1.0 Introduction
Thank you for purchasing a Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair! We aim to provide the safest and
most adaptable mobility equipment on the market. Please read this manual in its entirety before
operating or maintaining this product. To ensure safe use, all operators of this device should be
properly trained.
CAUTION
Improper usage of this device can cause injury to the rider or operator. The Evacuation Chair
must only be operated as described in this manual. Do not modify the Evacuation Chair or any of
its components unless you are a Certified Mobile Stairlift Technician, as modifications can result
in unpredictable performance and result in injury to the rider or operator.

1.1 Indications for Use
The Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair is a manual transport device that transports the rider in a
seated,
upright position on the ground and up or down stairs in a safe and efficient manner. The
Evacuation Chair is capable of moving adult, adolescent, or child occupants who are able to
remain seated while secured by the safety belt. The Evacuation Chair is for medical and rescue
personnel with proper training to move individuals with disabilities safely up and down staircases.
The Evacuation Chair’s four wheels also allow the operator to transport the occupant on flat
surfaces when the tracks are in an upright and locked position.
WARNING
DO NOT use this stair chair lift to transport occupants
who may have cervical, spinal, or fracture injuries.

1.2 General Description / Intended Use
The Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair is intended as a transport device for a human occupant in
a seated position to be taken up or down flights of stairs. The occupant should be secured in the
chair by restraints for their safety and the safety of the operator. The operator must read this man-
ual and be properly trained on this product before use. The operator must practice with the Stairlift
Evacuation Chair alone before using it to transport a rider.
1.3 Disclaimer
This user manual contains general instructions and guidelines for the use, operation, and care of
this product. These instructions are not all-inclusive. The safe and proper use of this product is
solely at the discretion of the user. Safety information is included as a service to the user. All other
safety measures taken by the user should be within and under consideration of applicable regu-
lations. It is recommended that a complete training on how to properly use this product should be
provided before actual use.
1.4 Unpacking the Device
You will receive your device in a large box with foam protection, as photographed below. Unpack
your brand new Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair, remove all the shipping and packing materials,
and check all the items for proper operation. If anything is missing or noted not to be correct, or
any type of damage is present due to shipping, please contact Mobile Stairlift.

2.0 Symbols and Definitions Used in this Manual
Consult instructions for use.

2.2 Safety Precautions
1. Read this entire user manual before using the Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair, and use the
Evacuation Chair only as described in this manual.
2. Always make sure that the chair is locked in the unfolded position before use. An unlocked
chair may fold during use causing injury.
3. Do not use the chair with suspected cervical, spinal, or fracture injuries.
4. Do not leave an occupant unattended. Maintain a grip on the Evacuation Chair while an
occupant is seated on the Evacuation Chair.
5. Always use the restraint straps to secure the occupant in the chair. An unrestrained
occupant may fall from the chair.
6. Do not push the chair with the upper control handle in the fully extended position. Pushing the
chair with the handle extended may cause the chair to tip when you encounter obstacles.
7. Always lock the chair in position before you transport an occupant.
8. Make sure the occupant keeps hands inside the chair when moving up or down a staircase.
9. Avoid getting dirt inside the tracks.
10. Do not attach any additional items to this chair.
11. The Evacuation Chair may not work the same on all stair surfaces and in all environments
and conditions.
12. Never lubricate the belts or tracks of this product. Lubricating the track system can result in
injury to the patient and /or operators.
13. Do not attempt to transport occupant loads greater than what you can safely lift.
14. Always lock the lift handlebar in position before you use the extended handlebar to tip the
chair back.
15. To clean the Evacuation Chair, wipe with a towel and clean water. Dry after cleaning. Please
note that cleaning products may cause corrosion and damage to the Evacuation Chair.
16. Use only parts that are specifically made for this Stairlift. If replacement parts are needed,
please contact Mobile Stairlift for assistance.
17. Maintain and operate the Evacuation Chair only as described in this manual. Mobile Stairlift
can be reached for all service, maintenance and questions regarding this chair and its
operation.

IMPORTANT
Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair users should practice using the Evacuation Chair without anyone
or anything in it, and then practice using the chair with a load, and then practice with a person.
Never operate the chair without proper training and practice.

•The Evacuation Chair is equipped with a safety belt, as well as a belt to stabilize
the feet and the head if necessary, to secure the rider during transportation.
•The Evacuation Chair is made of high-strength aluminum alloy materials.
•The Evacuation Chair is designed to be lightweight, compact, easy to carry, easy to
use safely, and easy to clean and sterilize.
•The Evacuation Chair features safety restraints and a footrest for the safety and
comfort of the rider.

accessories when they determine the total load on the product.

