ELECTRICAL SAFETY
Always unplug this adjustable bed frame from the
ele tri al outlet before any leaning or maintenan e
of the bed frame. To safely dis onne t, make sure all
ontrols are in the off position, then remove the
plug from the outlet.
Keep ord away from heated surfa es. Keep air
openings free of lint, hair and the like - never operate
when air openings are blo ked. Never drop or insert
any obje t into any opening. Use only indoors.
Cease use of this bed frame and onta t a qualified
servi e enter for repair if: (1) it has a damaged ord
or plug, (2) it is not working properly, (3) it has been
dropped or damaged, or (4) it has been dropped
into water.
GROUNDING SAFETY
To redu e the risk of ele tri sho k, ele tri al fire, or faulty
operation of this produ t, your Adjustable Bed features a
polarized plug meant to be used only with a grounded
ele tri al outlet. If this plug does not fit into your outlet,
onta t a qualified ele tri ian to install a properly
grounded outlet. Failure to use a properly grounded
outlet for this produ t will ompromise this important
grounding safety feature. The use of adapters is not
re ommended unless the outlet is he ked by a
qualified ele tri ian to ensure the proper grounding of
the adapter. Please note: Unauthorized modifi ations
to this produ t ould void the ele tri al portion of
your warranty.

maintenan e by you, the user. Any opening or tamper-
ing with the ontrol box, motors or hand ontrols (with
the ex eption of the battery ompartment if equipped)
will result in a void of the warranty. Only those

repla ement on your adjustable bed.

is designed ex lusively for in-home use.
HOSPITAL DISCLAIMER: It is NOT desi ned for hospital use
and is NOT desi ned to meet hospital standards. Do not
use this bed with TENT TYPE oxy en therapy equipment or
use near explosive ases.
IMPORTANT SAFETY FEATURES
Weight failsafe feature: In the ase that an overload of
weight is pla ed on the head or foot me hanism, the
ontrol unit will automati ally stop all fun tions. The
ontrol unit will automati ally resume all fun tions
30 se onds after ex ess weight is removed.
Lo king aster feature: This Adjustable Bed may be
equipped with spe ial lo king asters. For your safety,
these asters will prevent bed movement when all
asters are in the lo ked position. To lo k asters, push
down the safety lat h on the aster. To resume produ t
mobility, lift the safety lat h up.
Please note: If your Adjustable Bed is positioned on a
hard floor surface such as hardwood or tile, it is strongly
recommended that rubber caster cups or carpet squares
are placed under the casters in addition to locking them
in place. Casters will not roll when locked, but may slide
on an uncarpeted surface.

It is possible that the (optional) vibrating feature of this
bed may be interpreted falsely by some pa emakers as
movement and/or exer ise. This is ommon with any
produ t that produ es a vibrating motion, and may or
may not affe t your pa emaker. Please onsult your
physi ian with any on erns.
RADIO FREQUENCY IS 433.92 MHZ.

Any hange to the antenna or the devi e ould result in

PRODUCT RATINGS
Lift Motor Restri tions: The lift motors in this bed are
NOT designed to operate ontinuously for more than
three (3) minutes over a thirty (30) minute time period,
or approximately 10% duty y le. To ensure reliable
fun tionality and full life of this produ t, do not attempt
to ex eed these limits.
NOTE: Attempting to circumvent or exceed this rating will
shorten the life expectancy of the product and may void
the warranty.
Weight Restri tions: The re ommended weight limits on
our adjustable beds are: Twin/TXL/Split QN/Split CA
King: 575 Pounds, Full/FXL: 600 Pounds, Queen: 650
Pounds.
The stru ture of the bed will support the re ommended
weight when distributed evenly a ross the bed. Your Rize
adjustable bases are manufa tured with state of the art
ele troni s, and the most reliable motors (2 per unit),
ontrol boxes and linkage. The manufa ture warranties
these DC motors up to 500 lbs. in Queen Size. This war-
ranty ex eeds the industry norm for DC motors used in
adjustable bases. Although the warranty overs up to 500
lbs. in Queen Size, the Rize base has been tested for
weight load by a ertified independent testing laboratory
showing good performan e with weight loads above
700 lbs. per unit.

in ivi ually support or lift the entire recommen e weight.
For optimal performan e, entering and exiting the
adjustable bed with the bed in the flat or level
position is re ommended.
NOTE: Exceeding the recommended weight restrictions could
damage your adjustable bed and void our warrant .

