Introduction
The Cellesse Vitesse is the latest product in the Philips Cellesse range.
Clinical tests show that the deep, pleasant massage by its improved
massage system can help you reduce or prevent unattractive cellulite
more effectively than ever before. More importantly, with this new
product the treatment time for each leg has been reduced by 50%.
This booklet explains what causes cellulite and describes how the
Cellesse Vitesse can help you solve this typically feminine problem.
Important: Before you start using the appliance, please take the time to
read this booklet thoroughly (especially the section headed 'Read
carefully before using CellesseVitesse').
Cellulite - a typically feminine problem.
Cellulite is the name given to bumpy, pitted skin that arises when lumpy
fat deposits situated just under the skin become visible. Because of its
appearance, it's often called "orange peel skin".
Cellulite only affects certain parts of the body, particularly the hips,
thighs and buttocks.
Cellulite is the result of two things: the mattress-like structure of
women's skin and the tendency to retain fluid in the body.
C◗The natural mattress-like structure of women's skin
Men and women have different skin structures.Women's skin naturally
has a mattress-like structure. Fat is deposited in 'pockets' that stand at
right angles to the surface, giving a structure that resembles a mattress
with springs.This mattress-like structure becomes clearly visible when
the skin is squeezed. In men's skin, by contrast, fat is deposited in
'pockets' that tend to run horizontally under the skin.As a result of
their skin structure, all women run the risk of developing cellulite.
C◗Fluid retention
In most cases, the mattress-like structure becomes visible as a result of
excess fluid in the fat layer.Women tend to retain more fluid than men,
especially in their legs. Excess fluid may accumulate around the fat cells
and cause the cellulite layer to swell. If this fluid retention is allowed to
continue for months or even years, the fat deposits may thicken and
harden. Eventually they'll become hard lumps which can be seen on the
surface of the skin even when it's not squeezed.
When it reaches an advanced stage, cellulite may be painful when the
skin is squeezed or touched.At that point, cellulite is more difficult to
reverse. At earlier stages, however, its effects can be considerably
reduced.

Once developed, cellulite won't disappear or diminish on its own. On
the contrary, it's likely to increase.The only solution is to make the fight
against cellulite part of your regular personal care routine and to begin
treatment right away, before the problem gets worse.

completely, however, and will return if you stop doing something about

Cellesse Vitesse massages the cellulite layer in your skin in an intensive,
pleasant way.This massage mobilises the excess fluid, which is then
removed naturally by the body through the normal circulation and
lymphatic drainage systems.The result is a reduction in the bumpiness
of the cellulite layer and therefore a smoother skin.
The CellesseVitesse in action
The Cellesse Vitesse has been specially developed for those parts of
the body that are prone to cellulite (thighs, hips and buttocks).The
appliance works through a massage system that's been shown in tests
to be highly effective -Vacumotion`.
C◗The 3-in-1Vacumotion`
The 3-in-1 Vacumotion`system works by providing a continuous lifting
and rolling movement, which massages the cellulite layer in an intensive
and pleasant way.The 3-in-1 Vacumotion`system consists of four
rollers with a suction opening in between. Because the elements are
electronically coordinated, the 3-in-1 action is integrated into a smooth,
continuous massage.
C◗1. Roll-up
The front roller, made of soft-touch material and with small raised pads,
gently picks up the skin and guides it into the suction bell.
◗2. Suction
The vacuum lifts the skin even more to form a fold, enabling the
massage to reach the cellulite layer effectively.

◗3. Massage
Four rollers, working together, give the cellulite layer a pleasant and
deep massage, removing the main cause of cellulite - the excess fluid
surrounding the fat cells.The rear rollers then gently guide the skin
away.
C◗Sensor control and indicator light
To make the treatment as effective as possible, the Vacumotion system
will only initiate its suction action if the CellesseVitesse is in proper
contact with the skin. A special sensor 'feels' whether this is the case,
and makes a small indicator light on the front of the appliance go on to
show that proper contact has been realised. In this way you can always
be sure that you're using the CellesseVitesse correctly.
C◗Intensity settings
You can determine the intensity of the massage yourself, using the
continuously variable control. Remember that the massage should
always feel pleasant. If you experience the treatment as painful, reduce
the intensity to a comfortable level.
C◗Vacumotion Stop
Vacumotion Stop is a simple and safe way to interrupt or stop your
treatment at any time. Press the Vacumotion Stop button and the
suction action will stop.You can then lift the appliance off your skin
without any effort.
Following an effective treatment programme for the best
results
We recommend you to use the Cellesse Vitesse three times a week,
spending only 7.5 minutes on each leg each time. Clinical tests have
shown that this type of regular treatment can significantly smoothen
the cellulite layer in the skin within one month. Naturally, results will
vary from individual to individual, depending on how bad the cellulite is
to start with and on the individual's lifestyle.
Don't stop the treatment! If you do, the cellulite layer will start to swell
again after a while, as a result of the natural tendency of women's
bodies to retain fluid. We recommend you to use the appliance three
times a week during the first two or three months.After this time you
can reduce the frequency and follow a maintenance programme of
15 minutes once a week or 5 minutes three times a week.This should
be enough to keep your fluid retention under control.
Proven effective in clinical tests
Although the undesirable consequences of cellulite are visible on the
surface, its causes lie deep inside the skin. Independent experts at the

