Wepresumethatyouareexperiencedinthefieldofirrigation.Wehavethereforekept

operatinginstructionsandifanydefectemergeswithinthewarrantyperiod.
Wereservetherighttomakechangesinlinewithtechnologicaladvances,includingwithout
priornotice.
2.Safety
Theseoperatinginstructionscontainsomefundamentalinstructionsthatmustbefollowed
wheninstalling,operating,servicingandmaintainingthesprinkler.Itisthereforeimperative
thattheseinstructionsarereadbythefitterandtherelevantspecialisedstaff/operators
priortoinstallationandcommissioning.
Attentionmustbepaidnotjusttothegeneralsafetyinformationsetoutinthis'Safety'
section,butalsotothespecialsafetyinstructionsincludedintheothersections.

Thesprinklerisusedfortheevendistributionofwaterontolawns,greenspacesand
sportsfieldslaidwithnaturalorartificialgrass.Thewatershouldbepre‐cleanedand
freeofanycoarseorfibrouscontamination.Thewaterandambienttemperatures
mustbebelowthelimitsspecifiedinthetechnicaldata.
2.3Clearlyimproperuse
Operationofthepop‐upsprinklerbyunauthorisedpersonnel(ifthecontrol
unitisfreelyaccessible).
Operationofthesprinklerwiththesectortobewateredwronglyset,e.g.asthe
resultofvandalism.Thiscanresultinthejetofwaterbeingdirectedtotheside
awayfromthegrassedarea.

5.1Hazardwarnings
Ifanyimpuritiesgetintothesprinkler,itispossiblethatthesprinklercould
bedestroyedandthatfitterscouldbeinjured.Thereforeflushouttheline
thoroughlybeforeconnectingthewatersupply.
Anyunexpectedemergenceofajetofwatercanleadtoseriousinjury.
Thereforemakesurethattheinstallationhasbeenfullycompletedbefore
turningonthewatersupply.
5.2Installationinstructions
Thethreadconnectiononthepop‐upsprinkleris2"FT.
Forthethreadsealusehempandsealingcompound,e.g.FermitSpezialor
teflontape.
Thepop‐upsprinklershouldbefittedinaccordancewiththe'PerrotVP3pop‐
upsprinklerinstallationdiagram'(seenextpage).Inordertoavoidanyload
pressureonthemainline,youshoulddefinitelyuseaflexibleconnection.
Providingadrainagepitdirectlyconnectedtothedrainage,asshowninthe
installationdiagram,isverymuchrecommended.
Forscrewingintheconnectionjointthehousingorhousingedgeofthepop‐up
sprinklercanbefirmlyheldorclamped.

6.1Potentialdanger
Whenitstartsup,thepop‐upsprinklerrisesupoutofthehousingandbuilds
upfullpressurewithinabout5seconds.Thejetofwateremittedcancause
injury.Forthisreasonthefollowingguidancemustbefollowedwhen
commissioningandoperatingthesprinkler:
Whenthesprinklerisbeingoperatedinautomaticmode,theremustbe
nobodypresentinthearea.
Operatingpersonnelmustnotstandinthedirectionofthesprinkler's
jet.Thejet'sdirectionismarkedonthecoverbyanarrow.

Ifthesprinklerisnotinstalledflushwiththeground,peoplemaybeinjured
byafallasaresultofstumblingortripping.Thereforecheckpriorto
commissioningandregularlyduringongoingusewhetherthesprinklercover
shutsflushwiththesurroundingground.
Thesprinklermustnotbeoperatedwithoutaclosedcoverforthecable
compartment.Duringoperationthesprinklerheadpropsitselfagainstthe
edgeofthecoverandcannotrotatefreelywithoutthecover.

a) Checkelectricalfunction:
Beforeanywatersupplytothesprinklerisopened,activatethecoilbymeansof
thecontroller.Ifyouheara'clicking'soundfromthecoil,theelectricsare
workingproperly.(Theclickisproducedbythemovementofthearmature.)
b) Ensurethat<Manualopening>issettoAUTO(turnscrewfor<Manual
opening>asfarasitwillgototheleft).Thissettingensuresthatafterwateris
suppliedthesprinklerclosesifithasnopower.
c) Slowlyopensupplyofwatertothesprinkleruntiloperatingpressureisbuiltup.
Itispossiblethatthesprinklerwillbrieflyopen,butshouldthenautomatically
closeafteratmost30seconds.
d) Oncethewatersupplyhasbeenopenedandmax.operatingpressurehasbeen
reached,checksprinklerandconnectionforleaks.
e) Checkthatsprinklerisworkingproperly:Opensprinklerusing<Manual
opening>bymovingthescrewfor<Manualopening>intothepositionbetween
AUTOandOFF(approx.1rotation).Sprinklerheadrisesandstartstorotate.
Donotstandinfrontofthenozzleopening!
f) Close<Manualopening>andputintoAUTOposition(seepoint6.2b).
Sprinklermuststopwaterflowwithin30seconds.
g) Keeprepeatingsteps'e'and'g'untilthesprinklerisworkingfaultlessly.
h) Checkonceagainthatitworkscorrectlywhenactivatedelectricallyfromthe
controller.
