1) To open the lubricator, place it upright on a at surface. With one hand on top of the transparent housing, press rmly with
the other hand, hold the ribbed surface of the locking ring and turn it counter-clockwise. Remove the locking ring and the trans-
parent housing.
2) If using a MEMOLUB® HPS, EM, ONE or EPC, remove the black rubber seal to reveal the baery chamber, then insert the
baery pack. The baery pack has to be inserted according to the instrucons on the pump housing. When the baery pack is
inserted, the motor will be acvated for a moment. Put the rubber seal back in place. Note: The black rubber seal is not used
on the Model 480 (Giga) lubricator.
3) Remove the paper, disk-shaped card from the replacement cartridge and ll in the “Start Date” and “Change Date”. The
change date is determined by the programming, which can be looked up on your programming chart. Place the card on the
inside top surface of the transparent housing, so that the informaon can be viewed from the top of the lubricator. Replace the
spring and compression plate.
4) a. (Grease Cartridges Only) - Carefully squeeze air out of the cartridge unl grease begins to emerge from the outlet. This step
avoids pump air lock and ensures an uninterrupted ow of grease to the piston pump.
b. (Grease Cartridges Only)- Place the cartridge on the inlet of the pump housing. The male end of the lubricant cartridge
should seat into the female end of the pump housing.
5) a. (Oil Cartridges Only)- Hold the cartridge with the outlet facing up. Carefully remove the cartridge plug and place the rub-
ber baery seal on the cartridge. Do not squeeze the cartridge. Turn the pump housing over and gently place it on the outlet of
the cartridge.
b. (Oil Cartridges Only)- While holding the cartridge and pump housing together, ip the assembly over and hold the cartridge
in place.
6) Replace the housing assembly (transparent housing, spring and compression plate, and black locking ring) over the lubricant
cartridge and pump housing. The compression plate should be seated evenly on the lubricant cartridge. While holding the lock-
ing ring by its ribbed surface, turn it clockwise unl it clicks into the locked posion. Ensure that the locking ring locks by holding
it on its smooth surfaces and turning clockwise. If the housing is correctly locked into place, it will not be possible to open it by
holding the locking ring on its smooth surfaces.
7) To ensure that the MEMOLUB® is working, follow the “Check Funcon” steps listed for each of the Power Opons.
MEMOLUB® HPS, EM & ONE: Gently push and release one of the three switches at the boom of the pump housing.
MEMOLUB® EPC: Close external circuit relay, switch or PLC and then push and release one of the three switches.
MEMOLUB® EPS: Apply external power and then push and release one of the three switches.
MEMOLUB® PLCD: Screw the lubricator onto the Power-Through-MEMO ng, and then start PLC program.
It is important that this step is done with a lubricant cartridge installed. Operang the MEMOLUB® without a cartridge or with
an empty cartridge will cause the pump to lose its prime.
8) Screw the MEMOLUB® lubricator onto the brass MEMO (which should already be screwed onto the lube point) using care not
to damage the threads. Once the MEMOLUB® is mounted onto the MEMO ng, it will immediately start one or two ejecon
cycles. This is the test funcon.
9) If necessary , prime the MEMOLUB® pump with a hand grease gun. This step is required only if the MEMOLUB® was permit-
ted to operate without a cartridge in place or operate with an empty cartridge. Do this by placing the outlet of the hand grease
gun on the inlet of the MEMOLUB® unit and pumping unl grease appears at the outlet end of the MEMOLUB®. Two pumps of
grease are generally sucient.
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS:
Warning: Allowing the MEMOLUB® to cycle connuously with an empty cartridge can damage the pump.
Warning: The lower pump housing contains a loaded spring, DO NOT OPEN.
Warning: When using manual Check Funcon, aim the lubricator downwards and away from others.
Use the MEMOLUB® to lubricate machinery only.
Use only approved MEMOLUB® prelled cartridges and baery packs.
