1.1 - General warnings
•TheHSTS2touchscreenkeypadcanonlybeusedwithNiceautomation
units and with the HSCU2 series alarm control units. Any use other than as
described in this manual is strictly prohibited!
•Donotmakeanychangestoanypartoftheproduct,exceptthosedescribed
inthismanual.Unauthorisedoperationwillcausemalfunctions;Nicedeclines
allresponsibilityfordamageresultingfromproductswhichhavebeenarbi-
trarilymodied.
•Tousethetouchscreenkeypad,justtouchthesurfacewithyourngeror
withthestylusprovided,applyingalittlepressure(do not press hard!).
Usingsharpobjectsisforbiddensincetheycandamagethedisplaybeyond
repair.
•Duringinstallationanduseoftheproduct,ensurethatnoforeignbodies(sol-
ids or liquids) penetrate any open devices.
•Ifindoubtduringinstallationorprogramming,donotattemptfurtheropera-
tionsandcontactNicesupportservice.
•Changethebattery,observingthepolarityshown.
•Manufacturer liability:Nicedeclinesallliabilityforanyfaultsresultingfrom
incorrect programming and use of the device.
•Guarantee (summary of terms):Niceguaranteesitsproductagainstcon-
cealed defects for a period of 3 years as of the date of manufacture. The
guaranteeappliestodirectpurchasersfromNice.Noguaranteeisenvisaged
fortheenduser,whointheeventoffaultsmustcontactthespecicinstaller
or retailer.
•Exclusions from the guarantee: the guarantee does not cover aesthetic
parts,thedisplay,partssubjecttonormalwearornormalconsumablessuch
asbatteriesandaccumulators.
•Theproductpackagingmaterialmustbedisposedofinfullobservanceof
current local legislation.
WARNINGS AND GENERAL PRECAUTIONS

TheHSTS2touchscreenkeypadistheradiointerfacethatcancontrolthe
entireNiceHomealarmsystemwithHSCU2controlunitandalsobeusedto
controlupto99Niceautomationunits;e.g.gates,curtains,shutters,lights,
etc.
HSTS2featuresaniconmenuandanintegratedvoiceguidethatmakeiteasy
to use. It has a voice answering machine which lets you record and listen to
voicereminders.Ithas4keys(g. 2)tobeusedtocontroltheautomationunits
in an immediate manner.
Inaddition,HSTS2isttedwithaHSB1transponderkeyreader(g. 1) that
providesforquickarminganddisarmingofthealarmsystem.
HSTS2ispoweredbytwo“non-rechargeable”batteries(g. 3).Itispossibleto
userechargeablebatterieswiththeuseofasuitableHSTSA1table/wallbase
(optional)withintegratedbatterycharger.
Thankstothesupportssupplied,thetouchscreenkeypadmaybewallmount-
edorplacedonitstablebase(g. 1); see chapter 8.

Ithasanon/offkey(g. 2)andanauto-offfunctiontominimisebatterycon-
sumption;afterafewsecondsfromthedisplaybeingtouched,thedevice
switchesoffautomatically(thetimecanbeadjusted).Toreactivateitjusttouch
thedisplaydirectlyormovethedevice(ithasamotionsensor).Iftheterminalis
turnedoffviatheon/offkey,itmaybeturnedononlyusingthelatter.
Touseitjusttouchthedisplaywithyournger,applyingonlyalittlepressure,
without pressing hard!
Itisonlywhenthegraphickeypadisusedthatmayitbenecessarytousethe
stylusprovidedtoachievegreaterprecision(g. 2-b).

3.1 - Initial start-up
Toperformtheinitialstart-upproceedasfollows(g. 3):
01. Openthelid:pressonpoint1andthenpushthebottomupwards(point2);
02. CheckthatmemoryboardAisthere;ifnotinsertitinthesuitableslot(point
3);
03. Insertthebatteries,observingthepolarityshown(point4);
04. Replacethebottom.
Uponstart-up,themainscreenappearsonthedisplay(g. 4) which has three
iconsfromwhereyoucanaccesstherespectivesub-menus.

53.2 - Conguring the parameters of the touch screen keypad
Toaccessthemenuoftheparameterstobeedited,touchtheicon and
thenselecttheiconoftheparametertobeedited.
SCREEN To adjust the display's brightness level.
Touch the keys or to make the adjustment. To conrm,
touch “OK”.
AUTO OFF To set the auto-off time of the touch screen keypad.
Select the desired time. To conrm, touch “OK”.
Note – The item “Never” keeps the touch screen keypad always on. It is
advisable to activate this option only if rechargeable batteries are used,
which are regularly charged; e.g. by using the HSTSA1 accessory.
RECHARGE To enable the battery recharging function if recharge-
able batteries are used. Caution! – Do not recharge non-rechargeable
batteries. This operation could damage the touch screen keypad.
Select the desired item. To conrm, touch “OK”.
LINK To add or delete the association of the touch screen keypad to
an alarm system control unit (see chapter 5).
VOLUME To adjust the volume level.
Touch the keys or to make the adjustment. To conrm,
touch “OK”.
MOTION To enable the movement sensor to allow the keypad to turn
on by a simple movement. The sensor is not active if the touch screen
keypad has been turned off with the ON/OFF key.
Select the desired item. To conrm, touch “OK”.
CLOCK To set the date and time. If the keypad is associated with the
alarm control unit, this icon will not be visible and the date and time set
in the alarm control unit will be displayed (see paragraph 5.7.1).
LANGUAGE To congure the language of the touch screen.
FIRMW. To display the rmware version of the touch screen keypad.

