General Information
Omcan Manufacturing and Distributing Company Inc., Food Machinery of America, Inc. dba Omcan
and Omcan Inc. are not responsible for any harm or injury caused due to any person’s improper or
negligent use of this equipment. The product shall only be operated by someone over the age of 18, of
sound mind, and not under the inuence of any drugs or alcohol, who has been trained in the correct
operation of this machine, and is wearing authorized, proper safety clothing. Any modication to the
machine voids any warranty, and may cause harm to individuals using the machine or in the vicinity of
the machine while in operation.
CHECK PACKAGE UPON ARRIVAL
Upon receipt of an Omcan shipment please inspect for external damage. If no damage is evident on the
external packaging, open carton to ensure all ordered items are within the box, and there is no concealed
damage to the machine. If the package has suffered rough handling, bumps or damage (visible or concealed),
please note it on the bill of lading before accepting the delivery and contact Omcan within 24 hours, so we may
initiate a claim with the carrier. A detailed report on the extent of the damage caused to the machine must be
lled out within three days, from the delivery date shown in the shipping documents. Omcan has no recourse
for damaged products that were shipped collect or third party.
Before operating any equipment, always read and familiarize yourself with all operation and safety
instructions.
Omcan would like to thank you for purchasing this machine. It’s of the utmost importance to save
these instructions for future reference. Also save the original box and packaging for shipping the
equipment if servicing or returning of the machine is required.

This manual has been prepared to enable the correct installation, regulation and maintenance of the unit. It
is therefore of basic importance that the warnings contained in this booklet are carefully read as they supply
essential indications regarding the safety of the installation, use and maintenance. The appliance must be

installed, tested and serviced by qualied personnel only. Any adjustment whatsoever not expressly authorized
and in disrespect of this manual voids the warranty. Observe all existing local regulations at the time of
installation. Check that the characteristics of the electric grid correspond to the data given on the serial plate
of the appliance. The packing materials (plastic bags, polystyrene, nails, etc.) as potential hazards, must be
kept out of the reach of children and properly recycled according to the existing local regulations. For repairs
contact Omcan and request the use of original spare parts. If in doubt do not use the appliance and contact
Omcan. Not following the above conditions could risk the safety of those using the unit.
FOR YOUR SAFETY
Improper instillation, adjustment, alteration, service or maintenance can cause serious injury or property
damage. Keep heater away from areas where ammable liquids, gasoline, vapors or explosives are stored
or used. Gas leaks may cause a re or explosion which can cause damage to property, serious bodily injury
or death. Follow all leak-checking procedure before operating this unit highlighted in Step 8. If you smell gas:
shut off gas to appliance, extinguish any open ame and if odor continues, contact your gas supplier or local
re department. This unit consumes air provide 1 inch² of opening for fresh air for each 1,000 Btu/Hr Input
(2.22mm ² / Wof Input). Never use open ame to check for leaks. Fuel systems must be installed by qualied
and licensed personnel. Please contact your local gas supplier for these services.
• Always maintain at least 18” clearance (top) and 24” clearance (side) from combustible materials.
• Always place the heater on a hard a hard leveled surface.
• Do not use if the wind velocity is greater than 10 miles per hour.
• Unit will operate at reduced efciency below 40°F (5°C).
• It is normal for the heater to make hissing sounds at the start. This will decrease as the heater warms up.
• Keep sprinklers and other water sources away from burner and controls.
• Always use extreme caution when near the heater. Young children and pets should be supervised carefully
when they are near the heater. Do not hand clothing or ammable materials on or near the heater. To avoid
burns or clothing catching on re, alert both children and adults to the hazards of high temperatures.
• Certain materials or items are susceptible to damage due to radiant heat when stored under heater.
• Do not alter heater in any manner.
• Inspect heater before each use. If a damaged part is detected, do not operate the heater until an original
Omcan replacement part has been properly installed. Use of unauthorized parts will void warranty and
create an unsafe condition.
• Prior to operating heater, replace any guards or protective devices removed from servicing.
• During operation, the surface of the heater of the burner assembly is very hot and should not be touched
• After shutdown, do not touch burner assembly until heater has completely cooled down (approximately 45
minutes after use.)
• The appliance and its individual shut off valve must be disconnected from the gas supply pipping system
during any pressure testing. The system should be tested in the pressure in excess of 1/2 psig (3.5kpa).
• The appliance must be isolated from the gas supply piping system by closing its individual manual shut off
valve during any pressure testing of the gas supply piping system at test pressure equal to or less than 1/2
psig (3.5kpa).
• Always perform a leak test on ga connections whenever heater is serviced. Never use a ame to test for
leaks. Do not smoke while performing a test leak.
• Caution: It is essential to keep the heater’s valve compartment, burners and circulating air passage clean.

