NOTE
Pressing the Main Power Switch will
turn the power to the table off.
NOTE
If the table is stored for a period greater
than 6 months, the batteries should be
removed and stored in a dry, clean con-
dition at a storage temperature of 68° F
(20° C). Batteries should be recharged
every 6 months of product storage.
NOTE
When the indicator starts to blink (indi-
cating low power in battery) the table
will operate for approximately 5 con-
tinuous minutes, typically long enough
to use the table for the rest of the day.
NOTE
The charging system operates ONLY
when the table is in AC120V operation
mode.
The table can be operated on 120VAC
power while the battery is being re-
charged.
WARNING
DO NOT unlock brakes when a patient
is on the table. An uneven patient
weight load may cause instability. Po-
tentialpinchand/orcrushhazardexists
The extreme positioning capabilities of the 7200
SeriesTablerequiresspecialattentionforpossible
interference points when using multiple function
positioning. As with the operation of any surgical
table,acertainamountofcareshouldbeexercised
to position the patient safely. Although the thick
pads and sheets substantially protect the patient,
pinchpoints,locatedat the jointsofthetop section
should always be considered. BE SURE THAT
THE ARMS, HANDS AND FINGERS OF THE
PATIENT AND THOSE OF THE OPERATING
ROOMPERSONNEL ARE CLEAROF ALL MOV-
ING PARTS BEFORE MOVING THE TABLE.
Properrestraintsshouldalwaysbeusedforpatient
safety.
Certain accessories such as the Armboards and
X-Ray top can be damaged when changing the
position of the table top sections. Always look first
to see if a desired movement is going to interfere
with any accessories in use.
The operator has the ultimate responsibility of
preventing damage to the table and surrounding
equipment or possible injury to the patient or staff.
The operator must ensure proper positioning is
maintained to prevent compromizing respiration,
nerve pathways or circulation.
In general, common sense will dictate when there
is a potential hazard.
The following precautions should be reviewed
by all personnel prior to operating the table.
A routine Instructional Program should be
implemented by the facility for proper usage
instructions for all personnel that may operate
this table.

Electrical circuit protection is provided by two 10
Amp fuses. The foot operated, main power switch
is located on top of the foot end of the base. See
figure 1-2.

1-1. General
Model 7200B Micro-Surgery Operating Table is
electro-hydraulicallyoperatedanddesignedforthe
stability,posturingcapabilitiesandprecisionmove-
ment required for sensitive surgical procedures.

Thehand-heldcontroloperatesthefloorlock/brake
system and the positioning functions for
Trendelenburg, lateral-tilt, back section, elevation
and speed selection.
Manualcontrolsareprovidedforheadsectionposi-
tioning, back section extension and the split leg
section operations.
1-2. Power Requirements
The Model 7200B Micro-Surgery Operating table
requires a 120VAC, 60 Hz electrical power supply.
Thetableisequippedwitha20footlongpowercord
with a standard three prong, hospital grade plug.

1-3. Pendant Control Unit
Thehand-heldpendantcontrolunit(figure1-3)has
a non-slip rubber cover which assures a positive
grip during use. A spring clip hanger is located on
the back of the unit. This allows storage of the unit
on the table side rails.

The function push buttons are identified with de-
scriptions for all functions. See figure 1-4.
1-4. Foot Control Unit
The foot control unit allows the surgeon to control
the table. See figure 1-5. The four buttons activate
the Trendelenburg and Lateral Tilt movement and
the return lever allows a one touch procedure to
return the table top to a level position.

2-2. Battery Power
To operate the table on battery power, disconnect
the power cord and operate the controls normally.
To extend the battery charge life, turn the Main
PowerSwitchOFFwhenthetableisnotgoingtobe
used.

a.Besurethepowercordisattachedtothetable
and plugged into a properly grounded, Hospital
Grade, 120VAC outlet. Make sure the power cord
isroutedtothe outlet to preventitfrombeing in the
way of operating personnel.
b. Depress "Main Power ON/OFF" switch lo-
catedontopofthefootendofthebase. Seefigure
2-1. A green indicator light on the pendant control
unit should now be illuminated.

