INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR HOG BAR FOR 99-03 FORD F 150
4X4 W/ TOW HOOKS & 99-02 EXPEDITION PART #78102
Step 3: Position one of the mounting brackets against the frame where the tow
hook once was, orient the bracket as shown in the picture below with
bracket pointing toward wheel. (Driver’s Side Shown in picture to the
right)
Step 4: Using the original bolts from the tow hooks, mount the bracket to the
frame of the truck, leave loose for adjustment later.
NOTE: If you gently remove the rear bolt the threaded hole in the
plate will remain lined up for easier installation.
Step 5: Repeat steps 1 through 4 for other mounting bracket.
Step 6: Place the supplied bolt and washer through the remaining hole as shown in
the picture to the left.
Step 7: Align the bolt and the hole in the end of the Hog Bar and start the threads, DO
NOT tighten.
Step 8: Align the other side of the Hog Bar and start the threads.
Step 9: Tighten all bolts; the two bolts that thread into the Hog Bar require a 3/4”
Wrench.
NOTE: It will help to tighten the bolts on the Hog Bar if the bar is sitting flush against the brackets.
Step 10: For states that require a front plate on the vehicle, there are two holes in the skid plate for mounting a license plate
(hardware to mount license plate is not supplied).
Note: PUTCO recommends applying a high quality automotive wax to maintain the original appearance on your new
Hog Bar.
