1. Important Safety Instructions
For your own safety
Before putting the cleaner
into operation, be sure to
read these operating
instructions thoroughly
and keep them close at
hand for future reference.
The cleaner may only be
used by persons trained in
its use and expressly
authorised to use it.
CAUTION!
This cleaner is not
suitable for picking up
health-endangering dusts.
General
Operation of this cleaner
is subject to the applicable
national regulations.
In addition to these opera-
ting instructions and the
binding regulations on
accident prevention appli-
cable in the country of use,
the generally acknow-
ledged technical rules for
safe and correct working
must also be observed.
Any method of work
endangering health or
safety is forbidden!
Use extra care when
cleaning on stairs.
Appliance plug socket
Before connecting any
appliance to the appliance
plug socket, the cleaner
must always be switched off.
If appliances are connec-
ted to the appliance plug
socket, ensure that these
appliances are also
switched off when being
connected to the
appliance plug socket.
CAUTION!
The operating instructions
and the safety precautions
contained therein must be
observed when using
appliances connected to
the appliance plug socket
of the cleaner.
Using for the first time
Before using the cleaner
for the first time, check
that it is in a good and
safe condition.
Plugs and connectors of
mains leads must be at
least splash water-proof.
Check the mains connec-
tion and mains plug.
Inspect the mains lead at
regular intervals for da-
mage or signs of ageing.
Use the cleaner only when
the mains lead is in a
good and safe condition.
(Damaged mains leads
present a danger of
electric shocks!)
Use the cleaner only with
an undamaged filter
element.
Fire and explosion
hazard
The following materials
must not be picked up
with the cleaner:
• Hot materials (glowing
cigarettes, hot ashes,
etc.)
• Inflammable, explosive
or aggressive fluids (e.g.
petrol, solvents, acids,
alkalines, etc.)
• Inflammable, explosive
dusts (e.g. magnesium
or aluminium dust, etc.).

During operation
Take care not to damage
the mains lead (e.g. by
driving over, pinching or
dragging). Pull out the
mains plug only directly at
the plug, i.e. not by pulling
at the mains lead.
Before picking up liquids,
the filter bag must be
removed and the function
of the float switch
checked.
If foaming is observed,
stop work immediately
and empty the tank.
Connect to a properly
grounded outlet only.
Maintenance and repair
CAUTION!
Before cleaning and ser-
vicing the cleaner, always
remove the mains plug.
Carry out only mainte-
nance operations des-
cribed in these operating
instructions.
Use only original spare
parts.
Do not make any technical
modifications to the
cleaner.
CAUTION!
Your safety could be
endangered as a result!
For all other maintenance
and repair work, please
contact Denerica or an
authorised specialist
workshop!
Electrical equipment
Check the rated voltage of
the cleaner before connec-
ting it to the mains power
supply. Ensure that the
voltage specified on the
rating plate corresponds to
the local mains voltage.
When using an extension
lead or replacing the mains
lead, the lead type speci-
fied by the manufacturer
must always be used.
We recommend that the
power supply to the clea-
ner be connected to a
grounded, GFCI-protected
socket.
When using an extension
lead, observe the minimum
cross-sections of the leads:

Always arrange the
current-carrying parts
(plug sockets, plugs and
connectors) and lay
extension leads so that
the protection class of the
cleaner is maintained.
CAUTION!
Never spray the top
section of the cleaner with

circuits.
The latest edition of the
IEC Regulations and the
NEC must be observed.

2.2 Intended Use The Vortex compact is an
industrial vacuum cleaner
for dust class “L” and thus
when employed in accor-
dance with its intended
use, is suitable for picking
up non-flammable, dry
dusts with TLV ratings >
1 mg/m³.

Approvals
Electrotechnically tested
according to test methods/
standards:
IEC 335-1 and
IEC 335-2-2
The test in accordance
with IEC 335-1 and
IEC 335-2-2 has showed
that the safety require-
ments with respect to the
electrical safety are also
satisfied when picking up
a water/air mixture.
Protection class 1

At a filter surface area
load of
< 500 m³ x m-2 x h-1, the
cleaner has a degree of
penetration of < 5% and
on the basis of its other
equipment thus satisfies
the requirements for appli-
cation category “L”.
The filter paper of the ab-
solute filter element has
been tested by the Berufs-
genossenschaftliche Institut
für Arbeitssicherheit [Tech-
nical Institute for Occupa-
tional Safety] (BIA) in
accordance with ZH 1/487,
paragraph 2 and has a
mean degree of penetra-
tion reliably < 0.1% mea-
sured at an air flow velo-
city of 0.05 m/s.
The two-layer filter
material of the bag-type
safety filter has been tes-
ted by the BIA in accor-
dance with ZH 1/487
para. 2 and has a mean
degree of penetration of
reliably < 0.1% measured
at an air flow velocity of
0.056 m/s.
Electrical tests must be
performed at least once
a year and after repair
or modification.

