1 INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the NORAC UC4 automated sprayer boom
height control system. This system is manufactured with top quality components
and is engineered using the latest technology to provide operating features and
reliability unmatched for years to come.
Your height control system has been factory installed to your Hardi sprayer by
Hardi Inc, however a few small steps are required to install the system interface to
your tractor. This document describes these instructions.

4 CONTROL PANEL MOUNTING
Install the UC4 Control Panel (Item E1) in the cab of the sprayer with the supplied
mounting bracket. Mount the panel where it will be clearly visible and within easy
reach of the operator. The location must facilitate connecting the UC4 power cable
(Item C10) to the bottom of the UC4 Control Panel.
Generally, a good spot to mount the UC4 Control Panel is on the right hand side of
the cab to the ROP (Roll-Over Protection) Bar. Hardware is included for mounting
the Panel (Item M6 and M7).

5 CABLE INSTALLATION

1. Connect C10 to the UC4 Control Panel in the sprayer cab. Ensure that both
plugs (P16A and P4) are connected to the panel.
2. Connect the 3-pin AMP connector of C10 to an auxiliary power connection
inside the cab.
-If an appropriate connector can not be found, it may be necessary to
cut off the connector(s) and splice into the existing wiring. Optional
power interface cables can also be ordered.
3. Route the receptacle end (R16) of C10 to the exterior of the cab and connect
to C11 at the hitch. Ensure cable is routed in a safe manner to avoid damage.

6 COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION
1. Turn on the power for the UC4 Control Panel using the switch on the side of its
chassis. Ensure that the display lights up to confirm that the panel has proper
+12 Volt power.
2. After a moment the UC4 panel will display the Main Operational Screen:

3. For optimal performance, the UC4 system must calibrate itself to the tractor
unit powering the sprayer hydraulics, which is an automated process.
Performing a RETUNE requires that the sprayer is unfolded and the
booms have full range of moment. This should also be performed on a flat
area of ground, over gravel or dirt. Do not attempt to perform a retune
over grass.
4. To initiate the RETUNE process, navigate from the Main Operational Screen to
the “RETUNE” menu, following the instructions below:
•Using the left-hand toggle switch on the UC4 panel, toggle the switch down
towards “Setup” until ↓RETUNE?↓ appears on the display.
•At this point, answer YES to the panel by toggling the right-hand toggle
switch up towards “Yes”.
•The panel will start the RETUNE process. Follow the on-screen prompts.

5. The installation of the UC4 system is now complete. Refer to the Quick Guide
(Item M2A) for operation instructions.
