1. INTRODUCTION
This manual contains installation, operation and maintenance instructions for the
Ohaus ValorTM 1000W Series Scales. Please read the manual completely before
using the scale.
1.1 Safety Precautions
Please follow these safety precautions:
• Verify AC Adapter input voltage matches the local AC power supply.
• Do not immerse the scale in water or other liquids.
• Do not operate the scale in hostile environments.
• Do not drop loads on the platform.
• Do not place the scale upside down on the pan.
• Service should only be performed by authorized personnel
• Disconnect the scale from the power supply when cleaning

2. INSTALLATION
2.1 Package Contents

2.2 Location
Use the scale on a firm, steady surface. Avoid locations with excessive air current,
vibrations, heat sources, or rapid temperature changes. Adjust the leveling feet so
the bubble is centered in the circle.

2.3 Power
Connect the AC Adaptor to the AC mains supply. Connect the plug to the DC jack on
the bottom of the scale (see Figure 1-1, item 9). The scale may be operated on the
AC mains supply or the built-in rechargeable battery.
2.3.1 Battery Power
The scale will automatically switch to battery operation if there is a power failure or
the power cord is removed. With AC power, the scale is constantly charging, so the
battery charge indicator (see Figure 1-1, item 1) will remain lit. The scale can be
operated during charging, and the battery is protected against over charging.
Before using the scale for the first time, the battery should be fully
charged for up to 12 hours.
CAUTION: Battery is to be replaced only by an authorized Ohaus service
dealer. Risk of explosion can occur if replaced with the wrong type or
connected improperly. Dispose of the lead acid battery according to
local laws and regulations.

Note:
•Charging the scale must be performed in a dry environment.
•After charging, re-install the rubber seal to the power input jack (Figure 1-1, item
9) to ensure the scale is protected when operating in a wet environment.
3. OPERATION
3.1 Turning Scale On/Off
To turn the scale on, short press the On/Off button. The scale momentarily displays
software version, performs a display test then enters the active weighing mode.
To turn the scale off, long press the On/Off button.
3.2 Zero Operation
Zero is set under the following conditions (see Section 4.2 to select Initial Zero and
Key Zero ranges):
• Automatically at Power On (initial zero)
• Manually by pressing the ZERO button
Press ZERO to zero the stable weight display.
3.3 Manual Tare
Place a container on the weighing pan, then press TARE. The display will show a
net value of “0”. To clear the Tare value, press TARE with the pan empty.
3.4 Weighing Mode
Use this mode to measure the weight of a sample in the selected unit of measure
(see Section 4.2 to select unit). Press ZERO to set the display to zero. Put an empty
container on the pan as needed, then press TARE to tare the container weight. Add
material to the container. The display shows the weight of the material in the
selected unit of measure.
3.5 Sleep Mode
Whether on AC power or batteries, with the pan empty and the scale stable and
inactive for 1 minute, the display digits will turn off and show only a blinking
decimal.

3.6 Accumulate Mode
Use this mode to store the weight and HI, LO, SUM statistics from a series of
samples.
• Press ZERO to set the display to zero.
• Place the item on the pan or tared container.
• Press M+ to store the weight of the item. Storage is confirmed by the display
[n----x], where x is the number of samples. The SUM LED will illuminate to
indicate there are readings in memory.
• Remove the item, wait for stable zero reading, then place the next item on the
pan. Press M+ to store the weight of the next item. Repeat this process until all
items have been weighed.
Review the accumulation data by pressing M+ when the display is at zero.
• The display shows the number of samples [n----x]
• Press M+ to view the maximum sample weight [Hxxxxx].
• Press M+ to view the minimum sample weight [Lxxxxx].
• Press M+ to view the sum of weights [xxxxx].
• Press M+ to return to weighing.
Clear the accumulated data by pressing ZERO when the number of samples [n----x]
is displayed.
Note:
• Only a total of 999 accumulated records [n 999] can be stored, and the sum
of the weights cannot exceed [999999]. [n OVEr] or [A OVEr] will be displayed
if these values are exceeded. Clear the Accumulate data to continue.
• Accumulated data is cleared when the unit of measure is changed.
3.7 Checkweigh Mode
Use this mode to compare samples to a target weight range (see section 4.1 to
activate and set limits).
Press ZERO to set the display to zero. Place a sample on the pan or tared container,
and read the displayed weight and under/accept/over status, where:
Under = weight is below preset minimum value
Accept = weight is equal to or within preset target range
Over = weight exceeds preset maximum value
Note: When the unit of measure is changed (see Section 4.2), checkweigh limits
and setting (see Section 4.1) will be reset to “0”.