3. Assembly / Using for the
First Time
3.1 Assembling
the Cleaner
CAUTION!
On delivery, the accesso-
ries are lying in the tank
and must be removed be-
fore the cleaner is used
for the first time. To
remove the accessories,
the cleaner top section
must be taken off. The
mains plug must not yet
be inserted into a plug
socket.
Remove from the plug
socket, if necessary.

• Open retaining clamps.
• Lift off the cleaner top
section.
• Lay a bag-type filter
into the tank.
• Press the bag-type filter
sleeve as far as possible
onto the inlet fitting.
• Fit the cleaner top sec-
tion and close the re-
taining clamps.
• Connect the suction
hose to the tank.

Connection
Connecting the Clea-
ner to the Power
Supply
The operating voltage
shown on the rating plate
must correspond to the
voltage of the mains
power supply.
• Ensure that the cleaner
is switched off and in-
sert the plug of the
mains lead into a pro-
perly installed and fused
plug socket with ear-
thing contact.
Appliance Plug
Socket
• Connect the spray gun
to the appliance plug
socket on the control
panel.
Maximum power consump-
tion of the appliance to be
connected, see 9. Techni-
cal Data.

4. Operation
Switching ON the Cleaner Two operating modes are
possible:
Switch position “I”:
The cleaner motor runs
continuously.
Switch position “auto”:
The cleaner motor starts
only when the appliance
connected to the appliance
plug socket is switched on.
CAUTION!
Before turning the switch
to position “auto”, ensure
that the appliance connec-
ted to the appliance plug
socket is switched off.

Switching OFF the Cleaner
• Turn the switch to position “0”.
After Finishing Work
Before picking
up any dry, non-
flammable sub-
stances, the
bag-type filter should
always be installed in the
tank. It is then easy to
dispose of the material
picked up. Dry cleaning
without bag-type filter is
also possible. Inflammable
substances must not be
picked up with the cleaner!
After picking up liquids,
the filter element is damp.
Damp filter elements can
clog more quickly when
dry substances are picked
up. For this reason, the
filter element should be
dried or replaced with a
dry element before picking
up dry substances.
Picking Up Liquids Before picking
up non-flam-
mable liquids,
the bag-type
filter must always be
removed from the tank.
Inflammable liquids must
not be picked up with the
cleaner!
After picking up liquids, the
filter element is damp.
Damp filter elements can
clog more quickly when dry
substances are picked up.
For this reason, the filter
element should be dried or
replaced with a dry ele-
ment before picking up dry
substances.
If foaming is observed,
stop work immediately and
empty the tank.
Picking Up Dry
Substances
The motor speed and thus
the suction power can be
varied at the speed
regula-tor. This permits a
precise adaptation to
different sub-stances to be
picked up.

5. Troubleshooting
Problem Cause Remedy
Motor does not start > Plug of mains lead not

6. Cleaning / Maintenance
Removing the Cleaner
Top Section
• Pull the plug of the
mains lead out of the
plug socket.
• Open the retaining
clamps.
• Lift off the cleaner top
section.
Changing the Bag-Type
Filter
• Remove the cleaner
top section.
• Close the bag-type filter
sleeve with the sleeve.
• Pull the bag-type filter
sleeve off the inlet fitting.
• Dispose of the used
bag-type filter in accor-
dance with the local
waste disposal regula-
tions.
• Lay a new bag-type
filter into the tank.
• Press the bag-type filter
sleeve onto the inlet
fitting.
• Fit the cleaner top sec-
tion and close the retai-
ning clamps.
• Order No. for bag-type
filters (5 filters per pack):

Replacing the Filter Element • Remove the cleaner
top section.
• Place the cleaner top
section aside with the
filter element facing
upwards.
• Unscrew the filter re-
taining nut (1) and re-
move together with the
retaining washer (2).
• Pull off the filter
element (3).
• Push on a new filter
element.
• Fit the filter retaining
washer and tighten the
retaining nut.
• Fit the cleaner top sec-
tion and close the retai-
ning clamps.
• Dispose of the used
filter element in accor-
dance with the local
waste disposal regula-
tions.

intended use, Renfert
guarantees all parts of the
Vortex compact - with the
excep-tion of the wear
parts - for a period of 3
years.
CAUTION!
Use only original Renfert
spare parts for all mainte-
nance work.
Installation of parts from
other manufacturers or
inexpert attempts at repair
will invalidate the guaran-
tee and Renfert will accept
no liability for any conse-
quential damage.
Repairs may only be
carried out by qualified
specialist personnel.

