Collar options for MGG Maxi and 023B Dog Fence Systems
The MGG Maxi Re-chargeable and Waterproof Collar
The MGG “DFC MAXI RC” Re-chargeable and waterproof collars for the MGG Maxi and 023B Dog Fence Systems are
suitable for those systems purchased from MGG after January 2013.
Please charge for a minimum of 8 hours for the first 2 times. After that 1.5 to 2 hours will be sufficient. Charging
longer than 3 to 5 hours at a time will reduce the life of the battery. When charging, the light will be red and when
fully charged the light will be green. If in daily use it is a good idea to charge it once every one or two weeks. To
maintain the collar’s moisture seal, please ensure that the rubber bung for the charging port is re-inserted
completely after charging.
The indicator light will flash whilst the collar is being activated by the boundary wire.
You can charge from your computer with the usb cable provided or use the usb mains adapter provided.
When charged, the receiver is always in standby mode so it will always be using some power. If the collar is tested
and the indicator light is red, then the collar needs re-charging.
There is just the one pre-set level of static shock which will suits all dogs over 7Kgs bodyweight

Your Receiver Collar comes with short contact points installed. Use the long contact points for dogs with long or
thick hair. Tighten the contact points with pliers one half of a turn beyond finger tight. Please check the tightness
weekly. If leaving another collar on your dog DO NOT have it on the same side of the receiver box that has the
rubber button or the rubber button will be destroyed.
Battery Replacement.
To replace the battery use the screwdriver to loosen the four screws (5A), open the cover (5B), then you can see the
9V battery inside. Insert a new 9V battery in the collar receiver ensuring that polarities are correct (5C). To maintain
water resistance please ensure that the “o” ring is seated properly and that wires have not been trapped.
TO TURN ON: With the battery installed, press the Correction Level Button (5D) for a few seconds until TWO “Beeps”
are sounded from the receiver-collar which means the receiver is now on.
TO TURN OFF: In the ON position. Press the Correction Level Button (5D) for a few seconds until ONE “Beep” is
sounded from the receiver which means that the receiver-collar is now switched off.
To Set the Static Correction Level first turn the collar on. The correction level is then set
with short pushes of the button rather than long pushes which turn it on and off.
1. The Receiver LED Indicator Light will emit a series of flashes representing the
Static Correction Level.
2. Increase the Static Correction Level by pressing and releasing the Correction
Level Button within 5 seconds of the previous series of flashes.
The Static Correction levels increase in strength from 1 to 5. Pushing the Correction Level
Button while the Receiver Collar is on level 5 will cause the Receiver Collar to revert to level
1. Refer to the Function and Response Table to choose the Static Correction level that best
fits your dog.
The Receiver Collar is equipped to automatically increase the level of Static Correction the
longer your dog remains in the Static Correction Zone if the collar is set at level 2 or above.

The 023B Collar System
Insert a NEW 6-volt battery into the collar-receiver following the positive (+) and negative (-) signs
inside the battery compartment. Warning: Incorrect installation could cause permanent damage to some
electronic parts. If the indicator light turns red, it means the battery is low and must be replaced with
a NEW battery.
Finally, place the test light bulb provided on the two metal probes of the collar-receiver. To avoid
receiving a static shock,do not touch the metal probes orthe test light wire.
With the collar-receiver in hand, approach the boundary wire to verify that the receiver activates. Initially,
the collar-receiver should issue a warning beep and as you get closer the test light bulb will illuminate
when the collar-receiver starts administering ‘correction’ static pulses. You will not feel these pulses.
In the case of an apparent malfunction we suggest you re-test by performing the short loop test as per
page 18 of theMaxiinstruction manual. This will determine whether it isthecollarorthe transmitter orthe
boundary wire is causing the problem.
The 023B collar/receiver is on standby all of the time so will be using a little power all of the time. We
suggest that if not in use for more than a day,you remove the battery to conserve power.
MGG supply 10 of the 4LR44 batteries for only $18 postage paid. Beware of paying up to $10 each for the
batteries elsewhere!
The 337B Re-chargeable Collar System
For Small Dogs 3Kg and over

The MGG 337B Re-chargeable collar is the smallest of the 4 options for the MGG Maxi and 023B Dog
Fence systems. It is suitable for dogs of 3Kg and over. It is fully weatherproofbut not submersible in water.
Charge by usb or with the adapter included. One static impulse setting for all dogs and the collar is equipped
with a motion sensor which turns it on when it detects movement and off if there is no movement. Super
easy!
When activated by movement and it needs charging it will flash red 2 or three times and then turn itselfoff. It
will flash red during the charging process and when charged the red light will remain constant until lack of
movement switches the collar off.