Installation Guide
STEP 1.
For safety reasons, the following should be performed by 2 people.
Carefully lift the bed frame unit out of the shipping arton with the
top side fa ing downward.
STEP 2. Assembling Be Legs
For this step, you will need: 4 bed legs (Cand M), Knob bolts (N),
and spring washers (O), whi h an be found in the A essories box.
First turn the two (C) bed legs in a lo kwise dire tion into the holes
in the frame as shown above. Next thread ea h Lounger bed leg (M)
into the C- hannel frame. Make sure the leg opening is fa ing inside
the frame. Then, insert a Knob bolt (N) fitted with a spring washer
(O) into the predrilled hole in the C- hannel frame and through the
lounger bed leg. Tighten the Knob bolt in pla e. Repeat with the
remaining Lounger bed leg.
STEP 3.
Remove and extend the power ord from the frame.
STEP 4.
Take plasti wrapping off the base frame.
STEP 5.
Carefully rotate the base frame over so the top side is fa ing upward.
Be areful not to rest the frame on its side. The weight may damage
the legs.
STEP 6.
Plug the power ord into a grounded ele tri al outlet.
STEP 7.
Install batteries in hand unit.
If the hand unit is a wired unit, no batteries are needed.
Try all fun tions on the hand ontrol to
ensure all features are operational.
If the bed does not work, refer to Troubleshootin on p.14.
STEP 8.
Return bed to flat or level position.
STEP 9. Assembling
The Mattress Retainer Bracket
Fasten the mattress retainer bra ket (B) to the front of the bed frame
using the retainer bolts (F) and 1/4 in h Retainer washers (H), as
shown in the diagram below.

DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE BED LEGS.
NOTE:
Bed may be equipped with spe ial lo king
asters. To prevent movement of this produ t, all four
asters should be in the lo ked position. It is re om-
mended that rubber aster ups or arpet squares (not
in luded) are pla ed under asters in addition to lo king
them inpla e. Casters will not roll when lo ked, but may
slide on an un arpeted surfa e.
NOTE:For optimal safety, a surge prote tor should be
used (not supplied with this Adjustable Bed).
NOTE :
Use ONLY the allen wren h to fasten the retainer
bolts. DO NOT use a power s rewdriver as it may over tighten the
bolts. Mattress retainer hardware must NOT be over tightened.
If the adjustable frame is to be set up without a headboard,
simply install a mattress on the frame.Installation is now complete.
If a headboard is to be installed, proceed to step 10 on next pa e.
Important
MAKE SURE POWER CORDS DO NOT OBSTRUCT
ANY ADJUSTABLE BED MECHANISMS.

STEP 10. Assemble the Hea boar Bracket
i. Use the hand ontrol to elevate the head of the bed so
the bed base frame is rea hable.
iv. When headboard bra kets are assembled, make sure there is a spa e of 1.5 (38.1 mm) to 2 in hes (50.8 mm)
between the edge of the bed base and the headboard bra kets.
v. Se urely fasten the headboard bolts (not in luded with your adjustable bed) to the end of the headboard bra ket assembly.
vi. Measure the distan e from the enter of one mounting hole in the headboard to the enter of the other.
vii. Measure the distan e from the enter of one mounting hole in the headboard bra ket assembly to the enter of the other.
viii. If you need to adjust the headboard bra kets, uns rew the bolts holding the outer headboard bra kets and move them
the ne essary distan e. Reinstall the bolts and se urely tighten.
STEP 11.
Pla e your mattress on the adjustable bed frame surfa e. Your adjustable bed and headboard installation is now omplete.

IMPORTANT NOTES:
Failure to follow the installation steps as they appear in this gui e
coul result in amage to your a justable be frame.
Make sure to position the bottom of the hea boar cross member no more than
3 inches (76.2 mm) between the hea boar an the top of the mattress.
ii. Slide the inner headboard bra ket (D) into the C- hannel
frame. (The bra ket opening and the C- hannel opening should
fa e ea h other to reate a box shape.) Insert a retainer bolt (G)
fitted with a 5/16 in h washer (I) into one of the predrilled holes
in the C- hannel frame and through the inner headboard
bra ket. Tighten in pla e with a 5/16 in h washer (I) and 5/16
in h nut (J). Repeat on the other side.
iii. Pla e the open side of the outer headboard bra ket (E) onto
the exposed square tube of the inner headboard bra ket (D) to
reate a tight fit between (D) and (E). Insert a retainer bolt (G)
fitted with a 5/16 in h washer (I) into the outer headboard
bra ket (E) and through the inner headboard bra ket (D). Hand
tighten using a 5/16 in h washer (I) and a 5/16 in h nut (J).
(Leave loose enough for adjusting.) Repeat on
the other side.

