UNDERCOUNTER INSTALLATION
• Cut out the opening by carefully following the
pencil line traced from the template.
NOTE: The screws and anchors provided
should be used on countertops with a
minimum 1” (2.5 cm) thickness. For thinner
countertops, use appropriate anchors and
fasteners (not provided).
For Wood Countertops
• Mark and pre-drill the wood screw holes at
the locations shown on the template.
• Waterproof any exposed areas of wood.
For Marble/Stone Countertops
• Position the countertop upside down on foam
padding to protect the surface. Mark and drill
3/8” holes 5/8” (1.6 cm) deep at the
locations shown on the template.
• Use a setting tool and hammer to secure
the anchors.
For All Undercounter Installations
• If the countertop has not been installed,
installitatthistime.
• Drill the faucet holes according to the faucet
installation instructions.
• Install the faucet to the countertop according
to the faucet manufacturer’s instructions.
• Install the drain to the lavatory according to
the drain manufacturer’s instructions.
NOTE: Do not use adhesives or adhesive
sealants.
• Apply a continuous bead of quality sealant
to the top surface of the lavatory rim where it
will contact the countertop.
• For marble countertops, install the lavatory
to the countertop with the clamps and screws
provided. For other countertop materials,
refer to the countertop manufacturer’s
instructions for recommended fasteners.
• Position the lavatory squarely under the
cutout before tightening the clamps. Draw
the lavatory rim up against the countertop
until it is snug. Do not overtighten.
• Immediately wipe away any excess sealant
and fill any voids as needed.
• Allow the sealant to set for 30 minutes before
proceeding.
• Connect and tighten the trap to the drain,
and complete the water supply connections to
the faucet according to the instructions
packed with the faucet.
• Run water into the lavatory and check for leaks.
• Clean up with a non-abrasive cleaner.
• Cut out the opening by carefully following the
pencil line traced from the template.
• Drill the faucet holes according to the faucet
installation instructions.
• Measure and compare the thickness of
the lavatory rim and tile. The lavatory rim
thickness is 3/8” (1 cm) plus or minus
1/32” (1 mm). Because of the varying
thickness of the tile and lavatory, or if
adhesive or mortar bed installation is used,
make allowances to shim the lavatory, or
route the underlayment as required.
NOTE: The lavatory is designed to be installed
flush or slightly lower than the surrounding
tile. Provide shims, or route the underlayment,
as needed.
• Position the lavatory in the countertop
opening. Verify the fitandposition.
• Carefully remove the lavatory.
• Install the drain to the lavatory according to
the drain manufacturer’s instructions.
• Place a 1” (2.5 cm) spot of sealant at each
corner of the frame where it will contact
the lavatory.
NOTE: Apply additional sealant if using shims.
• Carefully re-position the lavatory. Press
down firmly.
• Tile and grout to allow an acceptable space
between the tile and lavatory.
• Use sealant in the space between the lavatory
and tile.
• Install the faucet to the countertop according
to the faucet manufacturer’s instructions.
• Connect and tighten the trap to the drain,
and complete the water supply connections
to the faucet according to the instructions
packed with the faucet.
• Run water into the lavatory and check for leaks.
• Clean up with a non-abrasive cleaner.

• Due to the variety of installations possible
with this lavatory, you may need to use
procedures other than those described.
Remember, because of the variety of tile
available, you must take careful
measurements prior to installation.
• It is very important that the proper materials
are used with your lavatory. Proper selection
of tile is critical for a good installation.
3/8” (1 cm) tile is recommended. Because
of the variance in tile thickness, your
carpenter, tiler, and plumber must all be
aware of the exact type of tile you choose.
• After selecting the tile, provide a sample to
each contractor involved in the project. It is
very important that the carpenter, tiler, and
plumber maintain good communication and
discuss requirements.
