Safety precautions:
•Before putting the machine into operation please read the safety
precautions, manufacturer recommendation and the operation manual.
The operation manual should be easily available at any time for the
operator.
•The machine should be installed on a sturdy and level surface near the
230V socket
•The machine should be protected against moisture and dust
•Do not place the machine near the heating units or ventilation units
•The machine should not be used in vicinity of inflammable liquids or
gases
•The supplying cable should be protected against any damage, must not
be used to pull the machine or to remove plug from a socket
•During a long standstill or before replacing the machine, unplug the
machine from the socket
•The machine is turned off completely after removing the plug from
a socket
•The machine should be kept away from children’s reach
•Danger! Machine contains rotary elements. Be careful with long hair,
loose jewellery, ties and other loose pieces of clothing – they can
become entangled in cutting head.
•Be careful when reaching the feeding slot
•Use the machine only according to its destination!
•It is necessary to check and supervise if the machine operates
correctly. In case of any malfunctions it is required to contact service
point.
•The machine must not be located outside, should be operated in room
temperature higher than +8°C
•Before removing any cover from the machine, unplug the machine from
the socket
•Using inappropriate lubricants causes fire hazard!
•The machine should be operated according to general safety rules.
•Any repairs can be conducted only by authorised staff.

Possible malfunctions:
When the machine does not function or functions incorrectly, please check
the following:
•If the machine is plugged in?
•If the main switch is on “ON” position?
•If there is no paper stuck inside the shredding mechanism?
•If the cutting head is installed correctly? (the safety switch located
under the cutting head works only if the cutting head and waste bin
are correctly installed)
In case of further malfunctions contact authorized service team.
Cleaning of the volume for shreds:
Cleaning the volume for shreds is necessary, when the shreds can be seen
in the bin window. To empty the bin:
•Pull the shred bin out of the shredder.
•Empty the bin.
•Push the bin into the shredder.
Some paper scraps may remain inside the shredding mechanism after
emptying the shred bin, it can cause increasing sound level temporarily.
Maintenance:
To prevent reduction of efficiency and increase of sound level as well as to
prolong machine lifespan, it is necessary to oil cutting shafts regularly. After
filling the waste bin for several times, the blades should be greased with
special oil (provided by OPUS). Put the oil on few pieces of paper and
shred them so that the oil was spread on the whole cutting mechanism.

Recommendations:
•The machine is designed to shred paper, plastic cards and
CD/DVDs.
•Clean up the waste bin frequently
•The shredder can be operated only with paper bin included.
•To ensure long and faultless utilisation of the machine do not shred
more than 20 sheets of 70g/m². Do not shred computer printout,
PVC foil, coated paper or cardboard – it can cause damage of
cutting mechanism.
•Do not shred more than one CD at one time. Before shredding put
the CD into the envelope or between two sheets of paper.
•NOTE! Desk-side shredders are not designed for continuous
operation.
•It is recommended to make 30 minutes break after every 15
minutes of shredding. The shredder is protected against
overheating. When the max temperature of engine is exceeded the
machine turns off automatically.
•Do not set REV mode, if it is not necessary
NOTE! Not complying with the recommendations above can result
with warranty void.

•Pull out the volume for shreds. Push four castors into the wholes at the
bottom of the bin and secure it by the gum covers.

OVERHEAT – cool down the motor for 30

Operation:
The main switch is located at the top of the shredder. It can be set in three
positions:
•ON/OFF – after choosing this option the machine is ready to operation.
Starts automatically when the paper is inserted and stops automatically
when no further paper is inserted.
•FWD – this option is recommended for cleaning scraps of paper on the
cutters. This button works only during ON-mode
•REV –this position helps to remove paper if it gets stuck inside the
cutting shafts. It can also be used for cleaning shredding mechanism.
When the waste bin is full the machine does not work →removing shreds
from the bin is necessary.
