1.0 SV8100 System Programming for VM8000 InMail
The basic VM8000 InMail functions can be programmed automatically using PC-Pro or manually using telephone
programming, Web Pro or PC-Pro. This guide will proved the steps to do both with the emphasis on basic feature
programming.
This document shows the programming required to get a VM8000 InMail to work. The instructions are based on
the following system:
SV8100 system licensed for 8 ports of VM8000 InMail
CD-CP00-US with PZ-VM21 and VM8000 InMail CF in slot 1
CD-8DLCA in slot 2
CD-8LCA in slot 3
CD-8COT in slot 4
PRG 10-12-01 is the default IP Address 192.168.0.10
Support PC has IP Address of 192.168.0.11
SV8100 and support PC are both connected to the same network
Note: On a defaulted system the following VM8000 InMail settings are enabled:
Mailboxes 1-64 are enabled with extension numbers 101-164.
Call Routing box 001 is set to be the main greeting
Auto attendant callers can dial:
o1XX and 3XXX extensions
o0 for extension 101
o# + “extension number” to log into mailbox
o* + “extension number” to go to selected mailbox greeting
In 47-08-01 Call Routing boxes 1-32 have Dial Action Table 1 assigned to them.

change dial options use program 47-08-01 to determine the Dial Action Table that is associated with a
particular Routing Mailbox. Then go to 47-13-01 and make the appropriate changes for that Routing Mailbox..
47-08-01 Confirm Call Routing Mailbox 1 is set to use Dial Action Table 1 (default).

2.5Configure Mailbox for Dialing Option
Each mailbox can be set to allow dialing options. This allows callers who get to the personal greeting to dial
extension numbers or one key dialing option. To do this the caller falls through to the Next Call Routing

The In-Mail can support up to two Automatic Call Distribution Delay Announcements. Group mailboxes are used
to redirect to a Routing Mailbox that contains the ACD Delay Announcements Two ACD Delay Announcements
can be assigned. The settings below assume ACD is already setup and working in the system.
41-19-02 Group Mailbox for 1st Announcement Message
Set the first delay announcement group mailbox ID. This must be an unused extension number that
is valid in the systems number plan. For this example use 201.

47-03-02 Group Mailbox Extension
For Group Mailbox 1 set the extension number from PRG 41-19-02 (201).
47-03-02 Group Mailbox Extension
For Group Mailbox 2 set the extension number from PRG 41-19-04 (202).

Record the ACD Delay Greetings for Announcement mailboxes 009 and 010 from the System
Administrator’s mailbox.
5.0 Routing Inbound DID to a Specific Mailbox
In the past to have inbound DIDs ring a group then forward to a specific mailbox required the use of a Virtual
extension. Using the method below will allow the call to be directed to a ring group then forward to voice mail
carrying a specified station ID without using a virtual extension.
22-11-01 Received Number
Assign the received DID digits to be routed.
22-11-02 Target Number
In this field put the “@”symbol followed by the extension ID to be sent to voice mail. For example
@150 will send extension ID 150.
22-11-04 Transfer Operation Mode
Set this field to Busy/No Answer so the initial ring group has time to answer the call.
22-11-05 Transfer Target 1
This is the department group of phones that should ring before the caller is sent to voice mail.
22-11-06 Transfer Target 2
Set this field to 102, this specifies the InMail as the second target.
If needed a mailbox should be created for the callers to leave messages in. It can be a group mailbox
or a regular subscriber mailbox. It just needs to have the extension ID as set in 22-11-02, in this case
150.

6.0 Email Notification
Email Notification automatically sends an email notification when a Subscriber Mailbox receives a new
message. The email can optionally include the recorded message as a wav file attachment. To hear the
message, the email recipient double-clicks the wav attachment to have the message play in their wav
player (such as Windows Media Player).
This feature requires the SV8100 be at v3.00 or higher software. The SV8100 must also be
licensed for the Email Notification feature (1013) and have the appropriate number of Email client
licenses (1014).
This feature also requires that the SV8100 have access to the Internet if an Internet email service is to be
used. The following example shows the programming for a Gmail (Google) account. Gmail will allow
SMTP relay for an account but you must set SMTP forwarding for that account. For detailed information
on enabling a Gmail account for this feature refer to gmail.google.com.
6.1 Setting Up the System Network Options
10-12-01 Set the SV8100 IP Address
10-12-02 Set the SV8100 Subnet Mask
10-12-03 Set the SV8100 Default Gateway
10-12-09 If using the VoIP LAN port for Internet Access set the SV8100 IP Address here instead of
10-12-01.
10-12-10 If using the VoIP LAN port for Internet Access set the SV8100 Subnet Mask here instead
of 10-12-05.
90-11-11 Set first DNS Server IP Address.
90-11-12 Set second DNS Server IP Address.
Note: The system must have at least the Primary DNS server IP Address in order to resolve the email server
name.

in the email sent to the destination address.
Note: Google requires the Username be the entire email address, this applies to SMTP and POP3. Google
also requires Encryption/SSL be enabled.
6.3 Setting Up the System POP3 Options
47-19-01 Set POP3 Server Name
47-19-02 Set POP3 Server port, default is 110
47-19-03 If required by the email server, enable encryption
