Preface
Thank you for your purchase of the MIDIPLUS Jr. USB MIDI master con-
troller keyboard. The MIDIPLUS Jr. is used in conjunction with a USB
equipped Macintosh or Windows computer and appropriate music software to

enter MIDI note information. It has been specifically designed to work per-
fectly with Apple’s GarageBand software on Mac OS X computers.
This manual is written to help you become familiar with the features of the
MIDIPLUS Jr.. Please read the manual carefully to find out what you can
do with your MIDIPLUS Jr.. After reading this manual, you should have a
clear understanding of how to use MIDI messages to produce music tracks
in GarageBand (or other software). We recommend that you have the
manual at hand when you are using the MIDIPLUS Jr., so that you can
find useful information quickly when you need it.

Main Features
The MIDIPLUS Jr. USB MIDI master controller keyboard provides 49 dynamic
keys, it is operated directly from the power supplied by the USB port on
your computer. Therefore, no external power-supply is needed to activate
your instrument. Your new MIDIPLUS Jr.:
•Provides one USB MIDI OUT jack for operation as a standalone MIDI
controller
•Has two buttons to shift the octave range up or down in 1-octave
steps
•Has a rear-mounted USB “B” Type data jack
•Has Pitch bend wheel and Modulation wheel

About MIDI and the MIDIPLUS Jr.
MIDI is the acronym for Musical Instrument Digital Interface, which makes all
digital musical instruments equipped with this standardized interface to be
able to exchange their MIDI data. As a MIDI instrument, your new MIDIP-
LUS Jr. produces no actual sound on its own. A host computer running ap-
propriate MIDI-aware software is required to give voice to any instrument or
effects sounds you would then control using your MIDIPLUS Jr.. Your MI-
DIPLUS Jr. is compatible with any USB MIDI compliant computer. However,
it is specifically designed and supported to work with an Apple computer
running Mac OS X 10.2.8 or higher, and a PC running Windows XP.
Using your MIDIPLUS Jr.
To get started using your MIDIPLUS Jr. USB MIDI master controller
keyboard :
•Remove the MIDIPLUS Jr. from its packaging and set it at a comforta-
ble location on your desk
•Use the supplied USB cable to connect the USB jack of your MIDIPLUS
Jr. to the USB jack of your computer.
•Open your computer’s MIDI configuration preferences and set them to
recognize the MIDIPLUS Jr. as the MIDI keyboard input source.
•Open the MIDI-aware music software you intend to use with your MI-
DIPLUS Jr. and set the MIDIPLUS Jr. as its input MIDI keyboard
source.
•Follow the instructions for your particular MIDI music creation software for
playing music using a USB MIDI master controller keyboard.
Default Setting of the MIDIPLUS Jr.
The MIDIPLUS Jr. will always select the following values for their parameters

when the power is turned on.
Transmit MIDI Channel no. 1.
Default Octave will be from C2(36) to C6(84)
Octave Shift Buttons
At the center of the rear panel of your MIDIPLUS Jr. there are two small
gray colored buttons for controlling the octave range of your MIDIPLUS Jr.
These buttons can be easily reached by simply reaching over the top of the
keyboard with your fingers during play. By pressing the left or right octave
shift button, you will shift the active keyboard one octave higher, or lower.
For example, if you want to change the octave to 2 octaves lower of
range, Press the left octave shift button twice. To return to the default oc-
tave, just press the right octave shift
button twice.
Each time your MIDIPLUS Jr. is powered off and back on by either shutting
down your attached computer or by unplugging the USB cable connection,
the default octave setting will be restored.

Bedienungsanleitung
Einleitung
Vielen Dank für den Kauf des MIDIPLUS Jr. USB MIDI Master Controller
Keyboards. Das MIDIPLUS Jr. können Sie über eine USB Verbindung mit
einem Macintosh oder Windows Computer und einer geeigeneten MIDI
Sequenzer oder Notations-Software benutzen. Es ist auch speziell zur
perfekten Zusammenarbeit mit Apple’s GarageBand Software auf Mac OS X
Computern geeignet.
Diese Anleitung soll Ihnen helfen, die Features und Möglichkeiten des
MIDIPLUS Jr. zu verstehen und zu benutzen. Bitte lesen Sie diese Anleitung
aufmerksam um die Möglichkeiten, die Ihnen das MIDIPLUS Jr. bietet,
kennenzulernen. Nachdem Sie diese Anleitung gelsesen haben, sollten Sie