• Press & Realease button to raise or lower the head and foot se tions of your adjustable bed. The premium “Wall-Glide” feature
will automati ally syn hronize with all Head & Foot adjustments.
NOTES: *“A ” will automati ally adjust headrest for perfe t head & ne k support. **“D” will allow the lowering of the foot
se tion for a “LOUNGE” position.
Be “Flat” Button (F)
• Press down and hold for 2 se onds to return bed to the flat position.
Hea an Foot Massage A justments (I,J,K,L)
• Press & Release button to a tivate the massage feature on the head and foot of the bed (starting at intensity 4 of 8). Gradually
in rease or de rease intensity of massage vibration by pressing the appropriate button. The lowest setting on ea h massage unit
will turn off the respe tive vibration. The massage feature is programmed with an Auto Shut-Off Timer that will automati ally
turn off the massage after 15 minutes of ontinuous use.

NOTE:This bed may show minor intermittent performance because of typical RF interference.
This is normal in the operation of the bed, not a defect.
Wave Massage A justments (N)
• A tivates both units to wave mode massage. NOTE: You must stop the massage in order to a tivate another
massage setting su h as Full Body and Wave Massage.
Full Bo y Massage (M)
• Press to a tivate both the head and foot massage at the same time.
Zero Gravity (G)
• This fun tion allows your legs to be lifted to a position slightly higher than the hest. This allows blood to flow
ba k to the heart, redu ing stress and fatigue.
Incline (E)
• Press to raise the head se tion to an ideal position for wat hing TV, reading or laptop use.
Lounge (H)
• Press & Release to lower your legs. Raise your head and relax in a lounge position.
Un er Be Light (O)
• Press the button to turn on or off the under bed light. (Button on ba k of Hand Remote)
Remote Features
• The Wireless Adjustable Bed uses a RF (Radio Frequen y) hand ontrol system.
• When pressed, the buttons are ba klit, to aid in the visibility of the remote in low light environments..
• It is not ne essary to fa e the bed to operate the remote ontrol. Remote signal is best transmitted within
9 feet (3 meters) of the bed.
Safety
• In the ase that an overload of weight is pla ed on the head or foot me hanism, the ontrol unit will automati ally stop all
fun tions. The ontrol unit will automati ally resume all fun tions 30 se onds after ex ess weight is removed.
• Massage motors will automati ally shut off after running ontinuously for 15 minutes. All massage fun tions will be
operational again after 5 minutes. Automati Shut Off will o ur after 15 minutes of ontinuous use.
• The input transformer voltage is AC120V 60HZ, the output voltage is DC24V 3A. In the ase of a short- ir uit, a fuse on the
transformer will blow to prote t the ele tri al equipment (Fuse: 1A~1.5A.). Should this o ur, you MUST seek professional

1. Insert batteries into the
Hand remote ontrol (2xAA batteries).
2. Make sure your adjustable bed is plugged into
a working grounded outlet or surge prote tor.
3. Hold down the learn button for 3 se onds.
4. The LED signature light will illuminate.
This means the RF frequen y ode setting
fun tion has been a tivated.
6. When the re eiver light flashes, the RF
frequen y ode learning pro ess is omplete.
Note: Programming by the user is only needed on repla ement remotes.

1. Follow steps 1 through 6 above for 1 hand ontrol and 1 bed.
2. Repeat the steps for the other bed using the same hand ontrol.

NOTE:
THE TWO (2) 9 VOLT BATTERIES ARE ONLY RATED FOR SINGLE USE. AFTER
THE EMERGENCY LOWERING, REPLACE WITH NEW ALKALINE BATTERIES.
1. Lo ate and remove the 9 volt battery over.
3. Repla e the battery over. 4. Press either the “Flat” button (F) or the
individual lowering buttons (B, D) to lower
your bed to the level position.
2. Install two (2) Alkaline 9 volt batteries.

Your CONTEMPORARY adjustable base is equipped
with an emergen y lowering feature. Follow the steps below in the
event that your base is in the raised position during a power outage.