4. MENU SETTINGS
Press and hold SET until [SEt-Fx] is displayed, where x:
0 = Set checkweigh limits and mode
1 = Set user settings
2 = Restore user settings to factory defaults
3 = Set tare capacity range
4.1 Checkweigh Over and Under Limits
•Press and hold SET until [SEt-F0] is displayed.
•Press YES to view the upper limit [000000] (or last value saved). The Over LED
will illuminate.
•Press h, j, ito edit the upper limit value (must be less than scale capacity).
•Press YES to confirm, then view the lower limit [000000] (or last value saved).
The Under LED will illuminate.
•Press h, j, ito edit the lower limit value (must be minimum of 20d scale
divisions, and less than upper limit).
•Press YES to confirm, then view the alarm setting [rUn x], where x:
0 = Checkweigh mode is disabled
1 = Checkweigh LEDs are active, beeper will sound when result is outside the
Accept range
2 = Checkweigh LEDs are active, beeper will sound when result is within the
Accept range
3 = Checkweigh LEDs are active, beeper is disabled
•Press hto step through available settings, then press YES to select.
•Press SET to save and exit.
Note: The measuring unit of the limit values will follow the active unit (see Section
4.2).

4.2 User Settings
Press and hold SET, then huntil [SEt-F1] is displayed. Press YES to enter and view
user settings [F1-0 x]:

4.3 Restore Settings to Default
Press and hold SET, then huntil [SEt-F2] is displayed. Press YES to enter and view
default user settings [F1-0 x].
Press YES to confirm displayed setting and proceed to next menu item.
Press SET to save and exit.
4.4 Set Tare Capacity
Press and hold SET, then huntil [SEt-F3] is displayed. Press YES to enter and view
tare capacity settings [tArE x], where x:
0 = 2/3 of scale capacity
1 = 100% of scale capacity
Press ji to toggle through available settings, then press SET to save and exit.
5. SCALE SETUP AND SPAN CALIBRATION
For best results, calibrate the scale at regular intervals. Temperature changes,
gravity variations and abuse are some reasons why a scale may need recalibration.
Enter calibration as follows:
•Turn the scale on.
•During the start-up display [000000…999999], press and hold SET until
[FS--SP] is displayed.
•Press YES to display [P x], where x = position of decimal point
•Press ji to toggle through settings: 0, 1, 2, 3, 4
•Press YES to select, then display [d x], where x = scale divisions
•Press ji to toggle through settings: 1, 2, 5, 10, 20, 50
•Press YES to select, then display scale capacity [xxxxxx] (kg)
•Press YES to select, then display [noLoAd]
•Make sure pan is empty, then press YES to display [LoAd]
•Press YES to select, then display default or last used span weight [xxxxxx] (kg)
•Press h, j, ito edit the displayed value (as needed)
•Place indicated weight on the scale, then press YES
•[CALEnd] is momentarily displayed to indicate calibration was successful, then
exit to weighing mode
•To abort calibration at any point, turn the scale off.

6. MAINTENANCE
Caution: before cleaning, turn the scale off and remove the AC adapter.
6.1 Cleaning
The housing may be cleaned with a cloth dampened with a mild detergent. Do not
use solvents, chemicals, alcohol, ammonia or abrasives.
Note: Install the rubber seal to the power input jack (Figure 1-1, item 9) securely to
ensure the scale is protected when cleaning in a wet environment.
6.2 Troubleshooting
The following table lists common problems and possible causes and remedies.

In conformance with the European Directive 2002/96/EC on Waste
Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) this device may not be
disposed of in domestic waste. This also applies to countries outside the
EU, per their specific requirements.
The Batteries Directive 2006/66/EC introduces new requirements from
September 2008 on removability of batteries from waste equipment in
EU Member States. To comply with this Directive, this device has been
designed for safe removal of the batteries at end-of-life by a waste
treatment facility.