Das MIDIPLUS Jr. USB MIDI Master Controller Keyboard bietet 49

Strom gespeist, somit ist zum Betrieb des Keyboards kein eigenes Netzteil
notwendig.
Ihr neues MIDIPLUS Jr.:
•Bietet einen USB MIDI OUT Port zur Funktion als MIDI Controller
•Hat zwei Druckknöpfe um den Tastatur-Umfang Oktavenweise nach
Oben und Unten in Ein-Oktav-Schritten zu erweitern
•Hat auf der Rückseite einen USB Port Typ “B”
•Hat ein festgelegtes Pitch Bend und ein Modulations Rad auf der
Oberseite des Keyboards
Über MIDI und das MIDIPLUS Jr.
MIDI ist das Kurzwort für Musical Instrument Digital Interface (Digitale
Daten-Schnittstelle für Musikinstrumente), mit dieser standardisierten
Schnittstelle können alle digitalen Musik-Instrumente, die damit ausgestattet
sind, Ihre MIDI-Daten austauschen. Als MIDI-Instrument kann Ihr neues
MIDIPLUS Jr. Keyboard keine eigenen Töne erzeugen. Das MIDIPLUS Jr.
kann in Verbindung mit einem Computer und darauf laufender entsprechender
MIDI-Software diese kontrollieren, um einen Ton oder einen Effekt zu steuern

Wie Sie Ihr MIDIPLUS Jr. benutzen
Wie Sie Ihr MIDIPLUS Jr. USB MIDI Master Controller Keyboard zum ersten
Mal einsetzen :
•Nehmen Sie das MIDIPLUS Jr. aus der Packung und stellen Sie es auf
eine gerade Oberfläche auf Ihren Schreibtisch oder einen Keyboardständer
•Benutzen Sie das mitgelieferte USB Kabel um die USB Schnittstelle Ihres
MIDIPLUS Jr. mit der USB Schnittstelle Ihres Computers zu verbinden.
Da das MIDIPLUS Jr. ein “Class Compliant” Gerät ist, wird es beim
Anschluß an einen eingeschalteten Computer direkt mit Strom versorgt
und als MIDI -Gerät erkannt und vom Betriebssystem eingerichtet. Unter
Windows XP wird es eventuell auch als “Audio-Gerät” erkannt.
•Öffnen Sie die MIDI Konfiguration Ihres Computers oder die MIDI-
Software mit der Sie arbeiten wollen und stellen Sie das MIDIPLUS Jr.
als MIDI Input Quelle ein.
•Zum Einspielen von Musik mit einem USB Midi Master Keyboard folgen
Sie bitte den Anweisungen in Ihrer spezifischen Musiksoftware.
Die Voreinstellungen des MIDIPLUS Jr.
Bei Einschalten des MIDIPLUS Jr. werden immer folgende Voreinstellungen
aktiviert.
Der Mididaten-Übertragungskanal ist Nummer 1
Der Tonumfang ist von C2(36) bis C6(84)
voreingestellt.

Oktav-Transpositions Taster
Auf der linken Seite über den beiden Pitchbend und Modulations Rädern des
MIDIPLUS Jr. befinden sich zwei kleine graue Taster um die Oktav-Lage
des Keyboards zu verschieben. Diese Taster können einfach auch während
des Spielens auf der Tastatur gedrückt werden, um in die gewünschte
Oktave zu wechseln. Bei einmaligem Druck auf den linken Taster (Octace
down) wird die Keyboardtastatur um eine Oktave nach Unten verschoben,
bei Druck auf den rechten Taster (Octave Up) eine Oktave nach Oben. Als
Beispiel. Wenn Sie die Tastatur zwei Oktaven tiefer spielen wollen (C2 wird
zu C0), drücken Sie den linken Taster zweimal. Um in die Ausgangs-
Tonlage zurückzukommen, drücken Sie den rechten Taster zweimal. (C0
wird wieder zu C2)
Immer wenn Sie das MIDIPLUS Jr. auschalten, oder den Computer
ausschalten oder das USB Kabel entfernen, wird das MIDIPLUS Jr. in die
voreingestellte Oktavstellung zurückgesetzt.