In the event the RIZE®adjustable bed fails to operate, investigate the
symptoms and possible solutions provided in the hart below:
SYMPTOM SOLUTION
Hand Remote LED illuminates and appears
Normal, but will not operate bed.

1) Is the power ord plugged into a working &
grounded ele tri al outlet?
• NOTE: A grounded, ele tri al surge prote tion devi e
is re ommended (not supplied)
2) Test outlet by plugging in an applian e you know
works properly.
3) Che k low amp fuse on the Control Box under bed.
Repla e Fuse if blown.
1) Your Bed may be obstru ted preventing smooth
operation. Remove obstru tions from around &
under the bed.
2) Che k that Head se tion has learan e from
headboard or wall.
3) Headboard may be too lose the edge of the
mattress. Verify a 1.5” (38.1mm) to 2” (50.8mm)
distan e between headboard bra kets and mattress.
Adjust if required.
1) Re-Program the hand ontrol (as indi ated in the
Manual provided with this produ t, for programming
pro edures).
2) Unplug the power ord. After 45 se onds, plug in to
ele tri al outlet. This should reset the ele troni
omponents.
3) The Home Ele tri al ir uit breaker may have been
tripped. Reset ir uit breaker if needed.
4) Che k surge prote tion devi e or ele tri al outlet to
insure working order. Test outlet by plugging in a
known working applian e.
5) Che k low amp fuse on Control Box under bed.
Repla e Fuse if blown.
Hand Remote Fun tion Keys will not illuminate.
Head or foot se tion Fun tion Key will elevate bed,
but will not return to the horizontal (Flat) position.
1) Repla e batteries in the hand remote.
2) Che k that batteries are installed properly.

In the event the RIZE®adjustable bed fails to operate, investigate the
symptoms and possible solutions provided in the hart below:

wall, nightstand, or other obje t that may ause
vibration or noise.
4) If Adjustable Bed is installed on top of a bed
frame, he k that the massage motors are not ausing
bed frame (or bed frame omponents) to vibrate or
rattle.
5) Che k that the headboard atta hment hardware
is tightened firmly (if used).

20-Year Premium Limite Warranty for A justable Be Frames
CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®, (CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®) warrants this adjustable bed to the onsumer who is the original pur
haser (the “pur haser,” subje t to the terms and onditions set forth herein). This warranty begins on the “warranty ommen ement date,”
or the pur hase date for new and unused adjustable beds. For adjustable beds that have been used either as floor or display models, the
“warranty ommen ement date” is the date the bed was manufa tured. So, a floor or display model bed is overed by a portion of the limited
20-year warranty. The pur haser must show original proof of pur hase for warranty to be valid. If proof of pur hase is not presented,
CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®holds full right to determine whether the adjustable bed is overed by the warranty. In so doing,
CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®has the right to use the manufa turing date as the warranty ommen ement date.

