Cleaning And Replacing The Moistening Brushes

Cleaning And Replacing The Moistening Brushes
he moistening brushes carry water from the sealing liquid reservoir to the envelope glue strip.
- After a period of use, the glue begins to build up on the brushes preventing the flow of sealing liquid through
the moistening brush to the glue strip on the envelope.
- his glue build up will cause poor envelope sealing.
When dirty or saturated, clean the moistening brushes or replace them when necessary.
- he brushes should be cleaned at least once a week.
Detailed Steps To Clean And Replace The Moistening Brushes
Step 1 - Open The Top Cover
• Lift the locking hand grip to open the top cover.
Step 2 - Locate The Sealing Syste
• Once the machine has been opened, locate the sealing
system.

Step 3 - Re ove The Moistening Brush Unit
•Carefully, remove the moistening brush unit.
Step 4 - Re ove The Moistening Brushes
•Carefully, remove the moistening brushes one by one by
pulling them down from the brush holder.
Step 5 - Wash The Moistening Brushes
•Wash the moistening brushes under warm tap water.
Step 6 - Reinstall Or Replace The Moistening Brushes
•Re-install or replace the moistening brushes onto the
brush holder.
• Ensure the studs on the brushes are fitted into the
corresponding holes on the brush holder.
Step 7 - Reinstall The Moistening Brush Unit
•Re-install the moistening brush unit.

Step 8 - Close The Machine
• Close the machine and test it for proper operation.

Replace or clean moistening cloth
When dirty or saturated, clean the moistening cloth or replace if necessary. Proceed as follows:

Remove the sealing liquid reservoir from the system.1.
Remove the cover with moistening cloth D.2.
Remove clips to remove the moistening cloth. 3.