University of Brussels carried out two types of clinical tests to establish
the effectiveness of the 3-in-1 Vacumotion`system.
C◗One type of test showed that using the 3-in-1Vacumotion`
system only three times a week smoothens the cellulite layer
inside the skin by up to 49% in just one month.
These tests used ultrasound scanning to measure the bumpiness of the
cellulite layer - the cause of cellulite.
The results achieved by women using the CellesseVitesse were
compared with those of a control group of non-users.
Proven to visibly reduce cellulite
Additional tests showed that the Cellesse Vitesse is also highly effective
on the outside of the skin, producing visibly smoother skin.
The extensive tests carried out by the University of Brussels employed
a technique known as fringe projection topography.This uses a
computer to visualise the surface of the skin and measures the
reduction of cellulite.
READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE CELLESSEVITESSE
Do not use the Cellesse Vitesse on hypersensitive skin, problem skin or
areas with skin ailments, irritated skin, varicose veins, scars, spots or
wounds. Please consult your doctor before using the CellesseVitesse if
you're pregnant or have a heart condition, diabetes or circulation
problems.
Only use the appliance to massage the outside of your thighs, hips and
buttocks. Don't use it on any other parts of the body!
Side-effects during and after use
After using the Cellesse Vitesse, your skin may become slightly red and
feel rather dry. Don't worry: these are the normal side-effects of a
massage as the blood circulation improves.They should soon disappear.
If necessary, you can apply a body lotion or cream after using the
Cellesse Vitesse to moisturise the skin. If these effects do not disappear
within 24 hours or if any other undesirable skin reaction occurs, stop
using the appliance and consult your doctor.
If you are prone to bruising or have small red veins clearly visible, you
should only use higher settings with care, especially during the first few
weeks of use.Whenever necessary, you can always press the
Vacumotion Stop button to immediately lift the appliance off your skin.

◗The appliance has been specially designed for treatment of thighs,
hips and buttocks. Do not use the appliance on the upper arms,
the inside of the thighs, the belly or the breasts.

◗Regular cleaning ensures optimum results and a longer life for the
appliance.
◗If the mains cord is damaged, it must be replaced by Philips, a
service centre authorised by Philips or similarly qualified persons
in order to avoid a hazard.
Preparing the CellesseVitesse for use
C1You can adjust the strap to the size of your hand. Press the
adjustment button on the inside of the strap with your thumb
and push the clasp out of the appliance.
C2Pull the lug at the end of the hand-strap and remove the pin of
the strap from its slots.
C3Press the pin into one of the other two slots.
There are three settings: L for large hands, M for normal hands and S
for small hands.

C4Slide the clasp back into the appliance until it snaps home.
You can do the same with the other end of the strap to tighten or
loosen the strap even more.This way you can select the strap size that
fits your hand best.
Using the CellesseVitesse
1Make sure your skin is clean, dry and free of grease or other
skincare products.
Do not apply any creams or lotions to the skin prior to the massage.
2Make sure that clothes or long hair do not get caught between
the rollers when using the CellesseVitesse.Always tie back
long hair before you start using the appliance.
C3Insert the appliance plug into the appliance.
C4Put the transformer plug in the wall socket.
5Slide your hand under the hand strap and hold the Cellesse
Vitesse by clasping your fingers around the back of it (with
your fingertips pointing towards the socket for the appliance
plug).
6Use the CellesseVitesse while you are sitting down, standing
up or lying down.
C7Before starting, set the on/off switch to the preferred setting.
Higher settings will provide more suction power and therefore intensify
the massage.
We advise you to start the first treatment on setting 1. Later, either
during the first treatment or when your skin has become used to the
appliance, you can gradually increase the intensity. If treatment becomes
painful, decrease the intensity.You will achieve the best results when
you experience the massage as pleasant. Since everyone's skin is
different, you will need to discover which intensity setting suits you
best.
C8Gently position the appliance on your skin, a little above the
knee. Make sure the on/off switch is pointing in the direction of
the upper part of your body.

