GF STYLUS / EXTENSION
TIGHTENING TOOL
GF styli and GF stylus extensions are assembled
by hand and then tightened using the tightening tool.

Remove stylus
from probe module
Tighten stylus
onto probe module
Release lever
FITTING A STYLUS OR EXTENSION
Screw the stylus or extension by hand into the stylus module
until finger tight.
Hold the probe module and locate the tightening tool on the
steel part of the stylus stem by pressing back the tool release
lever. Tighten the stylus in a clockwise direction until the
pre-set torque limiter breaks (indicated by a click).
DO NOT tighten further, as this could damage the stylus.
To remove the tool, press the release lever back and rotate
the tool in the opposite direction.
TAKE NOTE
ALWAYS remove the stylus module from the probe body before
fitting or removing a stylus or extension.
ALWAYS locate the tightening tool on the steel section of the
GF stylus or extension.
DO NOT attach the tool to the black fibre section of the shaft.

TO DETACH A STYLUS OR EXTENSION:
Remove the stylus module with stylus from the probe.
Locate the tool on the steel part of the stylus stem, in the
opposite orientation to the fitting mode. Hold the probe
module and turn the tool anti-clockwise to loosen the stylus.
Remove the tool by pressing back the release lever,
then carefully unscrew the stylus or extension by hand.