• Small insects can enter the burner tube or other openings of the heater. These obstructions can lead to gas
ow problems. Before operating the unit for the rst time, be sure to check for obstructions that may have
occurred during shipment.
• Inspect heater before each use and have it inspected annually by a qualied service person.
• Carbon deposits may create a re hazard. Keep dome and emitter clean at all times.
• Do not clean heater with combustible or corrosive cleaners. Use warm, soap water.
• Do not paint radiant screen, control panel or top canopy reector.
CAUTION:
Liquid propane (LP) gas is ammable and hazardous if handled improperly. Become aware of the
characteristics before using any LP product. LP characteristics include: ammable, explosive, heavier than air-
settles in low areas. In its natural state, propane has no order. For your safety, an odorant is added that smells
like rotten cabbage.
• Contact with liquid LP can cause freeze burns to skin.
• This heater is shipped from the factory for LP gas use only.
• Use only Department of Transportation (DOT) approved “20 lbs.” LP gas cylinders (same commonly used
for gas grills) with Acme Type 1/QCC safety valves. These can valves can be quickly identied by their
external and internal threads.
• The cylinder must be provided with a shutoff valve termination in an LP-gas supply cylinder valve outlet
specied, as applicable, for connection NO. 510 in the standard for compressed Gas Cylinder Valve outlet
and Inlet connections, ANSI/ CGA-V1.
• The cylinder supply system must be arranged for vapor withdrawal.
• The cylinder supply system must include a collar to protect the cylinder valve.
• Never use a cylinder with a damaged body, valve, collar or foot ring.
• When heater is not use, turn Control Valve OFF.
• Always perform a leak test on gas connection whenever a cylinder is connected (see step 8).
Check heater immediately if any following condition exists:
• The smell of gas in conjunction with extreme yellow tipping of burners ames.
• Heater does not reach proper temperature. At temperature less than 40F, heat output will be reduced.
• Heater’s glow is excessively uneven.
• Burner makes popping noises during use. Note: A slight pop is normal when burner is extinguished.
1 YEAR PARTS AND LABOUR WARRANTY
Within the warranty period, contact Omcan Inc. at 1-800-465-0234 to schedule an Omcan authorized
service technician to repair the equipment locally.
Unauthorized maintenance will void the warranty. Warranty covers electrical and part failures, not
improper use.

Familiarize yourself with all components before proceeding. Do not attempt assembly unless all components
are available. If you believe a component is missing or damaged, contact Omcan for assistance.
Note: All hardware is mounted on a cardboard pack.
Additional Requirements:
The following items are not included but are necessary for the proper assembly of your heater. DO NOT
attempt to assemble without proper tools. An open end wrench (10 & 13mm) is necessary and will be included
in the parts bag.

without difculty.
In any case, for suitable recycling, we suggest disposing of the products separately (differentiated
waste) according to the current norms.

