Picture Frame Stock
When clamping square stock, auxiliary jaws are not used. Only
Spring-Loaded Jaws (A) are needed. Proceed to Step 3.
1. Choose the Auxiliary Jaw (B) set that best fits your
frame stock. Fig. 1.
2. If necessary for your application, remove the attached
Auxiliary Jaws and replace with other jaws using two hex
screws and hex wrench provided for assembly.
3. Support the end of long frame stock with a piece of 3/4"
thick scrap. Fig. 2.
4. Position the Angle Adjustment Knobs to the 90° position.

5. Insert both pieces of the frame stock against the back jaws and
slide them together to close the joint. The clamp is not
engaged at this point. Only hand pressure against the back
jaws is used.
Note: If the two frame pieces are cut accurately and form a
tight joint, proceed to Step 7.
6. If the miters are not cut to a perfect 45° and there is a gap
between the toe or heel of the joint, slightly rotate both
Angle Adjustment Knobs (C) to adjust the angle of the back
jaws until the joint is tight. Both Angle Adjustment Knobs
should be adjusted simultaneously for best results. Fig. 4.
It’s natural to over-adjust the Angle
Adjustment Knobs. In most situations, the knobs should be
left in the 90° position. Adjust only in very small increments.
7. Once the joint has been dry clamped and is tight, loosen the
clamp and apply glue on the joint.
8. Reposition the frame stock in the clamp and engage the clamp
by turning Large Clamp Knob (D) until the joint is tight.
Do NOT overtighten.
9. The miter can be fastened with glue, brads or specialty
picture frame fasteners.
