General Safety Instrucons
Intended Use
The electronics are a laboratory device as
dened by DIN EN 61010-1. They are intended
for indoor use and use in an environment which
is free of dirt, oil, and lubricants.
According to their design, the electronics are
intended for operang posioners from PI.
The electronics may only be used in compliance
with the technical specicaons and instruc-
ons in this user manual. The user is responsi-
ble for process validaon.
The electronics may not be used for purposes
other than those stated in the user manual. The
electronics may only be installed, operated,
maintained, and cleaned by authorized and
appropriately qualied personnel.
Installing
Unsuitable cables can cause damage to the
electronics and can aect the performance of
the posioner.
XUse genuine PI parts only for connecng
the posioner to the electronics.
XIf you need longer cables, use extension
cables from PI.
Startup
The collision of a moving part at the end of the
travel range, or with an obstacle, as well as high
acceleraons, can cause damage to or consi-
derable wear on the stage.
XDo not deacvate the limit switch evalua-
on by the electronics.
XStop the axis in me.
XIf you use a system for closed-loop opera-
on: Avoid moon in open-loop operaon.
XSet the velocity and acceleraon accor-
dingly.
XFor drives without self-locking, make sure
that unexpected moon is not possible.
Unsuitable sengs can cause the posioner to
oscillate. Oscillaon can damage the posioner
and/or the load xed to it.
XIf the stage is oscillang (unusual operang
noise), switch o servo mode or the elec-
tronics immediately.
XChange the parameter sengs of the elec-
tronics (see manual).
XIf there is any oscillaon during the refe-
rence move, follow the instrucons under
„Troubleshoong“ in the manual.
Overheang can result in damage to the stage.
XAcvate I2t monitoring if supported by the
electronics.