C9Wait until the indicator light on the front of the appliance
comes on.This is the signal that the CellesseVitesse is in
proper contact with the skin and is ready for use.
10 Always move the appliance in one direction only: upwards
towards the heart.
11 Move the appliance slowly and gradually from a little above the
knee to the upper part of your thigh.
The Vacumotion massage system will lift the skin, massaging the cellulite
layer in an intensive, effective and pleasant way.
12 Let your hand follow the movement of the appliance.
A complete stroke from just above the knee to the upper part of the
thigh will take approximately five seconds.
C13 When you have finished a stroke, press theVacumotion Stop
button.The indicator light goes out and theVacumotion action
is temporarily switched off.
The Vacumotion Stop system is particularly convenient when you are
using the appliance at higher intensities.
14 Lift the appliance off your skin.
C15 Place the CellesseVitesse back onto your skin, right next to
where you began the first stroke, and start a new stroke.
16 Repeat this procedure until you have treated your entire thigh,
except the inside, with a series of slow, upward, adjacent
strokes.
◗If you wish, you may apply a cream, lotion, talcum powder or
other type of skincare product to your skin after using the
CellesseVitesse.
◗The recommended frequency for initial treatment is three times a
week, 7.5 minutes on each leg. Read the section headed 'Following
an effective treatment programme'.
Cleaning and maintenance
Never immerse the appliance in water or rinse it!
◗For the best results, clean the appliance after every treatment
with a moist cloth and, if necessary, a drop of washing-up liquid.
Make sure the filter of the suction pump does not get damp.
Do not use alcohol, acetone, petrol, abrasives, scourers, etc., to clean
the appliance.

C◗When cleaning the appliance, pay special attention to the rollers.
Select setting 1 to make the rollers start turning and then clean
them with a moist cloth as indicated.
◗The hand-strap (with clasps) can be washed in a washing machine
at max. 40cC.
Washing may cause the colour of the strap to change slightly.
Storage
C◗After use, remove the transformer plug from the wall socket and
the small appliance plug from the appliance and store the Cellesse
Vitesse together with the cord in the pouch supplied.
Environment
C◗Do not throw the appliance away with the normal household
waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at an official collection
point for recycling. By doing this you will help to preserve the
environment.

Cellulite - ein typisch weibliches Problem.
Von Cellulite ist die Rede, wenn unter der Oberhaut gelegene
Fettablagerungen als Knoten und Grübchen sichtbar werden.Diese
Erscheinung wird häufig auch oft als "Orangenhaut" bezeichnet.
Am häufigsten sind die Hüften, die Oberschenkel und das Gesäß
betroffen.
Die Cellulite beruht auf zwei Faktoren: auf der matratzenartigen
Struktur der weiblicnen Haut und auf der Ansammlung von Flüssigkeit
im Körper.
C◗Die matratzenartige Struktur der weiblichen Haut
Die Struktur der männlichen und der weiblichen Haut ist verschieden.
Die weibliche Haut hat eine matratzenartigen Aufbau. Das Fett wird in
Kammern abgelagert, die - so wie Sprungfedern einer Matratze -
senkrecht zur Hautoberfläche angeordnet sind. Diese Struktur wird
deutlich sichtbar, wenn Sie die Haut zwischen den Fingern
zusammenkneifen. Die Fettkammern der männlichen Haut sind
dagegen parallel zur Hautoberfläche angeordnet. Durch ihre spezifische
Hautstruktur können alle Frauen Cellulite entwickeln.
C◗Flüssigkeitsansammlung
In den meisten Fällen wird die matratzenartige Struktur dadurch
sichtbar, dass in der Fettschicht Flüssigkeit zurückgehalten wird. Frauen
halten mehr Flüssigkeit zurück als Männer, besonders in den Beinen.
Überschüssige Flüssigkeit kann sich rund um die Fettzellen ansammeln

Nebenwirkungen bei und nach der Anwendung
Nach der Anwendung von Cellesse Vitesse kann Ihre Haut sich etwas
röten oder trocken anfühlen. Das ist kein Grund zur Beunruhigung; es
sind normale Folgen einer stärkeren Durchblutung der Haut und
sollten bald abklingen. Sie können nach der Anwendung von Cellesse

Vorbereitung zum Gebrauch
C1Sie können den Gurt der Größe Ihrer Hand anpassen. Drücken
Sie mit dem Daumen auf die Taste an der Innenseite des
Gurtes, und drücken Sie die Halterung des Gurtes heraus.

