1. INTENDED USE
The Economy Drop Down Safety Rail is a high quality wall mounted steel rail which provides a stable
support to assist the user raising and lowering themselves for toileting. The rail can be raised back to the
wall when not in use or when transferring from the side. It is not intended for use in a shower.
2. SAFETY
Warning: The maximum user weight must not be
more than 80Kg (12.5st).
Read these instructions before installing and use.
This product must be correctly assembled, installed,
and maintained.
This product must be installed by a suitably qualied,
competent, person.
Never drill through pre-stressed concrete to install
a folding support rail.
Always check for concealed electrical cables and
water pipes when installing; also check your legal
requirements relating to earth bonding of extraneous
metal parts.
Do not exceed the maximum load - Note this is based
on the product being tted to a suitable surface using
appropriate xings
3. UNPACKING
Remove the packaging and check all parts carefully.
Contact your supplier immediately if parts are
missing or damaged and do not try and assemble.
4. INSTALLATION PRECAUTIONS
Only install the product in an area where the
mounting surface and substrate are structurally
sound - Strengthening modications to the xing
surface may be required.
Also check the type of substrate you intend to x it to
e.g. brick/block timber or concrete. Always check that
the type of xing you are going to use is compatible
with the substrate.
Ensure that when correctly located, the rail can be
raised and lowered without interference from other
xtures and furniture and that transfer can be carried
out safely.
5. INSTALLATION
1 - Position Wall Plate against the wall at the height
required and mark the position of the holes.
2 - Drill the holes, as appropriate for the xings/
screws being used.
Note: As the substrate can vary considerably, we
do not recommend any particular xings; if in any
doubt; consult a reputable xing supplies company
for advice.
3 - Place Wall plate against wall and secure using the
chosen xings. When tted, check that it is securely
xed to the wall and that the arm can be raised and
lowered without interference. Also check that the
friction lock is e󰀨ective and that the support rail will
hold itself at any angle during movement (i.e. it does
not drop down on its own).

4 - Important; After installing the product, perform a
nal tighten and inspection of all fasteners
5 - Test the installation, ensure the rail is rigid and
stable.
6. MAINTENANCE
Periodically check the stability and rigidity of the
product and, where applicable, that screws are
tightened and in good condition. If you see any
damage or suspect a fault, do not use and contact
your supplier.
7. CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS
Clean regularly, wiping down using a soft cloth and
a mild detergent /disinfectant solution. Do not use
abrasive cleaners. Do not autoclave. Always ensure
that you wipe dry all equipment and treat joints with
a water dispersing agent e.g. WD40.
8. PRODUCT DISPOSAL
This product must be thoroughly cleaned/sterilised
prior to disposal.
This product is manufactured from metal and plastic
and can be disposed of through Local Authority
Household Waste and Recycling Centres or through
Local Trade Waste Collectors.
9. PRODUCT GUARANTEE
NRS Healthcare guarantee this product for a period
of 12 months, from the date of purchase, against
faulty materials and workmanship.
This guarantee does not cover; abuse, misuse,
interference or tampering with any part of the
product.
Any guarantee issued by NRS Healthcare does not