Installation
Tools needed:
• Adjustable opening wrench (20 cm / 8” long).
• Slip joint pliers (23 cm / 9” long).
• Phillips screw-driver with medium blade.
• Teon plumbing tape for joints.
• Spray bottle of soap solution for leakage test.
ASSEMBLY
Caution: You must follow all steps to properly assemble heater.
Step 1
1. Attach wheel assembly to base. Put 3 pcs post brackets on each position on the stand.
2. Use 3 pcs bolts (M8 x 16mm) to join the brackets and stand.
Step 2
1. Put the post onto the top of 3 pcs post brackets.
2. Use 6 pcs bolts (M6 x 16mm) to join the brackets and the stand.
3. Tighten the bolts and nuts.
NOTE: Labels are shown as compatible with the characteristics of the
display.
Step 3
1. Put the gas line through the post.
Step 4
1. To secure the reector support bolts on the emitter screen cap with 3 pcs screws (90mm
long) & 3 pcs washer (Ø 8mm).
2. Connect the screws & washers to the emitter.
3. Tighten the screws.
Step 5
1. Fit the gas line nut into the gas inlet connector of burner
2. Tighten the gas line nut and gas inlet thread.
3. Put the burner with gas line into the post.
4. Fix the burner base to the post by 4 pcs bolts (M6 x 10 mm).
Step 6
1. Attach regulator to tank and complete attachment.
2. Put LPG gas tank into stand.

Check for leaks
1. Make 2-3 oz. of leak check solution by mixing one part liquid dish washing and three part
water.

FOR YOUR SAFETY:
If at anytime your are unable to light ame and smell gas, wait 5 minutes to allow gas to
dissipate before attempting to light heater. Do NOT touch or move heater for at least 45
minutes after use. Allow all burner elements to cool before touching.
BEFORE TURNING THE GAS SUPPLY ON:
• Do NOT use the product inside a building, garage, or any other enclosed area.
• Ensure surrounding areas are free of combustible materials such as gasoline and other
ammable vapor or liquids.
• Ensure air ventilation and cylinder cover are free from obstructions or debris
• Ensure that any components removed during assembly or servicing are replaced and
fastened prior to starting.
BEFORE LIGHTING
• Heater should be thoroughly inspected before each use by a qualied service person and
maintained annually.
• Wait minimum 5 minutes before relighting a hot heater.
2. Turn gas source ON.
3. With the gas supply turned on, spray some soap solution onto Gas Line and Control Valve
connections.
4. Inspect the solution at the connection is secure.
5. The connection is secure if NO bubbles are visible.
6. If bubbles appear there is a leak.
7. Turn gas source OFF and loosen screw on Clip.
8. Release Gas line tting from control valve and re-attach making sure
connection is secure.
9. Re-light clip. If you continue to see bubbles after several attempts,
contact Omcan for assistance.
CAUTION: The outdoor heater has been checked at all factory
connections for leaks. Recheck all connections, as movement in
shipping can loosen connections. Check for leaks even if your unit
was assembled for you at the store.

Operation
LIGHTING
1. The gas supply cylinder should be completely turned ON.
2. Push Control Knob IN at the OFF position then turn counterclockwise to High/Light
position.
3. Push the Control Knob In and press the ignitor button several times to light the burner.
Hold for 30 seconds. Release the control knob when burner lights up.
• Flame is display through the Viewing Hole.
• Release the control knob after the ame lights up. If the ame does not light up or goes
out, REPEAT STEP 3.
Note: If a new tank has been connected, wait a few minutes to allow air in the gas
pipeline to ow at the High / Light position.
4. Turn the control knob in the desired temperature position
Note: If you are experiencing any ignition problems, refer to the “Troubleshooting”
section.
MATCH LIGHTING
1. Turn cylinder valve ON.
2. Push the Control Knob IN at the OFF position then turn counter to High/Light position and release.
3. Using a long match (minimum 4” long), insert it into the viewing hole.
4. Push the Control Knob in and light the burner.
5. Flame will ignite and continue to push the control knob for 30- 60 seconds after the ame is on. Release
the knob when the ame remains.
6. If the ame disappears repeat step 1.
7. Turn knob to desired temperature position.
TURNING OFF THE HEATER
Turn the control knob clockwise to Low position and press lightly to Off position.
Turn off the valve on the gas supply cylinder to shut down the heater completely.
RELIGHTING
Turn the knob to OFF position. Wait at least 5 minutes to let gas dissipate before attempting to re-light the
product. Repeat “Lighting” steps.
WARNING
1. Check whole gas system, hose, regulator or burner should be inspected for leak before use.
2. Check the hose assembly for sign on extreme abrasion, cuts or wears. Suspected areas should be leak
tested. If must be replaced with the one specied in the Parts Breakdown section.
3. Make sure the ventilation opening of the cylinder enclosure, control compartment, burner and circulation air
passageways of the heater are free and clear of debris.