C2Ziehen Sie die Schnalle am Ende des Gurtes heraus, und
nehmen Sie den Stift des Gurtes aus den Schlitzen der
Halterung heraus.
C3Drücken Sie den Stift in eines der beiden Schlitz-Paare der
Halterung.
Drei Einstellungen sind möglich: L für große Hände, M für normalgroße
Hände und S für kleine Hände.
C4Führen Sie die Schnalle bis zum Anschlag wieder in das Gerät
ein.
Der Gurt lässt sich an der anderen Seite ebenso verstellen, damit er
sich Ihrer Hand individuell anpasst.
Die Anwendung von CellesseVitesse
1Achten Sie darauf, dass Ihre Haut sauber, trocken und frei von
Fett und anderen Kosmetika ist.
Tragen Sie vor der Anwendung keine Cremes, Lotions oder andere
Hautpflegeprodukte auf,
2Geben Sie Acht, dass sich Kleidungsstücke oder langes Haar
nicht in den Rollen des Geräts verfangen können. Stecken oder
binden Sie langes Haar vor der Anwendung von Cellesse
Vitesse stets zurück.
C3Stecken Sie den Gerätestecker in das Gerät.
C4Stecken Sie das Steckernetzgerät in die Steckdose.
5Ergreifen Sie mit den Fingern die Oberseite des Geräts, indem
Sie Ihre Hand unter den Gurt gleiten lassen. Die Fingerspitzen
müssen dabei zum Gerätestecker zeigen.
6Verwenden Sie CellesseVitesse stehend, liegend oder sitzend.

C7Stellen Sie den Ein-/Ausschalter vor Beginn der Anwendung auf
die gewünschte Position.
Eine höhere Position sorgt für höhere Saugkraft und damit für eine
intensivere Massage.
Wir raten Ihnen für die erste Anwendung zu Position 1. Später,
entweder während der ersten Anwendung oder wenn sich Ihre Haut
an das Gerät gewöhnt hat, können Sie die Intensität steigern. Setzen Sie
die Intensität herab, wenn die Behandlung schmwerzhaft wird. Sie
werden die besten Resultate erzielen, wenn Sie die Massage als
angenehm empfinden. Da jede Haut unterschiedlich ist, werden Sie
herausfinden müssen, welche Intensität Ihnen am besten entspricht.
C8Setzen Sie das Gerät etwas oberhalb des Knies sanft auf Ihre
Haut.Achten Sie darauf, dass der Ein-/Ausschalter auf Ihren
Oberkörper gerichtet ist.
C9Warten Sie, bis die Kontroll-Lampe vorn am Gerät ausleuchtet;
sie zeigt an, dass Cellesse Vitesse sich in gutem Kontakt zu
Ihrer Haut befindet.
10 Bewegen Sie das Gerät immer nur in der einen Richtung:
aufwärts, zum Herzen hin.
11 Bewegen Sie das Gerät von oberhalb des Knies langsam zur
oberen Partie des Schenkels fortschreitend.
Das Vacumotion System hebt dann Ihre Haut an, massiert die Cellulite-
Schicht auf intensive, wirksame und angenehme Weise.
12 Folgen Sie mit Ihrer Hand der Bewegung des Geräts.
Ein einzelner Zug mit dem Gerät, oberhalb des Knies begonnen und bis
zur oberen Partie des Oberschenkels fortgeführt, dauert ca. 5 Sekunden.
C13 Drücken Sie denVacumotion Stop, wenn ein Zug zu Ende
geführt ist. Die Kontroll-Lampe erlischt dann, und die
Vacumotion wird unterbrochen.
Der Vacumotion Stop ist besonders praktisch, wenn Sie das Gerät bei
höherer Intensität anwenden.
14 Heben Sie das Gerät von der Haut ab.
C15 Setzen Sie CellesseVitesse genau neben der Stelle, wo Sie mit
dem vorhergehenden Strich begonnen haben, wieder auf die
Haut.
16 Wiederholen Sie denVorgang mit langsamen, aufwärts
gerichteten und nahe beieinander gelegenen Strichen, bis Sie
den ganzen Schenkel - außer der Innenseite - behandelt haben.

