/2, 1/3,
1/4strength, or H20(water only).
• Water volume adjustable in 1 mL/
hr increments from 0–500.
• Time Interval adjustable in 1 hour
increments from 2 to 12 hours,
with programmable flush avail-
able as dose is delivered.
• Ability to select basic full strength
feeding delivery when water
delivery options are not desired.
PATIENT HYDRATION WITH
AUTOMATIC FLUSH
Patient hydration needs are facilitat-
ed by administering up to 500 mL of
water over a selected time interval (in
hours). Time interval is adjustable in
1 hour increments from 2 to 12 hours.
In addition, the final 25 mL of water is
automatically flushed through the line
just before the conclusion of the time
interval.
FEEDING DILUTION
Provide feeding dilution when neces-
sary by selecting Feeding Strength.
Feeding can be delivered at full
strength (FS), or diluted to 3/4, 2/3,
1/2, 1/3, 1/4strength, or H20(all water
delivery, no feeding).
PROGRAMMABLE FLUSH
AFTER DOSE IS DELIVERED
Deliver up to 500 mL of water in a
programmable water delivery to
hydrate the patient or flush the line
after the feeding dose limit is deliv-
ered. Water is delivered at a fixed rate
of 375 mL/hr.
The EntraFlo H20™ Nutrition Delivery System is an easy to use, versatile device
for the administration of all enteral feeding solutions. Key features of this

KEYPAD CONTROLS

selected function to 0. (If FEEDING
RATE is selected, pressing and
holding RESET for 4 seconds will

8. RUN/PAUSE, starts and/or holds
pump operation. PAUSE is used to
temporarily stop feeding, or silence
an alarm condition. Parameters can
only be changed when pump is in
PAUSE mode. An audio and visual
alarm is activated if the pump has
been in PAUSE mode for 2 ½ min-
utes. Press RUN/PAUSE to resume
normal operation.

over the selected Time Interval
or at the end of the dose limit.
Select from 0–500 mL in 1 mL

time interval (2 to 12 hours in 1
hour increments) over which the
selected water volume is deliv-
ered. When doSE is displayed,
indicates Programmable Flush
is activated. When nOnE is dis-
played, all water side settings
are deactivated.

At the conclusion of the Time

CHECK PUMP SETTINGS
1. Press ON - alarm sounds briefly
and displays .8.8.8.8. The pump
has memory and displays pre-
vious settings, and returns to
flashing Feeding rate on the dis-
play panel.
Note: Changes can only be made to
parameters at the START of a new
feeding protocol to avoid improper
water delivery. To facilitate this
safety feature, parameters can only
be changed when amount displayed
in Volume Delivered is 0.
If desired, reset Volume Delivered
or reset all parameters to default
settings by pressing and holding
Reset for 4 seconds when Rate is
displayed.
2. Check Feeding Volume
Delivered. Press SELECT until
Volume Delivered is displayed.
If desired, reset to 0 by press-
ing RESET. This also resets
Water Volume Delivered to 0.
(Accumulated Volume is not
affected.)
3. Check Dose Limit. Press SELECT
until Dose Limit is displayed.
To change, press (increase)
or (decrease). For continuous
feeding where no dose limit is
desired, press until nOnE is
displayed.
4. Check Feeding Accumulated
Volume. Press SELECT until
Accumulated Volume is dis-
played. If desired, reset to 0 by
pressing RESET.
Attach pump to IV pole using built-in
pole clamp. Plug power cord into a
120 VAC, 60 Hz. three wire grounded
electrical outlet if available.
PREPARE ENTRAFLO H20™
DELIVERY SET
1. Close both clamps on delivery
set prior to setup. Prepare and
hang EntraFloH20™ pump set
from an IV pole.
2. Open delivery set security doors
by pulling the latch on each
door.
3. Insert water drip chamber into
water side drip chamber brack-
et, and feeding drip chamber
into feeding side drip chamber
bracket.
4. Carefully stretch water set sili-
cone tubing around rotor. Insert
pump adapter into bridge. Place
tubing into tubing guide, close
and latch delivery set security
door.
5. Repeat step 4 with feeding side
delivery set.

