Please read this manual before using the product.
nJoy is a brand of power and backup protecon products that
create soluons for mulple levels of environment complexity,
residenal to industrial.
This UPS will protect your electronic equipment from physical
damage and will provide emergency baery backup power to
prevent data loss in the event of power problems.
NOTE!
Before installaon, please inspect the unit. Be sure that nothing inside the
package is damaged. Keep the original package in a safe place for future use.

1. Power On/O buon: Master ON/OFF for the UPS.
2. Funcon Buons: Scroll up, scroll down, select and cancel LCD menu
in seng mode.
3. LCD Display: Indicate status informaon, sengs and events.
4. Input Circuit Breaker: The circuit breaker provides opmal overload
protecon.
5. AC Input Inlet: Connect the AC Power cord to a properly wired and
grounded outlet.
6. Baery Backup & Surge Protected Outlets: Provide baery backup
and surge protecon. They ensure power is provided to connected
equipment over a period of me during a power failure.
Crical / Non-crical outlets: Allows the creaon of load priories to
ensure that baery power reserves are transferred to specied outlets
during a power outage. The unit can be programmed to provide
addional runme for equipment connected to the “CRITICAL”
outlets, while stopping the power supply to equipment connected to
“NON-CRITICAL” outlets aer a designated period of me.
7. Extended Runme Baery Module Connector: Connect to
addional external baery modules.
8. SNMP/HTTP Network slot: Slot to install the oponal SNMP card
for remote network control and monitoring.
9. EPO (Emergency Power O) Connector: Enable Power-O in
emergency from a remote locaon.
10. Serial Port: Serial port provides communicaon between the UPS
and the computer. The UPS can control the computer’s shutdown
during a power outage through the connecon while the computer
can monitor the UPS and alter its various programmable parameters.
11. HID USB port: Allows the UPS to appear in Windows like a baery
icon. When the power is out, you can sll see the baery level and
adjust its sengs. Also Windows power management opons are
available. In case you need more advanced local management we
recommend you to install and use “PowerMonitor” soware.
12. Output Circuit Breaker: Provide overload and fault protecon.

Important safety warnings

Please comply with all warnings and operang instrucons in this manual
strictly. Save this manual properly and carefully read the following
instrucons before installing the unit. Do not operate this unit before
reading through all safety informaon and operang instrucons
carefully:
Transportaon
• Please transport the UPS system only in the original package to
protect against shock and impact.
Preparaon
• Condensaon may occur if the UPS system is moved directly from
cold to warm environment. The UPS system must be absolutely dry
before being installed. Please allow at least two hours for the UPS
system to acclimate to the environment.
• Do not install the UPS system near water or in moist environments.
• Do not install the UPS system where it would be exposed to direct
sunlight or near heat sources.
• Do not block venlaon holes in the UPS housing.
Installaon
• Do not connect appliances or devices which would overload the UPS
system (e.g. laser printers) to the UPS output sockets.
• Place cables in such a way that no one can step on or trip over them.
• Do not connect domesc appliances such as hair dryers to UPS
output sockets.
• The UPS can be operated by any individuals with no previous
experience.
• Connect the UPS system only to an earthed shockproof outlet which
must be easily accessible and close to the UPS system.
• Please use only VDE-tested, CE-marked mains cable (e.g. the mains
cable of your computer) to connect the UPS system to the building
wiring outlet (shockproof outlet).

• Please use only VDE-tested, CE-marked power cables to connect the
loads to the UPS system.
• When installing the equipment, it should ensure that the sum of
the leakage current of the UPS and the connected devices does not
exceed 3.5mA.
Operaon
• Do not disconnect the mains cable on the UPS system or the building
wiring outlet (shockproof socket outlet) during operaons since this
would cancel the protecve earthing of the UPS system and of all
connected loads.
• The UPS system features its own, internal current source (baeries).
The UPS output sockets or output terminals block may be electrically
live even if the UPS system is not connected to the building wiring
outlet.
• In order to fully disconnect the UPS system, rst press the OFF/Enter
buon to disconnect the mains.
• Prevent uids or other foreign objects from entering the inside of the
UPS system.
• WARNING: This is a category C2 UPS product. In a residenal
environment, this product may cause radio interference, in which
case the user may be required to take addional measures.
Maintenance, service and faults
• The UPS system operates with hazardous voltages. Repairs may be
carried out only by qualied maintenance personnel.
• Cauon - risk of electric shock. Even aer the unit is disconnected
from the mains (building wiring outlet), components inside the UPS
system are sll connected to the baery and electrically live and
dangerous.
• Before carrying out any kind of service and/or maintenance,
disconnect the baeries and verify that no current is present and no
hazardous voltage exists in the terminals of high capability capacitor
such as BUS-capacitors.