1. Consignes de sécurité importantes
Pour votre propre
sécurité
Avant de mettre l’aspira-
teur en marche, lisez ab-
solument ces instructions
de service et conservez-
les à portée de la main.
L’aspirateur ne doit être
employé que par des
personnes qui savent le
manipuler et chargées
expressément de l’utiliser.
ATTENTION !
Cet aspirateur n’est pas
homologué pour l’aspira-
tion de poussières
nocives.
Généralités
Le fonctionnement de
l’aspirateur est régi par les
règlements nationaux en
vigueur.
Outre les instructions de
service et les règlements
de prévention des acci-
dents en vigueur dans le
pays d’utilisation, il faut
respecter également les
règles techniques
admises pour des travaux
con-formes à la sécurité
et aux règles de l’art.
S’abstenir de tout mode
de fonctionnement pré-
sentant un risque pour la
sécurité.
Prise additionnelle
Mettre l’aspirateur hors
tension avant de brancher
un appareil à la prise
additionnelle.
Pour brancher des appa-
reils à la prise addition-
nelle, veiller à ce qu’ils
soient hors tension avant
de les brancher.
ATTENTION !
Observer les instructions
de service des appareils
branchés à la prise
additionnelle et les
consignes de sécurité
qu’elles contiennent.
Avant la mise en service
Avant la mise en service,
vérifier que l’aspirateur
dans l’état réglementaire.
Les fiches et les conne-
xions des câbles d’alimen-
tation secteur doivent être
au moins protégées contre
les projections d’eau.
Contrôler le branchement
au secteur et la fiche
secteur.
Vérifier régulièrement le
câble d’alimentation sec-
teur pour détecter les dé-
tériorations et les signes
de vieillissement.
Ne mettre l’aspirateur en
service qu’avec une par-
faite alimentation secteur.
(Danger d’électrocution en
cas de détérioration !)
N’aspirer qu’avec une
cartouche filtrante intacte.
Risque d’incendie et
d’explosion
Ne pas aspirer les
matières suivantes :
• matières chaudes (ciga-
rettes incandescentes,
cendres chaudes, etc.)
• liquides inflammables,
explosifs, agressifs (par
ex. essence, solvants,
acides, bases, etc.)
• poussières inflammab-
les, explosives (par ex.
poussière de magnésium,
d’aluminium, etc.)

Pendant le
fonctionnement
Veiller à ne pas détériorer
le câble d’alimentation
secteur (par ex. en roulant
dessus, en le tirant, en
l’écrasant). Toujours saisir
ce câble par sa fiche pour
le débrancher (ne pas tirer
ou arracher le câble).
Avant d’aspirer des liqui-
des, retirer le sac à
poussière et contrôler le
fonctionnement du flotteur.
Si de la mousse se forme,
arrêter immédiatement le
travail et vider la cuve.
Ne brancher que sur une
prise avec mise à terre.
Maintenance et
réparation
ATTENTION !
Débrancher par principe la
fiche secteur avant le net-
toyage et la maintenance
de l’aspirateur.
N’effectuer que les
travaux de maintenance
qui sont décrits dans les
instruc-tions de service.
Utiliser exclusivement des
pièces de rechange d’ori-
gine.
Ne pas apporter de
modifi-cations techniques
à l’aspi-rateur.
ATTENTION !
Il pourrait y avoir un danger
pour votre sécurité.
Pour les travaux de main-
tenance et de réparation
plus importants, veuillez
vous adresser à Denerica
ou à un atelier spécialisé
agréé !
Electricité
Vérifiez la tension nomina-
le de l’aspirateur avant de
le brancher au secteur.
Assurez-vous que la ten-
sion indiquée sur la
plaque signalétique
correspond à la tension
secteur locale.
En cas d’utilisation d’un
câble de rallonge ou de
remplacement du câble
de branchement au
secteur, se conformer à
l’exécution indiquée par le
fabricant.
Il est recommandé d’ame-
ner l’alimentation élec-
trique de l’aspirateur par
un disjoncteur de protec-
tion contre le courant de
défaut, avec protection
GFCI.
Lors de l’utilisation d’un
câble de rallonge, veiller à
la section minimum.

qui convient donc, en cas
d’utilisation réglementaire,

3. Montage / Mise en service
3.1 Assemblage
de l’aspira-
teur
ATTENTION !
Les accessoires sont
livrés dans la cuve et
doivent en être extraits
avant la première mise en
service. Enlever pour cela
la partie supérieure de
l’aspirateur.
Ne pas encore brancher la
fiche dans une prise
secteur, la débrancher le
cas échéant.
• Ouvrir les crochets de
fermeture.
• Enlever la partie supé-
rieure de l’aspirateur.
• Introduire le sac à
poussière dans la cuve.
• Pousser le manchon du
sac à poussière sur le
raccord d’admission,
jusqu’à la butée.
• Poser la partie supé-
rieure de l’aspirateur et
fermer les crochets.
• Raccorder le tuyau
flexible d’aspiration à la
cuve

4. Commande
Fonctionnement de
l’aspirateur
Deux modes de service
sont possibles :
Commutateur sur position ‘I’ :
le moteur d’aspiration
marche en service perma-
nent.
Commutateur sur position
‘auto’ :
le moteur d’aspiration
démarre à la mise sous
tension du pulvérisateur
raccordé.
ATTENTION !
Avant de tourner le
commutateur sur la
position ‘auto’, veiller à ce
que l’appareil raccordé
soit hors tension.
