INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
INVACARE TDX SP2 NARROW
READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS PRIOR TO INSTALLATION
• This is a comprehensive step-by-step instrucon guide on how to install the QLK-150 Invacare TDX SP2 Narrow Wheelchair Bracket.
• Make sure to read, understand and follow all these instrucons.
• To address any quesons contact the nearest Q’Straint® oce.
• All deviaons and alteraons from these instrucons MUST be reported to both your supervisor and Q’Straint®.
• For installaon of the QLK Docking system, please refer to the separate Installaon Instrucons and the Use and Care Manual.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS AND WARNINGS
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
• All equipment and components MUST be installed and serviced
by an experienced and trained technician.
• The QLK-150 Wheelchair Docking System complies with all
applicable requirements of ADA, FMVSS, CMVSS, SAE J2249,
CSA Z604, AS2942, ISO 10542-1 and ANSI/RESNA WC-4
SECTION 18.
• This System is a complete integrated system, do not alter or
modify it in any way and do not interchange or substute any
components. Any deviaon from these recommendaons is the
responsibility of the installer.
• The QLK-150 Docking System, bracket and its components
MUST be regularly inspected, cleaned and maintained.
• Do NOT aempt to repair, adjust, or modify any component(s) of
the QLK-150 system or bracket without consulng a Q’Straint®
representave.
• The QLK-150 Wheelchair Docking System should not be
operated by anyone who does not have full comprehension of
how the System works or if the System is not working properly.
• The QLK-150 Wheelchair Docking System, bracket and all
system components including oor and wall anchorages MUST
be replaced aer a vehicle collision
• The QLK-150 Wheelchair Docking System MUST be installed
with a compliant occupant restraint system (shoulder and lap
belt).
• Broken and worn components MUST be replaced.
• All damages and defects MUST be reported to both your
supervisor and Q’Straint®.
• Only use Q’Straint® components with this system, including
hardware and wheelchair interface bracket unless otherwise
stated.
• Q’Straint wheelchair brackets and QLK docking staon have
been designed and tested as a system, for use with specic
wheelchairs.
• Q’Straint supplies all the components/hardware required to
install the system so the conguraon is the same as that tested
and set out in the individual installaon instrucons.
• Occasionally, wheelchairs may have addional components
installed which are not detailed in our installaon instrucons
and which may need to be temporarily removed in order to
gain access to xing holes or support frames to enable the
aachment of the wheelchair bracket.
• It is the responsibility of the installer to ensure that all such
wheelchair component(s) are put back in their original locaon
using the original xings or xing of the same size and grade.
• Each wheelchair should be test driven aer tment of the
bracket, to ensure it is funconing correctly.

Step 1 – Remove Leg Rests
Remove the side-mounted leg rests if tted.
A centrally-tted, manually adjustable leg rest
should be put in its top position by turning the
spindle as shown in Fig.1.
Step 2 - Remove Cover
Remove the thumb screws securing the front cover
to the wheelchair, shown in Fig 2. Lift up the cover
to remove. Retain the cover and screws for later.
Step 3 – Remove Actuator
Remove the retainer with a slotted screwdriver and
remove the bolt as shown in Fig.3 keep to one side
for later.
Risk of crushing.
The seat can fall down a few centimetres when
removing the actuator without securing the seat.
Hold the seat in position while removing the
actuator and then lower it carefully
Step 4 – Release Battery Tray
Undo the front bolts as shown in Fig.4 to release the
battery tray.
Keep all the xings to one side.

Step 5 – Remove Battery Tray
Slide out the battery tray that holds the two
batteries as shown in Fig.5. These are both strapped
in place.
Step 6 – Disconnect Batteries
Remove the terminal cover from the battery
terminals as shown in Fig.6.
Undo the bolt on the negative terminal - black cable
-with the 11 mm jaw spanner.
After this, undo the bolt on the positive terminal -
red cable.
Put batteries and ttings to one side for later use.
Step 7 – Align Bracket
Fig.7a shows the orientation of item 1 Q03C0040
Welded Bracket Assembly.
Fig.7b shows the orientation of the underside of the
bracket.

with the holes on the bottom of the wheelchair as
shown in Fig.7c.
Align the side of the bracket with the two holes at
the side of the chair, shown in Fig.7d on each side of
the chair.
Align the back of the bracket with the two holes at
the back of the wheelchair as shown in Fig.7e.
Step 8 – Securing Back of Bracket
For the two holes at the rear of the chair, align item
3 QC04259 Adapter Bush,and pass through item
5 QE9-8105 M8 x 25mm Button Head as shown in
Fig.8.
Thread the bolt into the welded nut in the
wheelchair bracket. Ensure thread engagement us-
ing 5mm Allen Key but don’t tighten at this stage.
Repeat for the second bolt next to it.
Step 9 – Attach Sides of Bracket
For the two holes at each side of the wheelchair,
pass item 5 QE9-8105 M8 x 25mm Button Head
through the components and wheelchair shown in
Fig.9 Secure loosely with 5mm Allen Key.
Step 10 – Secure all Fixings
Now all items are in place, tighten all xings, using
5mm Allen Key.

Step 11 – Install Docking Bolt
Install item 6 QE9-8111 Docking Bolt at the base of
the wheelchair as shown in Fig.11a.
Use the adjustable spanner to tighten the bolt. The
assembled docking bolt is shown in Fig.11b.

Step 12 – Installation of QLK Docking System
Install QLK docking system Q04S153 QLK 150 Kit and QC03003 QLK 150 2”Flange as per QLK 150 i
nstructions: Q5-1150-QLK150 and Q5-1161-QLK150.
These instructions are provided with the QLK 150 docking station Kit Q04S153.
Step 13 – Alignment and Adjusting
Align the wheelchair with the QLK base. Make any adjustments to the docking bolt height as required.
Refer to Step 11 for the adjustment procedure for the docking bolt.
Step 14 – Reconnect Batteries
Replace the bolt on the positive terminal - red cable.
Replace the bolt on the negative terminal - black cable -with the 11 mm jaw spanner.
Replace the terminal cover from the battery terminals. See Fig. 6.

Replace the terminal cover from the battery terminals. See Fig. 6.
Step 15 – Replace Battery Tray
Place the batteries back into the tray and secure using the two straps.
Replace the battery tray underneath the wheelchair as shown in Fig.5
Replace the two xings into the bottom of the battery tray to hold it in place, Fig. 4.
Step 16 – Replace Actuator
Replace the retainer with a slotted screwdriver and insert the bolt as shown in Fig.3.
Step 17 – Replace Cover
Replace the thumb screws securing the front cover to the wheelchair, shown in Fig 2.
Step 18 -Replace the Leg Rests
Adjust the centrally tted leg rest back to the optimum position for the user.
Attach the side mounted leg rest, if these were removed, as shown in Fig.1.