2-3. Automatic Shut-Off
a. To prevent unnecessary discharge of the
battery, a timer is built into the battery circuit. This
timerwillautomaticallyshutthebatterypowerOFF
after 1½ hours of table inactivity.
b. To turn the table ON again, press any button
on the pendant control, a green indicator light will
illuminate.
NOTE
Pressing the Main Power Switch will
turn the power to the table off.

2-4. Charging the Battery
Batteries should be charged:
• When the table is placed into initial
service
• As indicated by amber indicator light
blinking
• Every week in normal service
NOTE
If the table is stored for a period greater
than 6 months, the batteries should be

(20° C). Batteries should be recharged

a. If the battery needs to be charged when operat-
ingthe table on battery power,the amber indicator
light will begin to blink. At this time the battery
needs to be recharged.
NOTE
When the indicator starts to blink (indi-
cating low power in battery) the table

to use the table for the rest of the day.

b.To rechargethebattery,makesurethepower
cord is attached to the table and plugged into a
120VAC wall outlet and turn the main POWER
SWITCH - ON. The green CHARGE LAMP will
illuminate.
c. Afull battery charge will lastapproximately 2
weeks under normal operating conditions. How-
ever, it is recommended to charge the batteries at
theend ofeach week to establish a normal routine
protocol. Leadacidbatteries last longer iftheyare
notpermitted to fullydischarge. The tablefeatures
(2)12volt,sealed,leadacidbatterieswhichrequire
no manual maintenance. Lead acid gel batteries,
under a proper charging program, feature an ap-
proximate normal life of 4 years.

a. Speed Selection. Normal table positioning
functionsshouldbedonewiththecontrolsystem in
the high speed mode. Low speed operation is
mainlyusedformovementduringmicroscopepro-
cedures. To place the system in high speed, de-
presstheHIGHSPEEDbutton.Seefigure2-3.The
high speed indicator light should be illuminated.
To place the system in low speed, depress the
LOW SPEED button. See figure 2-4. The low
speed indicator light should be illuminated.
2-5. Positioning Functions
The hand-held pendant control (figure 2-2) acti-
vates the following table functions:

b. Floor Lock/Brake System. The floor lock/
brake system consists of four hydraulic cylinders
whichraiseandsupportthetablebaseoff from the
castors. To activate the brakes, press the BRAKE
LOCKbutton(figure2-5.)andholdfor6-8seconds
to allow full extension of the cylinders.

To allow the table to be moved, release the brake
system by pressing the BRAKE UNLOCK button.

e. Back Section. To raise the back section, press
the BACK UP button. See figure 2-11. The back
section will raise up to 90° above horizontal. To
lower the back section, press the BACK DOWN
button. See figure 2-12. The back section will go

2-6. Foot Control
The foot control is provided for surgeon control
of the table top Trendelenburg and lateral tilt func-
tions. See figure 2-16.

f. Elevation. To raise table top, press the
TABLE UP button. See figure 2-13. The table will
raise to a maximum height of 40.5" To lower the
table top, press the TABLE DOWN button. The
table top will go down to a minimum height of 16".

a. Lateral Tilt is achieved by pressing either the
Lateral-Right or Lateral-Left button as desired.
Movement of up to 25° may be obtained.
b.Trendelenburg positioning is achieved by
pressing either the Trendelenburg or Reverse
Trendelenburg buttons.Movement of up to 45°
TREND, 20° REV TREND may be obtained.
c. The return lever, when depressed, automati-
cally returns the table top to level position.
d. Speed Selection. The speed of the table
movements can be changed with the High Speed/
Low Speed functions of the pendant control. See
figure 2-17. Low speed should be selected for
precise positioning when using the foot control.