5. To dilute feeding, press SELECT
until strength is displayed. Press
or to set desired feeding
strength. Options available are
FS (Full Strength-no feeding
dilution), 3/4, 2/3, 1/2, 1/3, 1/4

In steps 6–8, you have the option
to select Hydration with Automatic
Flush or Programmable Flush after
dose is delivered.
HYDRATION WITH
AUTOMATIC 25 ML FLUSH
Administers water with feeding over
a selected time interval during con-
tinuous feeding, concluding with an
automatic 25 mL water flush.
6. To set water volume, press
SELECT until Set volume is dis-
played. Press or to set the
desired volume of water to be
delivered. Adjustable in 1 mL
increments from 0–500 mL.
7. To select time interval, in hours,
press SELECT until Time Interval
is displayed. Change by press-
ing or . Adjustable in 1 hour
increments from
2 to 12 hours. MAXIMUM
WATER DELIVERY IS 75 ML PER
HOUR UP TO A MAXIMUM OF
500 ML. (See page 13 for maxi-
mum water volume setting at
specific time intervals.) The final
25 mL of water is automatically
flushed through the line before
the conclusion of the selected
time interval.

ered. (For this feature, water is deliv-

8. Follow steps 6 and 7. At Set
Volume, enter the desired volume
of water to be delivered. When
Time Interval is selected, press
until doSE is displayed. The
amount in Set Volume is deliv-
ered after feeding dose limit is
reached.
To deactivate Hydration and
Programmable Flush, at Time
Interval, press until nOne is
displayed.
9. Check Water Volume Delivered.
Press SELECT until Volume
Delivered is displayed. This will be
reset to 0 when Feeding Volume
Delivered is reset (see step 2).
10.Check Water Accumulated
Volume. Press SELECT until
Accumulated Volume is displayed.
If desired, reset to 0 by pressing
RESET.
11. Check Feeding Rate. Press
SELECT until Feeding Rate is dis-
played. To change, press or .

BEGIN FEEDING
1. Connect delivery set adapter to
the patients enteral feeding tube.
CAUTION: Verify enteral tube
placement before beginning feeding.
2. Press RUN/PAUSE to begin
enteral feeding. The Pump pri-
marily displays the feeding rate.
It briefly displays the feeding vol-
ume delivered every 7 seconds.
3. Press RUN/PAUSE and/or OFF
to stop the pump at any time
(Feeding rate, Dose Limit, Feeding
and Water Volume Delivered,
Feeding and Water Accumulated
Volume, Set Volume, and Time
Interval are retained in pump
memory).
Pressing SELECT allows the user to
scroll through and view Feeding and
Water side settings at any time.
AUTO PRIMING
Automatic priming results in a small
amount of fluid being discharged
beyond the delivery set adapter.
12.Open both clamps on the delivery
set. Remove the luer adapter cap
from the delivery set, and place
the cap in the luer adapter cap
holder available on the pump.
13.Press PRIME for automatic prim-
ing of the delivery set. The Pump
displays a series of Ps during the
prime cycle and the rotor begins
to turn. Feeding is primed first,
then water (if necessary) through
the delivery line. This fluid is not
counted in Volume Delivered.
The prime cycle completes in
approximately 3 minutes. An
audible alarm sounds when prim-
ing is complete, the pump goes to
Pause mode, and the Feeding rate
flashes.
USE WITH ENTRAFLO™ PUMP
SETS
If desired, EntraFlo™ Pump adminis-
tration sets may be used to deliver
water or feeding only.
1. For standard set delivery, use only
the feeding side. This allows rate
and dose programming.
2. Install set according to instructions
on page 9.
3. Select rate. Press or to
change.
4. Check Volume Delivered and to
clear press reset.
5. Select Dose Limit. Press or to
change.
6. Select Accumulated Volume and to
reset press reset.
7. Set Strength at FS.
8. Deactivate Hydration and
Programmable Flush by select-
ing Time Interval and press until
nOnE is displayed.

3. Follow steps 1 and 2, using
SELECT until Accumulated
Volume is displayed, and reset if
desired.
Any time Feeding Volume Delivered
is reset, Water Volume Delivered
is automatically reset. Likewise, if
Water Volume Delivered is reset,
Feeding Volume Delivered is auto-
matically reset.
Accumulated Volume displays full
strength or diluted feeding volume
delivered over multiple dose limit
feedings.
TO SET THE FEEDING RATE
1. Press SELECT until Feeding Rate
is displayed.
2. Enter a new feeding rate by
pressing (increase) or
(decrease). Change is more rapid
when the key is pressed and
held.
3. Adjustable in 1 mL/hr increments
from 1–295.
TO SET THE DOSE LIMIT
1. Press SELECT until Dose Limit is
displayed.
2. Enter a new dose limit by press-
ing or . Change is more
rapid when the key is pressed
and held.
3. Adjustable in 1 mL increments
from 1–2000.
4. For continuous feeding when no
dose limit is desired, press
until nOnE is displayed.

feeding delivery, only water is

Water Volume Delivered is used
to monitor water delivered when
Hydration with Automatic Flush, or
Programmable Flush options are
activated.
1. Press SELECT until Volume
Delivered is displayed.
2. Press RESET.
3. Follow steps 1 and 2, using
the SELECT key to move to
Accumulated Volume, and reset
if desired.
Any time water volume delivered is
reset to 0, feeding volume delivered
is automatically reset to 0. Likewise,
when feeding volume delivered is
reset to 0, water volume delivered is
automatically reset to 0.
Water Accumulated Volume is used
to monitor the total water volume
delivered over multiple time inter-
vals.