FULL 3-YEAR WARRANTY (Parts)
This adjustable bed is warranted against defe ts in the workmanship or materials for a period of three years from the warranty ommen ement
date. Upon noti e during the first three years after the warranty ommen ement date, CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®will repla e any
defe tive adjustable bed part based on the riteria listed below.
YEAR 1: Full Coverage of Parts & Labor
This adjustable bed is warranted against workmanship and raftsmanship defe ts or defe tive materials for up to one (1) year from the war-
ranty ommen ement date. When notified by pur haser within the first year, CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®will supply repla ements (at
no ost to the pur haser) for any defe tive or malfun tioning adjustable bed part. CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®must authorize that the
part is defe tive or malfun tioning before repla ement parts are supplied to pur haser or any labor osts are absorbed. On e
CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®approves the part is defe tive or malfun tioning, they will absorb the osts for pre-authorized labor and any
transportation osts asso iated with the repair/repla ement of any parts. For this one (1) year warranty to be valid, any and all defe tive or
malfun tioning parts must be returned by the original pur haser (or by an authorized CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®in-home te hni ian
or agent) to CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ’s®Customer Care Center within 15 days of pur haser re eiving repla ement parts.
YEARS 2 An 3: Full Coverage of Parts Only.
After the first year from the warranty ommen ement date, and up to three (3) years from the warranty ommen ement date, CUSTOMATIC
ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®will provide repla ement parts for any defe tive or malfun tioning adjustable bed part upon re eiving written noti e from
the original pur haser. This two (2) year warranty is only valid on e any and all defe tive or malfun tioning parts are returned by the original
pur haser to CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ’s®Customer Care Center within 15 days of pur haser re eiving repla ement parts. The original
pur haser is responsible for all servi e, transportation, labor and shipping & handling osts related to the delivery and/or repla ement of the
defe tive or malfun tioning part(s).
YEARS 4 Through 20: Prorate Coverage of Non Electrical Parts Only.
After the third year of the warranty ommen ement date, and up to twenty (20) years from the warranty ommen ement date, CUSTOMATIC
ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®will issue repla ements (upon terms and onditions des ribed below) for any me hani al bed part found to be defe tive or
malfun tioning upon re eiving written noti e from the original pur haser. This does not apply to ele troni s, ele tri al omponents, massage
motors and lift motors. Pur haser will be required to pay 1/17th of the (then) urrent repla ement ost of the part multiplied by the number of
years past the third year from the warranty ommen ement date. CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®will take responsibility for the remaining
ost of the repla ement part. This seventeen (17) year warranty is only valid on e any and all defe tive or malfun tioning parts are returned by
the original pur haser to CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ’s®Customer Care Center within 15 days of pur haser re eiving repla ement parts.
Pur haser holds responsibility for all labor and transportation osts related to the repla ement of the defe tive part up to twenty (20) years after
the ommen ement date. After the twentieth year, pur haser will be responsible for the entire ost of repair and repla ement of all defe tive
parts and materials, in luding servi e and transportation osts asso iated with the repair or part repla ement.
ADDITIONAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS
This warranty is onsidered void: 1) if any damage to the adjustable bed is aused by the pur haser; 2) if any unauthorized repair or repla ement of
parts has taken pla e; 3) if the adjustable bed has been handled in orre tly in transit or otherwise, subje ted to physi al or ele tri al abuse or misuse, or
otherwise operated in a way that does not adhere to the guidelines for proper operation and maintenan e outlined in the Owner’s Manual, this war-
ranty, and any other appli able text published or approved by CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®; 4) in relation to any damage to mattresses, fabri ,
ables, ele tri al ords or items supplied by dealers. Conta t the dealer or relevant party for warranty information on these items; 5) if any unne essary
servi e alls have taken pla e, in luding fees for in-home servi e alls solely for the onsumer’s edu ational purposes or for finding an unsatisfa tory
power onne tion; 6) if the re ommended weight restri tions
(Twin/TXL/Split QN/Split CA King: 575 Pounds, Full/FXL: 600 Pounds, Queen: 650 Pounds)
and
guidelines for proper distribution of weight outlined in the Owner’s Manual are not followed.
Repairs to or repla ement of the adjustable bed or its omponents under the terms of this limited warranty will apply to the original warranty
period and will not serve to extend su h period.
The de ision for the repair or repla ement of defe tive parts under this warranty is at the option and sole dis retion of CUSTOMATIC
ADJUSTABLE BEDZ.

REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF ADJUSTABLE BED PARTS WILL BE THE SOLE REMEDY OF THE PURCHASER. CUSTOMATIC
ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®, AND THEIR PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, DIVISIONS, AFFILIATES OR AGENTS HOLD ABSOLUTELY NO
LIABILITY OR ANY SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR FOR ANY OTHER DAMAGE,
CLAIM, OR LOSS NOT EXPRESSLY COVERED BY THE TERMS OF THIS WARRANTY.

No reimbursement will be made to the pur haser for in onvenien e, removal, installation, setup time, la k of use, shipping, or any other osts
or expenses not overed by this warranty. CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®does not hold responsibility for in-home servi e on adjustable
beds. You must onta t your dealer or party that sold the adjustable bed for any terms and onditions relating to their in-home servi e, should
any exist.
CUSTOMATIC ADJUSTABLE BEDZ®, AND THEIR PARENTS, SUBSIDIARIES, DIVISIONS, AFFILIATES OR AGENTS MAKE NO
OTHER WARRANTY WHATSOEVER, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. ALL IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND
FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE ARE DISCLAIMED BY NAME AND EXCLUDED FROM THIS AGREEMENT.
The above limitation or ex lusion may not apply to every pur haser as some states disallow ex lusions or limitations of in idental or onsequential damages.
This warranty allows the pur haser spe ifi legal rights. The pur haser may also have other rights, whi h an vary from state to state. This warranty is valid in the
ontiguous United States, and in ludes Alaska, Puerto Ri o and Canada.