7.0 Learning to use the Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair –
Quick Start Steps
1. Unbuckle the safety belt from around the Evacuation Chair.
2. Unfold the seat and make sure it is locked into place.
3. Press on the red bar on the back of the Evacuation Chair seat to extend the handle bar to
manually push the chair around when on a flat and level surface, turn off the battery and
press the spokes on the back of the wheels down
4. Attach the headrest to the handlebar’s poles.
5. Pull the handles on the back of the Evacuation Chair up into a locked position in order to
move the Evacuation Chair around.
6. Press down on the red locks on the back of the rear wheels to unlock the Evacuation Chair.
7. The Evacuation Chair is now ready to use.
NOTE:
It is recommended that the operator begin training by practicing using the Evacuation Chair
without a rider. This will help them get familiarized with the working mechanisms of the
Evacuation Chair and how to safely move on flat surfaces, as well as how to
ascend and descend staircases with a rider.
8.0 Operation Details
Before each use of the chair, make a visual check to see that all parts are in place and that there
are no loose or moving parts. If you see anything out of ordinary issues with the chair, do not use
it until you verify with our customer service rep that it is safe to use.
8.1 Unfolding The Mobile Stairlift Evacuation Chair

Unbuckle the safety belt from
around the Evacuation Chair
by pressing the red button
on the buckle.
Pull down on the Evacuation
Chair’s seat to unfold it.
Continue pulling it down until
the chair locks into place.

Fold in the back handles by
pressing on the the red tabs
on the top of each and letting
them swing down to the frame
Remove the headrest, and
press the handlebar lock to
backrest while you lower the
handlebar to its original position
Fasten the seatbelt around the
folded-in seat, and tighten to
hold everything in place.

forcing the tracks and seat to
fold towards the center until it

8.3 Moving on Flat Surfaces With the Mobile Stairlift Evacuation

locked position in order to move
the Evacuation Chair around on
level ground.

locks on the back of the
rear wheels to unlock the
Evacuation Chair. The
Evacuation Chair is now

8.4 Descending a Staircase With The Mobile Stairlift Evacuation
Chair
STEP 1
Press on the red bar on the
back of the Evacuation Chair
seat to extend the handle bar.
Pull until it locks into place.
STEP 2
Attach the headrest to the
handlebar’s poles by folding
over the handle bars and secure
the velcro.
STEP 3
Pull the handles on the back
of the Evacuation Chair up into
a locked position in order to
move the Evacuation Chair
around on level ground.

STEP 9 Ensure that the rider’s feet are
resting on the footrest. .

Fasten the foot restraint near
the footrest around the rider’s
legs for additional safety. Pull
the strap to ensure it is snug.
STEP 7 Unbuckle the foot restraint
before helping the rider
to the chair.
STEP 8 Carefully guide the rider onto
the seat of the Evacuation
Chair.
STEP 6 Lock the wheels before
assisting the rider onto the
Evacuation Chair.
STEP 5 Direct the Evacuation Chair as
close as possible to the rider.
STEP 4 Press down on the red locks on
the back of the rear wheels to
unlock the Evacuation Chair.

Once the rider has been
secured into the Evacuation
Chair, unlock the wheels and
roll the chair to the top of the
set of stairs you intend to de-
scend.
STEP 12 OPTIONAL: Fasten the
adjustable safety strap
located on the headrest
around the rider’s
forehead. This is especially
recommended if the rider is
unable to support their head.
STEP 11 Fasten the seatbelt around
the rider’s waist.

Stand behind the chair move
the Evacuation Chair until the
front wheels are a few inches
from the top stair.
STEP 15
Holding the handlebar firmly
with both hands, tilt the Evac-
uation Chair backwards onto
its rear wheels while pushing
the bottom of the chair for-
ward with your foot. As the
chair goes over the top stair,
the rubber tracks will be en-
gaged.
STEP 16 Slowly and carefully descend
the staircase, keeping a firm
hold on the handlebar while
pressing it down towards the
stairs to maximize friction.
STEP 17
When you reach the bottom
of the stairs and are on lev-
el ground, tilt the Evacuation
Chair into the upright position
and roll the chair to the desired
location.
Do NOT tip the Stairlift forward
until all four wheels are on level
ground.

10.0 Care and Cleaning Instructions
• To clean the chair, use a clean cloth or soft brush with warm clean water.
• Dry completely before use.
• Do not use products that have bleach or phenolic cleaners.
• Avoid over-saturation or leaving the chair wet for any amount of time.
• To clean the track casing, use SD-20 All Purpose Cleaner and a cloth to remove any grease
or other substance.
• Thoroughly dry before use.
• In a medical setting, we recommend you disinfect the chair between riders with basic
disinfectant for patient and operator safety.