LIMITED WARRANTY
Ohaus products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship from
the date of delivery through the duration of the warranty period. During the warranty
period Ohaus will repair, or, at its option, replace any component(s) that proves to
be defective at no charge, provided that the product is returned, freight prepaid, to
Ohaus.
This warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged by accident or
misuse, exposed to radioactive or corrosive materials, has foreign material
penetrating to the inside of the product, or as a result of service or modification by
other than Ohaus. In lieu of a properly returned warranty registration card, the
warranty period shall begin on the date of shipment to the authorized dealer. No

1. INTRODUCCIÓN
Este manual contiene instrucciones para la instalación, operación y mantenimiento
de las básculas Ohaus ValorTM Serie 1000W. Lea completamente el manual antes
de usar la báscula.
1.1 Precauciones de seguridad
Siga estas precauciones de seguridad:
• Verifique que el voltaje de entrada del adaptador de corriente alterna sea
compatible con la alimentación eléctrica de corriente alterna.

2. INSTALACIÓN
2.1 Contenido del paquete
• Báscula ValorTM 1000W

2.2 Ubicación
Coloque la báscula sobre una superficie firme y estable. Evite lugares con exceso de
corrientes de aire, vibraciones, fuentes de calor y cambios rápidos de temperatura.
Ajuste las patas de nivelación de manera que la burbuja quede centrada en el círculo.

2.3 Energía
Conecte el adaptador de corriente alterna en la red de alimentación eléctrica.
Conecte el enchufe en la conexión de corriente directa en la parte inferior de la
báscula (vea la Figura 1-1, No. 9). La báscula puede operarse con corriente
eléctrica o con la batería recargable integrada.
2.3.1 Energía de la batería
La báscula cambiará automáticamente a la operación con batería en caso de
interrupción de la energía eléctrica o si se retira el cordón eléctrico. Con corriente
alterna, la báscula carga constantemente y por lo tanto el indicador de carga de
batería (vea la Figura 1-1, No. 1) permanecerá encendido. La báscula puede
operarse durante la carga y la batería tiene protección contra sobrecarga.
Antes de usar la báscula por primera vez, la batería debe cargarse
completamente durante 12 horas. PRECAUCIÓN: Solamente un
distribuidor de servicio autorizado de Ohaus debe reemplazar la batería.
Puede ocurrir riesgo de explosión si se reemplaza con un tipo que no
sea el correcto o si conecta en forma incorrecta. Deseche las baterías de
plomo ácido de acuerdo con las leyes y regulaciones locales.

Nota:
•La carga de la báscula debe realizarse en un ambiente seco.
•Después de cargar la báscula, reinstale el sello de caucho en el conector de
entrada de corriente (Figura 1-1, componente 9) para asegurar que la báscula
esté protegida cuando se opere en un ambiente húmedo.
3. OPERACIÓN
3.1 Encendido y apagado de la báscula
Para encender la báscula, presione brevemente el botón On/Off. La báscula presenta
momentáneamente la versión del software, realiza una prueba de pantalla e ingresa en
el modo de pesaje activo.
Para apagar la báscula, presione continuamente el botón On/Off.
3.2 Operación de cero
El cero se establece en las siguientes condiciones (vea la sección 4.2 para
seleccionar los rangos cero y cero de tecla):
• Automáticamente en el encendido (cero inicial).
•Manualmente al presionar el botón ZERO.
Presione ZERO para poner en cero la pantalla de peso estable.
3.3 Tara manual
Coloque un recipiente en la bandeja de pesaje y presione TARE. La pantalla
mostrará un valor neto de “0”. Para borrar el valor de tara, presione TARE con la
bandeja vacía.
3.4 Modo de pesaje
Use este modo para determinar el peso de una muestra en la unidad de medida
seleccionada (vea la sección 4.2 para seleccionar la unidad). Presione ZERO para
poner la pantalla en cero. Coloque un recipiente vacío en la bandeja y presione
TARE para tarar el peso del recipiente. Agregue material al recipiente. La pantalla
muestra el peso del material en la unidad de medida seleccionada.
3.5 Modo de ahorro de energía
Ya sea que esté trabajando con la corriente eléctrica o con la batería, cuando la
bandeja está vacía y la báscula está estable e inactiva durante un minuto, los
dígitos de la pantalla se apagan y sólo se muestra un decimal parpadeando.