◗Wenn Sie es wünschen, können Sie eine Creme, eine Lotion,
Talkumpuder oder ein anderes Hautpflegemittel nach Anwendung
von CellesseVitesse auf die behandelte Haut auftragen.
◗Für den Beginn raten wir Ihnen zu drei Anwendungen in der
Woche, jeweils 7 1/2 Minuten in jedem Bein.Vgl. Sie den Abschnitt
"Vor der ersten Anwendung gründlich durchlesen".
Reinigung und Wartung
Tauchen Sie das Gerät niemals in Wasser; spülen Sie es auch nie unter
fließendem Wasser ab.
◗Das beste Resultat erhalten Sie, wenn Sie das Gerät nach jeder
Anwendung mit einem feuchten Tuch abwischen, auf das Sie bei
Bedarf ein wenig Spülmittel aufgetragen haben.Achten Sie darauf,
dass die Ansaugpumpe nicht nass wird.
Verwenden Sie zum Reinigen keine Scheuermittel, Scheuerschwämme
und keine Lösungsmittel wie Alkohol, Azeton, Benzin usw.
C◗Gehen Sie bei der Reinigung der Rollen besonders vorsichtig vor.
Schalten Sie auf Position 1, damit sich die Rollen langsam drehen,
und reinigen Sie sie, wie im Bild gezeigt, mit einem feuchten Tuch.
◗Der Gurt kann, zusammen mit den Schnallen, in der
Waschmaschine bei max. 40cC gereinigt werden.
Durch die Wäsche kann sich der Gurt etwas verfärben.
Aufbewahrung
C◗Ziehen Sie nach der Behandlung das Steckernetzgerät aus der
Steckdose und den Gerätestecker vom Gerät, und bringen Sie
CellesseVitesse in der mitgelieferten Tasche unter.
Umweltschutz
C◗Geben Sie das Gerät am Ende der Lebensdauer nicht in den
normalen Hausmüll. Bringen Sie es zum Recycling zu einer
offiziellen Sammelstelle.Auf diese Weise helfen Sie die Umwelt zu
schonen.

inesthétiques de la cellulite.

La cellulite - un problème féminin
La cellulite est le nom donné à la peau ondulée, de surface inégale, qui
apparaît lorsque des dépôts graisseux à l'aspect grumeleux situés juste
en dessous de la peau deviennent visibles. On la compare souvent à
"une peau d'orange".
La cellulite n'affecte que certaines parties du corps, en particulier les
hanches, les cuisses et les fesses.
Il y a deux causes principales dans la formation de la cellulite: la
structure en forme de "matelas" de la peau chez la femme et la
tendance à une rétention des fluides dans le corps.
C◗La structure naturelle de la peau en forme de "matelas" chez la
femme.
Les hommes et les femmes ont des structures de peau différentes. La
peau de la femme a naturellement une structure en forme de
"matelas". La graisse se dépose en "poches", verticalement sous la peau,
ce qui lui donne une structure ressemblant à un matelas à ressorts.
Cette structure en forme de "matelas" apparaît très visiblement lorsque
l'on pince la peau. Chez l'homme, au contraire, la graisse se dépose en
"poches" mais horizontalement. Du fait de la structure de leur peau,
toutes les femmes courent le risque de développer de la cellulite.
C◗Rétention de fluides
Dans la plupart des cas, la structure en forme de "matelas" devient
visible à cause de l'excès de fluides dans la couche de graisse. Les
femmes ont tendance à davantage retenir les fluides que les hommes,
particulièrement dans les jambes. L'excès de fluides peut s'accumuler
autour des cellules graisseuses et rendre la couche de cellulite plus
volumineuse. Si cette rétention de fluides se poursuit pendant des mois
ou même des années, les dépôts graisseux peuvent épaissir ou même

durcir. Finalement ils se transforment en amas durs que l'on peut voir à
la surface de la peau même sans la pincer.
Lorsque l'on se trouve à un stade avancé, la cellulite peut devenir
douloureuse au toucher ou lorsque l'on pince la peau. A ce stade il est
plus difficile de lutter contre la cellulite. Par contre, à des stades
antérieurs, il est possible de réduire considérablement ses effets.
La cellulite - peut on agir efficacement contre elle?
Une fois en place, la cellulite ne disparaîtra pas ou ne se réduira pas
d'elle-même. Au contraire, elle aura tendance à se développer. La seule
solution est de faire de votre combat contre la cellulite une part de
votre routine quotidienne et d'agir immédiatement contre elle avant
qu'elle ne se développe davantage.
La bonne nouvelle est que la cellulite peut être lissée. Elle ne sera,
cependant, jamais complètement éliminée, et reviendra si vous arrêtez
le soin.