RESET To delete all the content of the touch screen keypad's
memory. Important! – The function does not delete: the parameters
contained in the control unit, the association of the touch screen with
the control unit (see paragraph 5.4 - Programming the “Alarm system”
instruction manual).
Select the desired item. To conrm, touch “OK”.
ThetouchscreenkeypadcancommandtheautomationunitsoftheNicerange
(gates,doors,curtains,shutters,lights,etc.)compatiblewiththeFLORencod-
ing(compatiblewiththeOperasystem),uptoamaximumof99automation
units.
Eachofthemcanbeassignedaspecicname(e.g.:“Kitchen”),thecategory
youwishtheautomationunittobelongto(e.g.:“Blinds”)andthecommandsto
beassociated(e.g.:“Up,Stop,Down”).
Itispossibletodene:
- groups: to command automation units of the same type at the same time;
- scenarios: to manage various automation units and alarm system;
- timer:fortheautomaticexecutionofgroupsorscenarios.
4.1 - Creating an automation unit in the touch screen
01.Turnonthetouchscreenkeypadandtouchthe“Domotics”iconinthe
main screen (g. 6);
02.Touchtheicon“Automations” (g. 7);
03.Scrollthroughtheiconsusingthescrollbartotheside;
04. Touch andthen“Automations”;

4.2 - Store a command in the receiver of the automation unit
Aftercreatingtheautomationunitinthetouchscreen,itisnecessarytostore
thecommandsinthereceiveroftheautomationunittobecommanded.Before
proceeding,arrangethereceiverforthestorageofacommand(forfurther
information see the instruction manual of the receiver).
01.Turnonthetouchscreenkeypad,touchtheicon and then the icon
“Automations” in the main screen;
02. Touch the icon of one of the 3 types of automation unit which the automa-
tionunitwasassignedto(e.g.“Gates”);
03. Scroll through the list and select the automation unit desired;

4.3 - Sending a command with the touch screen keypad

4.14 - Executing automation units in automatic mode

4.15 - Notice management
Thisfunctionisavailableonlyifthetouchscreenisassociatedwiththealarm
centralunitHSCU2CorHSCU2GC(seeparagraph5.2)andifthefunction
“Noticemanagement”isenabled(seeparagraph5.2.2).
Upto10programmescanbemanagedwhich,dependingonacertainevent
notiedbythealarmcontrolunittothetouchscreenkeypad,causetheexecu-
tionofascenario,anindividualcommandorgroupofcommands.
Caution – Ifthisfunctionisenabled,thetouchscreenwithrechargeablebat-
teriesmustbeusedwiththeHSTSA1batterychargerprovidedseparately.

5.1 - Activating and deactivating the system

without causing an accidental alarm.
IfthereareanyWarningsoropendoors/windowshighlightedbythesymbol
,thetouchscreenwillshowthelistofmessages.Selectonetheninthe

5.2 - Activation - Deactivation with transponder key
ThesystemcanbeactivatedordeactivatedusinganappropriateHSB1tran-
sponderkey(suppliedseparatelyasanaccessory),enablingtheusertoavoid
entering the access code.
Thetransponderkeyreaderactivateswheneverthetou-
chscreenisswitchedon,andisvisiblethroughtheicon
(thefunctionwillonlyactivateiflinkedtoatleastonetran-
sponderkey).
ACTIVATION:Switchonthetouchscreenandplacethetransponderkeynear
the lower left corner of the touchscreen. A
beepwillconrmthesystem’sactivation.
If the icon doesnotappear,pressthe
icon
Scrollthewindowonthebottomandactiva-
tethetransponderkeyreadingfunctionby
selecting the relevant icon.
Thelineonthebottomwillshowthekeyrea-

5.4 - Deactivation of the alarm under threat (anti-coercion)
Ifthealarmisdeactivatedthroughthetouchscreenkeypadsbyenteringthe
specic“anti-coercion”code,thealarmdeactivatesand,simultaneously,the
specictelephonecallsincaseoftheftareautomaticallydialled.
5.5 - Panic function
Incaseofemergency,itispossibletoactivateallthesirensandcallstothe
storednumberbypressingthe buttonontheremotecontrol(ifenabledon
thecontrolunit–verifywiththeinstaller),orbyswitchingonthetouchscreen
and pressing the icon and–onthenextwindow–theicon for roughly
2 seconds.
5.6 -Residual credit verication (only on versions HSCU2GC
and HSCU2GW)
IfarechargeableSIMcardisused,theresidualcreditcanbecheckeddirectly
from the touchscreen.

To record a new message:
01.Turnonthetouchscreenkeypad,touchtheicon andthen“New” in

02.Assignthenametothenewmessagetoberecordedthentouch“OK”.
03. Intheappearingscreen,touchkey tostarttherecording;thenat30to
50cmfromthetouchkeypad,readthemessageinaclearvoice.Atthe
end,touch to stop the recording.
04. Finally:
- touch to listen to the message again;
- touch tosavethemessagedenitively;
- touch todeletethemessage.Anewmessagecanberecorded.

To listen to a new message:
