shoesareparticularly recommended foroutdoor work. Weara protective coveringtocontainlonghair.
Always wearsafetygoggles.A maskshould also beusediftheoperationgeneratesdust.
Connectthedustremoval equipment.Ifanydustrecoverysystemsareavailable,makesuretheyareconnectedand
usedcorrectly.
Takecareoftheelectricalcord.Neverpullthecordtodisconnect itfromthesocket.Keepthecordawayfromheat,
oilandsharp edges.
Secure the workpiece. As faraspossible, use clampsora vicetoholdtheworkpiece.Donotholdtheworkpiecein
placewithyourhands.
Donotbendoverthetool.Keepyourbalanceatall times.
Keepthetoolsinperfectcondition.Keeptoolssharpandcleanformaximumefficiency andsafety.Followthe
instructionswhilelubricatingandchangingaccessories.Regularlycheckthecordandreplaceitifdamaged.Keep
thehandlesdry,cleanandfreeofoilandgrease.
Disconnectthetoolwhennotinuse,beforemaintenanceworkandbeforechangingaccessoriessuchasblades,drill
bits, cutters, etc.
Keepawayanytighteningandadjustingkeys. Getintothehabitofmakingsure thattighteningandadjustingkeys
havebeenmovedawayfromthetoolbeforestartingitup.
Avoidunintentionalstartingup.Makesure thattheswitchissettoOFFbeforeyouconnectthetool.
Onlyuse extensioncordsdesignedforoutdooruse.Whileusingthetooloutdoors,only use extensioncordsthat
havebeendesignedforoutdooruse,markedtothateffect.

5.Whileusingthesawasa mitresawandplungecutting,makesurethatthesawslidemechanismislockedtostopit
movingbacktowardstheoperator.

7.Placethesupportona flatandhorizontalsurfacetostopthemachinefromrockingortipping.
8.Makesuretheextensionsarelockedproperlybeforestartingthetool.

17.Alwaysmakesure thatthefasteningleversarefastenedbeforestartingtocut.
18.Makesure thatthebladeandflangesarecleanandthatthespindlescrewistight.

20.Neverusebladeswitha diameterthatislargerorsmallerthanthatrecommended.Neveruse bladeswitha

39.Disconnectthesawfromthepowersupplybeforemaintenanceworkorchangingtheblade.
40. Afteruse,disconnect thesawfromthepowersupplyandclean it.
41. Makesure thattheworkingareaiscleanbeforeleavingthemachine.
42.Ifanypart ofthesaw is missing,damaged or faultyor if anelectricalpartdoesnotworkcorrectly,switchoffthe
saw anddisconnect itfromthepowersocket.Replacethemissing,damagedorfaultypart beforerestartingthe
saw.
43.Pleasekeeptheseinstructionsforfutureuse.Refertothemfrequentlyandusethemtoinformotherusers.

CONNECTING THE MACHINE - ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
EXTENSIONCORDS
Onlyuse extensioncordswiththreeconductorsendingintwo-pinplugsandsocketswithtwoholesandanearthpinthat
are suitedtotheplugofthetool.Whenusinga powertool at a considerabledistancefromthepowersource,useanexten-
sioncordheavyenoughtocarrythecurrentthatthetoolwill draw. Anundersizedextensioncordwillcausea dropinline
voltage,resultingin a lossofpowerandcausingthemotortooverheat. Usethechartprovidedbelowtodeterminethemini-
mumwiresize required in anextensioncord.Onlyroundjacketedextensionlistedbylaboratoriesshouldbeused.

doesnotoperatewhenpluggedintoa socket,double-checkthepowersupplycharacteristics.

UNPACKING AND CLEANING
Your newdoublebevelslidingcompound mitre sawisshippedcompleteinabox. Unpack itcarefullyalong with allits spare
parts. Take the protective coating off all theunpainted parts. This protective coatingmayberemoved with asoft cloth mois-
tened with WD40. Donotuseacetone, petrol orpaintthinner.
IMPORTANT: Donot lift the mitre saw bythe operating handle as that could upset the alignments. Always lift the tool byits
base orits carrying handle if it has one.
NB: ifanypartsaredamagedormissing, do notconnect the mitre sawanddonotsettheswitchtoON until the damagedor
missingparts have beenreplacedor obtained andinstalledcorrectly.
Donot dispose of the packingbox before the sawisfullyassembled.
't\: While cleaning the machine after
unpacking, do notuse petrol orany other petroleum-based
thinner as these products are extremely flammable. The use
of such products can lead toa risk of explosion or fire. Ge-
nerally, all the solvents used for cleaning machines are toxic
when inhaled or ingested. Always work ina well ventilated
area away from potential sources of solvents. Wear a mask.
The mitre sawissupplied with the cutting armlocked in the
transport position.Tounlock the cutting arm, pushit down,
pull and turn thelockingknob (A) Fig. 1.

1. ASSEMBLING THE MITRE HANDLE
Beforeusingyourdoublebevelslidingcompoundmitresaw,youmust assemble themitrehandle(J)Fig.2.
Screw thehandleon (J).The handleis used tolockthetableattherequiredanglewhilecuttingmitres.
, IMPORTANT! Before starting a cut, make sure that this handle is locked and that thesaw table is locked In place.

2. TABLE ROTATION AND MITRE STOPS
Thetablehasmitrestopsat0°,15°,22.5°,30°and45°tothe left and right. Whenyouturnthetable,itwillautomaticallystop
at thenextstop.
Toturnthetable,make sure thatthemitrehandleisunlockedandturnthetabletotherequiredangle. Then tightenthe
mitre handleoncemore.
3. ASSEMBLING THE SAW VICES
Theverticalandhorizontal vices maybe fitted tothe left or
right ofthesawandarefullyadjustabletotheworkpiece.
Donotusethesaw without first clampingtheworkpiece.
Positionthevertical vice (A) Fig.3 byinsertingtherod(B)of
the vice intooneoftheholesontheguidefenceandtighten
the lockingknob(C)againsttherod ofthe vice.

Positionthehorizontal vice byinsertingitintooneofthe
holeslocatedonthe base ofthesaw.
Toadjustthe vice position.'turnthehandleor lift theknob
(B) Fig.4 andthenpushorpullthe vice dependingonthe
size oftheworkpiecetoclamp.
Lockthe vice inpositionbypressingknob(B)againstthe
threadedrod(A).
4. VICE OPERATION
1.Theheightofthevertical vice orthewidthofthehorizontal vice maybeadjustedbylooseningthelockingknobsand
slidingthebodyofthe vices up, down, forward orbackwards. Once theheightorwidthofthe vice hasbeen adjusted,tighten
the lockingknobsoncemore.
2.Positionthevertical vice orhorizontal vice sothattheundersideofthe pads isslightlyincontact with thetopofthework-
piece.
3.Tofinallyclamptheworkpieceagainstthetable,screwtheknobsuntiltheworkpieceisclamped.After cutting, loosenthe
lockingknobsto slide awayorremovetheworkpiece.
5. ASSEMBLING THE LATERAL EXTENSION WINGS
Themitresawissupplied with twolateralextensionwings
(A) Fig.5 tosupportlargerworkpieceswhentheyarebeing
cut. Theextensionwingsmaybe assembled oneither side of
the saw,dependingonthe size oftheworkpiece.
Loosenthelockingknob(B),inserttheextensionwingsin
the holeslocatedoneither side ofthesaw base andtighten
the lockingknob(B)oncemore.

6. ASSEMBLING THEREAR EXTENSION
This mitresawhasa rearextension(A)Fig.6,whichmakes
the sawmorestableif the headisaccidentallyreleasedby
preventing it from tilting backwards.

7. ASSEMBLING THE DUST BAG
Insert thedustbag(A) Fig.7 into theconnection port (B)and
check that itisproperlysecured.
If youwishtoimprovedustremoval,a vacuumcleaner with
adustremovalpipemaybeconnecteddirectlytotheextrac-
tion elbowof the saw.
NB:Emptythebagregularlyinorder to avoida buildupof
dust. Thedustbaghasa zipfastenertomakeiteasierto
empty.Thedustbagmayalsoberinsed with warmsoapy
water anddriedbeforereuse.
Makesure that thebag'szipfastenerisclosed before you
use the saw.
j\T I Dust particles can give rise to
* respiratory problems. For yourown protection, the
use ofdustmasksthatcomply with applicable standardsis
recommended.
8. GUIDE FENCE EXTENSIONS
Theguidefencemaybeextendedonthe sides while cutting
wide workpieces. Todoso:
1.LoosentheAllenkeyscrew(B) Fig.8 usingtheAllenkey.
2.Loosenthelockingknob(C).
3. Slide theextension(A)totherequiredpositionand tigh-
ten thescrew(B)andtheknob(C)oncemore.
ASSEMBLYAND ADJUSTMENTS
/j\:Beforeadjustingthesaw,makesureitisdisconnectedfromthepower source.
.5rsafe,accurateandeffectivesawoperation,thefollowingadjustmentproceduresmustbe complied with.
Whenall theadjustmentshavebeenmade,makesure thatallthekeysandtoolsare outside the machine andthatall the
screws,boltsandotherfastenersarecorrectlyfastened.
Donotuse thesawbeforefollowingtheseprocedures.
While youmaketheseadjustments,checkthatall theexternalparts areoperatingcorrectlyandarein good condition.
Any damaged orbrokenpartsmustbereplacedbya qualified personbeforethesawisused.

1. FASTENING THESAWTOA SURFACE
Before use,thesawmustbefastenedsecurelytoa levelsurface.
1.Fourholesarelocatedattheendsofthesaw base tofastenthesawtoa workbenchor other supporting surface.
2. If you uselateralextensionwings,fit thembeforesecuringthesawtothe supporting surface.
3.Ifthesawis often moved,mountitona plywood base (atleast20mm thick), whichcanthenbe easily clampedtoany
maintaining surface.
|\T 1 Make sure thattheplywoodbaseisnot corrugated, asa basethatisnot level wouldhavean adverse
effect on cutting.
Check the following adjustmentstobesureofachievinganexactcut.
2. INSPECTION AND ADJUSTMENT OF ANGLES IN RELATION TOTHEBLADE
The different anglepositionsformitrecutshavebeen adjustedinthe factory. However,forprecision work, check whether the
anglesarecorrect before youuseyourmitresaw.
ADJUSTING THE GUIDE FENCE FOR A go' MITRE CUT
Makesure that thebladeisperpendiculartotheguidefence.
1.Lockdownthesawhead, tightening thelockingknobtoputthesawinthe transport position(seeFig.i).
2.Loosenthemitrehandleandsetit 0°.Tighten themitrehandleoncemore.
3.Loosenthebevel adjustmenthandleontherearofthemachineandsetthebevelto0°.Then tighten thebeveladjustment
handleoncemore.
4.Setoneendof 3 square(notsupplied)againsttheguidefenceandthe other againstthesawblade.Makesure that the
squareiscorrectlypositionedalongtheblade without touchingits teeth. Whenthesquareiscorrectly positioned, itstwo
endsmustbefullyincontact with thesawbladeandtheguidefence.

ADJUSTING THE SAW TABLE IN RELATION TO THE BLADE
Makesure that thesawbladeisperpendiculartothesawtable.
1.Lockdownthesawhead, tightening thelockingknobtoputthesawinthe transport position(seeFig.i).
2.Loosenthemitrehandleandsetito°.Tightenthemitrehandleoncemore.
3.Loosenthebevel adjustmenthandleontherearofthemachineandsetthebeveltoo°.Then tighten thebeveladjustment
handleoncemore.
4.Setoneendofa square(notsupplied)onthetableandthe other againstthe flat partofthesawblade.Makesure that
the squareisincontact with thebladebutdoesnottouchits teeth. Whenthesquareiscorrectly positioned, thetwoendsof
the squaremustbefullyincontact with thesawbladeandthetableof the mitresaw.
5. If the sawbladedoesnotfullytouchtheendof the square:
• Unfastenthelockingnuts(A) Fig.10 (locatedoneithersideof the beveladjustmenthandle)toreleasethetwo
bolts (B).
• Loosenthebeveladjustmenthandle(C)andpulltheadjustment button (D) towards you.
• Place thesquareagainstthesawtable.

• Adjustthetwobeveladjustmentbolts(B) until
the twoendsofthesquareareincontact with the
bladeandthetable.
• Tightenthebevel lockhandle(C)andthelocking
nuts (A)oncemore.
• Makesureonceagain that thesawblade is
perpendicular tothesawtable.
6.Makesure that thebevel angleindicator is aligned with

3. SETTING THEBEVELANDSTOP
Youmaysetthebevel from o to45°tothe right and left.
1.T0setthebevel,loosenthebeveladjustmenthandle(A)

2.To tilt theheadtothe left, unlocktheadjustmenthandle
(A) and tilt thehead from o to450 until therequiredbevel
isachieved with thehandle. Once the setting is complete,
tighten thehandlefirmlyoncemore.
3.To tilt theheadtothe right, unlocktheadjustmenthandle
(A) andthenpulltheknob(B)to release thebevelangle
and tilt thehead from o to45° until therequiredbevel is
achieved with thehandle (A). Once the setting is complete,
tighten thehandlefirmlyoncemore.
N.B.:thebevelindicatormustbealigned with the45°markoneither side of the scale whenthehandle(A) is completely
loosenedandthebevel is setfullytothe right or left. Ifadjustment is required,proceedas follows:
1.Loosenthehandle(A)and tilt theheadfullytothe left.
2. Release theblockingnutof the bevelstop(C).
3.TurntheAllenkeyscrew(D)of the bevelstop until thebevelindicator is aligned with 45°onthe scale.

IMPORTANT! In order to reduce theriskofunexpected saw movement:
- Disconnectthe power cord from the power socket.
- Lock down the saw headandlocktheslidemechanismbeforetransportingthemitresaw.
- Carry the mitre saw close toyour body to keep yourback safe from injury.Bendyourkneeswhileliftingthe saw.
- Carry thesaw with thecarryinghandleif there is one,or byitsbase.Donotcarrythe saw bythe power cord or the

- Place thesawinan unfrequented location, where people cannot move about orsit. Wood debris projected from the

- Clampthe saw toafirmandflatsurface so that ft cannottipover.
4. ADJUSTING THE GROOVING DEPTH
Thelower limit positionofthebladecanbeadjustedsoasto
makegroovecuts.
Themaximumgroovingdepthof the sawmustbesetso
that theblade is notincontact with thesawbase,asthe
bladecoulddamagethebase.Toadjustthe depth, proceed
as follows:
1. Lift thesawbladetoitshighestposition.
2.Unfastenthenut(C) Fig.12.
3.Turnthegroove depth screw(B) until therequireddepth is
reached.
4. Tightenthelockingnut(C).
N.B.:Ifthegroovingstop(A) is set too high, theblade will
not cut through theworkpiece fully. Alwaysdoa testcut
everytimeyouchangethegrooving depth.

6. CUTTING A WORKPIECE

Before you start to make cuts with your saw, make surethat fthas been assembled and adjustedcorrectly.Make sure
thatyouhave read andunderstoodallthesafetyinstructionsinthisinstructionmanual.
Makesurethatthemitrehandleislockedbefore starting thecut. Serious injury mayoccurifthisinstructionisnot fol-
lowed.
Tostart cutting with themitresaw:
1. Raise the cutting armtoitshighestposition.
2. Select andlockthesawattherequiredmitreangle.
3. Select andlockthesawattherequiredbevelangle.
4.Makesure that the size of the workpiece is suitedtothecapacity of the saw.
5. Clamp theworkpiecesecurelytothesawusingtheverticalorhorizontalvice.
6.Maintainwideworkpiecesfirmly so that theycannot tilt overorusethelateralextensionwingsorsupportstands.
7.Makesure that yourhandsareclearlyoutofthepathoftheblade.
8. Pull the cutting armonthesliderails,holdingthehandle.
9. Press inthetriggerswitchtostartthesawandletthebladereachitsmaximumspeed.
10. Then lowerthesawbladeslowly through theworkpieceandslidethebladeintheoppositedirectiontocompletethecut.
Donotforcetheblade.It will bemoreefficientandprecisewhenusedatthespeedforwhichit is designed.
11. Release thetrigger switch, letthebladecometoa haltandbringthe cutting armbackupwhenthecut is completed.

7.CORRECT TECHNIQUE FOR CUTTING USING THESLIDEFEATURE
Warning: Sawingbypullingthesaw towards youcanbehazardous,asthesawmayjumpuptowardsyou.Alwayspushthe
sawbackaway from yourbodyandtowardstheguidefencewhensawing with thehelpoftheslide.The following stages
illustrate thecorrectmethodforusingtheslidefeatureofyourslidingcompoundmitresaw:
1. Place theworkpieceonthesaw table, againsttheguidefence.Holdthehandle of the cutting armbutdonotyetstartthe
saw.
2. Pull the cutting arm,whenit is up. Once the cutting armhasbeenpulledtowardsyou, press thetriggerswitchtostartthe
saw.
3. Press thelockinglatchand press the cutting arm.
4. Push the cutting armbacktowardstheguidefencetomakethecut.
5. Release thetriggerand leave the cutting armdownuntilthebladecomestoa completehalt.