ALARMS/INDICATORS
no SEt (NO SET)
An audible alarm sounds, and no SEt is
displayed. Indicates one of the following
conditions:
• An EntraFlo H20™ set is not being
used.
• One or both of the delivery set secu-
rity doors are not closed and latched
securely after the RUN/PAUSE
key has been pressed. Immediately
determine if the delivery set has
become dislodged from the pump.
Caution: If feeding is free flowing, take
corrective action immediately. Stop the
feeding flow using the slide clamps on
the delivery set. Monitor patient for
signs and symptoms of feeding/water
over-delivery.
When turned on, the EntraFlo H20™ Nutrition Delivery System is designed to provide
audible and visible alarms under several conditions where desired performance cannot
be maintained. Pressing RUN/PAUSE after the alarm condition is identified silences
the alarm and returns the pump to pause mode. Perform the necessary procedures to
correct the alarm condition. Press RUN/PAUSE again to resume normal operation.
LOW BATTERY ILLUMINATED
(LOW BATTERY)
The LOW BATTERY indicator on the dis-
play panel comes on 15 minutes before
the pump ceases operation due to a LOW
BATTERY condition. After 15 minutes,
the indicator flashes, an audible alarm
sounds, and the pump stops operation.
Whenever LOW BATTERY is indicated,
plug the pump into an electrical outlet,
and normal feeding may continue. The
battery recharges anytime the pump is
connected to an AC outlet regardless of
whether the pump is turned on or off.
To avoid degrading battery life, it is
important not to run down the battery.
FEEd Err (FEED ERROR)
The pump stops, an audible alarm sounds, and FEEd Err is displayed.
Possible Condition
1. Water or Feeding container is empty
2. An occlusion has caused delivery to stop
3. Drip chamber is overfilled
4. Drip chamber walls are heavily coated
with feeding
5. Drip chamber bracket sensors need
cleaning
6. Drip chamber is improperly placed
Corrective Action
1. Refill container or start new delivery
set. Follow instructions to prime the
delivery set, and resume feeding.
2. Identify point of occlusion and correct
3. Insert new administration set (use
automatic priming to avoid “flooding”
of drip chamber)
4. Manipulate chamber to reset drops in
sensor path
5. Clean sensor with cotton swab and
isopropyl alcohol
6. Reposition drip chamber

HoLd Err (HOLD ERROR)
Pump is left on hold and RUN/PAUSE is
not pressed within 21/2 minutes. Press
RUN/PAUSE to silence the alarm, press
again to start feeding if desired.
RUNNING/STOPPED ILLUMI-
NATED
Indicates the status of the pump.
BATTERY CHARGING ILLUMI-
NATED
Indicates the pump is operating on
electrical power. Plug power cord into an
AC electrical outlet whenever possible.
No audible alarm sounds.
doSE dEL (DOSE DELIVERED)
The pump stops, doSE dEL is displayed,
and an audible alarm sounds when the
pump has delivered an amount of feeding
equal to the Dose Limit.
Three alarm modes are available when
the dose is complete:
• Mode 1–Audible alarm sounds once,
then stops
• Mode 2–Audible alarm sounds once,
stops, and then alarms at 5
minute intervals
• Mode 3–Audible alarm sounds
continuously
To select the desired mode, turn pump
off. Then:
1. Turn the pump on by pressing ON.
2. .8.8.8.8 is immediately displayed.
While displayed, press and hold the
and keys simultaneously for 4
seconds.
3. 1, 2, or 3 is displayed, which reflects
the corresponding alarm mode
(Mode 1, Mode 2, or Mode 3).
4. Select the desired alarm mode by
pressing (increase) or
(decrease).
5. Press SELECT to save the new alarm
mode. The pump audibly alarms
once, verifying the new alarm mode
is saved. (If SELECT is not pressed,
the new alarm mode is not saved.)
6. Press OFF to turn the pump off.
7. When the pump is turned back on, it
is set to operate with the new alarm
mode.

TROUBLESHOOTING
EntraFlo H20™ Nutrition Delivery Systems are reliable electromechanical devices. As
with any mechanical device, problems may occur. The following tips will help you cor-
rect the minor in-service problems that may arise.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
• Battery charge is below
performance level
• Feeding or water container
is empty
• Occlusion is restricting flow
• Drip chamber not properly
placed in pump
• Drip chamber walls coated with
feeding drops or
condensation in sensor path
• Flow sensors housing need
cleaning
• Pump is on hold for more than
2 1/2 minutes
• Pump has delivered
preset volume
• Door not closed and latched
• Wrong set is used
• Set is not properly in place
SOLUTION
• Plug cord into AC outlet
• Replace or refill feeding or
water container
• Identify point of occlusion and