Operation
To keep exterior surfaces clean, use warm soapy water and never use ammable or corrosive cleaning agents.
While cleaning your unit, be sure to keep the area around the burner are dry at all times. Do not submerge the
control valve assembly. If the gas control is submerged in water, do NOT use it (this product must be replaced).
Keep controls, burner and circulating air passageways clean at all times. Air ow must be free of obstructions.
Signs of blockage include: gas odor with extreme yellow tipping of the ame, heater does not reach the desired
temperature, heater glow is excessively uneven, heater makes popping noises.
Insects can nest in the burner or orices which can damage the heater and render it unsafe for use. Clean
burner holes by using a heavy-duty pipe cleaner. Compressed air may help clear away smaller particles.
Carbon deposits may cause a re hazard. Clean reector and emitter screen with warm soapy water if any
carbon deposits develop.
NOTE: Corrosion can occur quickly in salt-air environments (such as the ocean), Frequently check for
corroded areas and repair them promptly.
TIP: Use high-quality automobile wax to help maintain the appearance of your heater. Apply to exterior
surfaces from the pole down. Do not apply to emitter screen or domes.
4. Always keep a dry chemical re extinguisher readily available. Allow the product to completely shut off for 5
minutes before re-lighting the heater.
5. Do not move or cover the product with a protective cover until completely cooled down.
CAUTION:
Do not inhale the fumes emitted from the heater after. Smoke and odor from the burning oils used in
manufacturing will appear. Both smoke and odor will dissipate after approximately 30 minutes. The heater
should NOT produce thick black smoke.
Note: During the start of the product it is normal for the heater to create hissing sounds. This will
decrease as the heater warms up.
WHEN HEATER IS ON
Emitter screen will transition to bright red due to intense heat and the color will be more visible at night.
Burner will display tongues of blue and yellow ame. An obstruction of airow through the burners occurs when
yellow ames or black smoke is produced. If excessive yellow ame is detected, turn off heater and consult to
“Troubleshooting.”

STORAGE
DANGER: CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD
This appliance can produce carbon monoxide which has no odor. Using it in an enclosed space can KILL you.
Never use this appliance in an enclosed space such as: camper, tent, car or home.
FOR YOU SAFETY:
Storage of an appliance indoors is permissible only if the cylinder is disconnected and removed from the
appliance. Cylinders must be stored outdoors in a well-ventilated area out of reach of children. Disconnected
cylinders must have threaded valves plugs tightly installed and must not be stored in a building, garage or any
other enclosed area. Do NOT touch or move heater for at least 45 minutes after each use.
BETWEEN USES:
1. Turn control knob OFF.
2. Turn the LP tank valve OFF.
3. Disconnect LP tank.
4. Store heater upright in an area sheltered from direct contact with inclement weather (such as rain, sleet,
hail, snow, dust or debris).
5. If desired, cover heater to protect exterior surfaces and to help prevent build up in air passages.
Note: Wait until heater cools down before covering the product.
PERIODS OF EXTENDED INACTIVITY OR WHEN TRANSPORTING
1. Turn control knob OFF.
2. Turn the LP tank valve OFF.
3. Disconnect LP tank and move to a secure, well-ventilated location outdoors.
4. Store heater upright in an areas sheltered from direct contact with inclement (such as rain, sleet, hail, snow,
dust or debris).
5. If desired, cover heater to protect exterior surfaces and to help prevent build up in air passages. Never
leave LP canister to direct sunlight or excessive heat.
Note: Wait until heater cools down before covering the product.