6. Once thebladehas stopped, raise the cutting armtotheupposition.
8.USING THE SAWFORCROSSCUTS
While cutting material that issufficientlynarrowtoallowthesawbladetomakea cutusinga downward movement(simi-
larto that ofa conventionalmitresaw)insteadofslidingthesaw through the workpiece, theslidingmovementof the saw
islockedintherearpositionby tightening thelockingknobofthesliderails. Push the cutting armdowntomakethecut.
Whenthecutiscomplete,releasethetriggerswitchand wait forthebladetocometoa completehaltbefore lifting upthe
sawhead.
9.CUTTINGCURVEDMATERIALS
Inspectyourworkpiecebefore starting thecut.
If the pieceiscurved,setitagainsttheguidefence with the
curvedsideasshowninthefigure opposite.
^ IMPORTANT! If you do not cut your curved work-
piece as shown, it could pinch the blade. The workpiece
could move suddenly, leading to serious injury. CORRECT INCORRECT
10. MITRE CUTS
1. Raise the cutting armtoitshighestposition.

3.Standinthelineof the angletomakethecut.
BeTo°re attempting to make a mitre cut or a bevel cut, extend the guide fence on either side. The blade may come in
contact with the guide fence if the extensions are not fully out.

Oneoftheuniquecharacteristicsofthesawisthe ease with
which youcancutcornices.
Cornices canbecutveryexactly with yoursaw.Thetwo
surfacesof the cornicemustfit againstthewallorceiling
andviceversa.
Belowisanexampleofhowtocuttheinsideandoutside
cornersofcorhices with 52/38°wallangles (Fig.21).
N.B.: While cutting cornices with a 45°wallangle,the
method belowisthe same forinsideandoutsidecorners,
only thebevelcutpositionisalways30°andthemitrecutis
351/4° tothe left or right.
1.Setthemitreangleto 31.62* tothe right. A positivestopis
provided forthefast setting of that mitreangle.Setthesaw
bladeata bevelangleof33.9°.
2. Place thecorniceonthesawtablewiththeceiling side of
the corniceagainsttheguidefenceandmakethecut!Note
that youneedtousea vicetoholdtheworkpiecefirmly
againstthe table. Thepieceofcorniceusedforthe out-
sidecornerisalwaystothe right of the blade.Thepieceof
corniceusedfortheinsidecornerisalwaystothe left ofthe
blade.
3.Tomakethecorrespondinghalvesofinsideandoutside
corners,simplysetthesawtothe31.62°left-handmitrepo-
sition. A positivestopisprovidedforthefast setting of that
mitre angle.Thesawbladehasalreadybeensettothebevel
angleof33.9°forthepreviouscut.
4. Place thecorniceonthesawtable with thewallsideof
the corniceagainsttheguidefenceandmakethecut.Note
again that youneedtousea vicetoholdtheworkpiece
firmly againstthe table. Thepieceofcorniceusedforthe
outside cornerisalwaystothe right of the blade.Thepiece
of corniceusedfortheinsidecornerisalwaystothe left of
the blade.

2. Lift the lower bladeguard(A) Fig.23 with onehandand with the other hand,unscrewthe two screws(B) holding theblade

the flange.
8. Puta drop of oil ontheinnerand outer flange of the spindle.
9. Place thenewsawbladeonthespindle,makingsure that theinnerflangeof the spindlehasbeeninstalled.

PSPToolingisproudofthequalitypowertoolsit sells. Thecomponentsofourtoolsareinspectedatvarious stages of pro-
duction and each finished tool issubjectedtoa finalcheckbeforebeingpackagedforshipment. Because ofourconfidence
inourengineeringquality,PSPTooling agrees torepairorreplaceanypartorpartsofPeugeotpowertoolsand accessories
whichexaminationprovestobedefectiveinworkmanshipormaterial.ThewarrantyperiodforPeugeotbrandis two years.
AnyallegeddefectivepartorpartsmustbereturnedprepaidtoPSPToolingoroneofthe service centres.Theguaranteedoes
not includerepairlabourorpartsreplacementrequired because of misuse, abuse,ornormalwearandtear. Repairs madeby
other thanour factory, service centreorauthorized service stationrelievePSPToolingof further liabilityunderthisguaran-