• Only persons are adequately familiar with baeries and with the
required precauonary measures may replace baeries and supervise
operaons. Unauthorized persons must be kept well away from the
baeries.
• Cauon - risk of electric shock. The baery circuit is not isolated
from the input voltage. Hazardous voltages may occur between the
baery terminals and the ground. Before touching, please verify that
no voltage is present!
• Baeries may cause electric shock and have a high short-circuit
current. Please take the precauonary measures specied in this
manual and any other measures necessary when working with
baeries: remove wristwatches, rings and other metal objects, use
only tools with insulated grips and handles.
• When changing baeries, install the same number and same type of
baeries.
• Do not aempt to dispose of baeries by burning them. This could
cause baery explosion.
• Do not open or destroy baeries. Escaping electrolyte can cause
injury to the skin and eyes. It may be toxic.
• Please replace the fuse only with the same type and amperage in
order to avoid re hazards.
• Do not dismantle the UPS system.

Installing your UPS system

4.1 Rack-mount installaon
1. Rack-mount ears installaon
Aach the two rackmount ears to the UPS using the provided screws
M4X8L*8pcs.
2. Install the UPS on the rack
Place the UPS on a at stable surface with the front of the unit facing
toward you. Secure the UPS to your rack with four M5X12L screws at
the front of the rack. (Located in posion 2 & posion 5).

4.2 Tower installaon
1. Aach the base stands
Tighten the screws (M4X8L*8pcs) of the base stands (rackmount ears)
onto the boom of the UPS.
2. Aach dust covers
Insert dust cover into the rackmount ear screw holes that are not being
used.

Baery Installaon and replacement

Step 1. Remove the front panel. Remove the retaining screws from the
baery bracket and then remove the cover itself. undraw the connectors.
Step 2. Pull the baery tray out slowly. Put the new baery tray back
into the compartment aer that.

Step 3. Fasten the baery bracket and then insert the connectors. Place
the connectors in the bracket.
Step 4. Tighten the screws of the baery bracket and front panel.

Step 1. Baery charge loss may occur during shipping and storage.
Before using the UPS, it’s strongly recommended to charge baeries for
four hours to ensure the baeries’ maximum charge capacity. To recharge
the baeries, simply plug the UPS into an AC outlet.
Step 2. Connect your computer, monitor and any externally-powered
data storage device (Hard drive, Tape drive, etc.) into the outlets only
when the UPS is o and unplugged. DO NOT plug a laser printer, copier,
space heater, vacuum, paper shredder or other large electrical device into
the UPS. The power demands of these devices will overload and possibly
damage the unit.

CAUTION
Step 3. Press the ON switch to turn the UPS on. If an overload is
detected, an audible alarm will sound and the UPS will connuously emit
one beep per second. For reseng the unit, unplug some equipment
from the outlets. Make sure your equipment carries a load current within
the unit’s safe range, (refer to the technical specicaons).

Step 4. This UPS is equipped with an auto-charge feature. When the
UPS is plugged into an AC outlet, the baery will automacally charge,
even when the unit is switched o.
Step 5. To maintain an opmal baery charge, leave the UPS plugged
into an AC outlet at all mes.
Step 6. Before storing the UPS for an extended period of me, turn
the unit OFF. Then cover it and store it with the baeries fully charged.
Recharge the baeries every three months to ensure good baery
capacity and long baery life. Maintaining a good baery charge will help
prevent possible damage to the unit from baery leakage.
Step 7. The UPS has one USB port and one Serial port that allows
connecon and communicaon between the UPS and any aached
computer running the Power Master soware. The UPS can control the
computer’s shutdown during a power outage through the connecon
while the computer can monitor the UPS and alter various programmable
parameters.
NOTE: Only one communicaon port can be used at a me. The port not
in use will automacally become disabled or the serial port will be disabled if
both ports are aached.
Step 8. EPO (Emergency Power O) / ROO (Remote On/O) Port:
EPO/ROO ports allow administrators the capability to connect the UPS
unit to customer-supplied EPO/ROO switches. If EPO is enabled, these
installaons give operators a single access point to immediately power-
o all equipment connected to the UPS during an emergency. If ROO is
enabled, these installaons give operators a access point to turn on/o
UPS remotely.
Step 9. To avoid electric shock, turn the unit OFF and disconnect the
unit from ulity power before hardwiring the UPS (IN/OUT power cord).
The IN/OUT power cord MUST be grounded.
6.2 Soware installaon guide
Install soware: For opmal computer system protecon, install the UPS
monitoring soware from hp://www.powermonitor.soware/ to fully
congure UPS shutdown.

1K, Aster 2K and Aster 3K UPS with included cable.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Please be aware that UPS models Aster 1K, Aster 2K and Aster
3K support only ONE Battery module.

Icon Descripon
MUTE: This icon appears whenever the UPS is in silent
mode. The alarm does not beep during silent mode unl
the baery reaches low capacity.
EBM
EBM: Indicate the numbers of external baery module.
SCHEDULE: Users can setup the schedule to turn on and
shut down the computer and UPS through Power Master
soware. The LCD display will show how much me is
le before the UPS will turn back on or shut down.
FAULT: This icon appears if there is a problem with the
UPS.