2-7. Head Section
a. Aquickreleasepositioning bar located under
and to the front of the head section (figure 2-18) is
used to raise or lower the head section. Pull the
release bar toward the head end to allow the
section to pivot up or down. Positioning from 60°
above horizontal to 90° below horizontal in 15°
incrementsisavailable. Releasethebartolockthe
head section in position.

By loosening two locking knobs beneath the back
section,anadditional3"oflongitudinaladjustment
can be achieved. If desired, the head section may
be removed by loosening the locking knobs and
pulling it straight out of the back section.
2-8. Intermediate Back Section
The intermediate back section, located between
theheadsectionandmainbacksection,issecured
with two locking knobs located under the back
section. See figure 2-19. By loosening the two
locking knobs, an additional 3" of longitudinal ex-
tension can be achieved. If desired, the intermedi-
atebacksectionmayberemovedbylooseningthe
lockingknobsandpullingthesectionstraightoutof
the back section.

Anadditionalset of locking knobsandguideholes
in the main back section allow the head section to
be reattached with the intermediate back section
removed. See figure 2-20.

2-9. Leg Section
The table has movable, split-leg sections. The
individual sections can be rotated both vertically
andhorizontally. To reposition a sectionvertically,
lift up slightly on the leg section side rail and press
the VERTICAL ADJUSTMENT LEVER. See fig-
ure 2-21. The positioning range is from 50° above
horizontal to 45° below, in 15° increments.

To reposition the leg section horizontally, press
and hold the HORIZONTAL ADJUSTMENT LE-
VER (figure 2-22.). Position leg section as desired
and release the HORIZONTAL ADJUSTMENT
LEVER.To removethelegsection,press andhold
the HORIZONTAL ADJUSTMENT LEVER and lift
the leg section up to remove it.

3-2. Cleaning Recommendations
NOTE
Always follow current AORN Journal
Guidelines to ensure proper cleaning
and disinfection procedure.
Thefollowingproceduresshouldbefollowedwhen
cleaning the surgical table between cases.
Place table top in level position prior to starting
cleaning procedure.
WARNING
AlwaysfollowOSHAblood-bornepatho-
gens standards for protective clothing,
including gloves, masks and eye pro-
tectionwhencleaningthesurgicaltable.
Remove major contaminants from the table with
disposablematerialsfollowingappropriatebiohaz-
ard waste disposal procedures.
Remove all table pads and place them on a flat
surface for cleaning.
CAUTION
Thoroughly read and follow the
manufacturer's directions for all clean-
ing fluids. DO NOT use cleaners con-
tainingphenolics.
Apply cleaning fluid liberally to top and sides of
each pad and wipe with a clean lint-free cloth.
Using a clean, damp, lint-free cloth, wipe the pads
to remove the cleaning fluid.
Using a clean, dry, lint-free cloth, wipe the pads to
remove all moisture.
Repeat the steps to clean the bottom of the each
pad.
3-1. Preventive Maintenance
Thefollowingpreventivemaintenancechecksand
services are recommended to ensure the service-
abilityandproperoperationofyour SurgicalTable,
and should only be performed by qualified trained
personnel.
a. During normal cleaning, a general visual ex-
amination should be made checking for leaks,
loose bolts or parts, and cracked, chipped, or
missing paint. Any necessary repairs should be
made.
b. Semi-annually the following checks and ser-
vices should be performed:
1. Checkallhydraulicfittings,mini-valvesand
slave cylinders for proper operation and
any signs of leaks.
2. Check the hydraulic speed controls and
adjust if necessary.
3. Pressure check (with a gauge) the pres-
sure relief valve.
4. Checkallmechanical adjustments and ad-
just as necessary.
5. Check hydraulic fluid level.
6. Lubricate the slider assembly.
7. Check function of foot leg adjustment le-
vers. Lubricate as necessary.

CAUTION

remainingresidue.
Installpendantcontrolonsiderailforstoragewhen
cleaning procedure is complete.