3.6 Modo de acumulación
Use este modo para guardar el peso y las estadísticas HI, LO, SUM (alto, bajo,
suma) de una serie de muestras.
• Presione ZERO para poner la pantalla en cero.
• Coloque la muestra sobre la bandeja o recipiente con tara determinada.
• Presione M+ para guardar el peso de la muestra. Al quedar guardado aparece
[n----x], donde x es el número de muestras. La LED SUM se iluminará para
indicar que hay lecturas en la memoria.
• Retire la muestra, espere la lectura estable de cero y entonces coloque la siguiente
muestra en la bandeja. Presione M+ para guardar el peso de la muestra.
Continúe este procedimiento hasta que haya pesado todas las muestras.
Revise los datos acumulados al presionar M+ cuando la pantalla esté en cero.
• La pantalla muestra el número total de muestras [n----x]
• Presione M+ para ver el peso máximo de la muestra [Hxxxxx].
• Presione M+ para ver el peso mínimo de la muestra [Lxxxxx].
• Presione M+ para ver la suma de los pesos [xxxxx].
• Presione M+ para regresar a pesar.
Para borrar los datos acumulados, presione ZERO cuando aparezca el número de
muestras [n----x].
Nota:
•Solamente puede almacenarse un total de 999 registros acumulados [n 999],
y la suma de los pesos no puede ser mayor de [999999]. Aparecerá [n OVEr]
o [A OVEr] si se exceden estos valores. Para continuar, borre los datos
acumulados.
•Los datos acumulados se borran cuando se cambia la unidad de medida.
3.7 Modo de peso de comprobación
Use este modo para comparar muestras con un rango de peso objetivo (vea la
sección 4.1 para activar y establecer límites).
Presione ZERO para poner la pantalla en cero. Coloque una muestra sobre la
bandeja o recipiente con tara determinada, y lea el peso mostrado y el estado Por
arriba (Over), Aceptar (Accept) o Por abajo (Under), donde:
Under = el peso está por debajo del valor mínimo predeterminado.
Accept = el peso es igual o está dentro del rango del objetivo predeterminado.
Over = el peso excede el valor máximo predeterminado.
Nota:Cuando se cambia la unidad de medida (vea la sección 4.2), los límites y
ajustes del peso de comprobación (vea la sección 4.1) se restablecerán a “0”.

4. CONFIGURACIONES DEL MENÚ
Mantenga presionado SET hasta que aparezca [SEt-Fx], donde x:
0 = Establece los límites y el modo de peso de comprobación
1 = Establece configuraciones del usuario
2 = Restablece las configuraciones del usuario a los parámetros de fábrica
3 = Establece el rango de capacidad de tara
4.1 Límites por arriba y por abajo del peso de comprobación
•Mantenga presionado SET hasta que aparezca [SEt-F0].
•Presione YES para ver el límite superior [000000] (o el último valor guardado).
La LED Over (por arriba) se iluminará.
•Presione h, j, ipara modificar el valor del límite superior (debe ser menor
que la capacidad de la báscula).
•Presione YES para confirmar y luego ver el límite inferior [000000] (o el último
valor guardado). La LED Under (por abajo) se iluminará.
•Presione h, j, ipara modificar el valor del límite inferior (debe ser de un
mínimo de 20d divisiones de báscula y menor que el límite superior).
•Presione YES para confirmar y luego vea la configuración de alarma [rUn x],
donde x:
0 = El modo de peso de comprobación está inhabilitado
1 = Las LED de peso de comprobación están activas, y la alarma sonará
cuando el resultado esté fuera del rango Accept
2 = Las LED de peso de comprobación están activas, y la alarma sonará
cuando el resultado esté dentro del rango Accept
3 = Las LED de peso de comprobación están activas y la alarma está
inhabilitada
•Presione hpara avanzar por las configuraciones disponibles y luego presione
YES para seleccionar.
•Presione SET para guardar y salir.
Nota:La unidad de medida de los valores de los límites seguirán a la unidad activa
(vea la sección 4.2).
