Care of oiled wooden surfaces
Furniture components made of solid wood change their dimensions depending on the
temperature and level of humidity. In order to prevent damage to wooden compo-
nents, the air in the room should have relative humidity of between 45 and 65% and a
temperature of between 15 and 25°C.
As the effects of light change the colour of oiled wooden surfaces, particularly during
the first weeks and months, decorative objects, table mats and similar items should
only be placed on the surface for brief periods at first. The wood remains lighter under-
neath objects left in position for extended periods.
In terms of its colour and structure, every solid wood panel is unique and unrepeatable.
Clean ng
To clean the table surface, it is sufficient to wipe down with a damp cloth and rub dry.
Fluids on the surface should be wiped away immediately with a damp cloth.
Aggressive alkaline cleaning agents and soap as well as abrasive cleaning utensils will
damage the surface and compromise the protective layer.
Care
As soon as the surface feels dry and spilt fluids no longer form beads on the surface,
the wood needs to be retreated.
Removal of stains and small areas of damage
1. Clean the wooden surfaces thoroughly the evening before using a damp cloth
and leave to dry.
2. Sand the whole of the wood surface using the provided sanding cloth or
fine sandpaper – grain 280 or finer – evenly in the direction of the grain.
3. Clean the wooden surfaces once again using a damp cloth and leave to dry
over night.
4. Put on a pair of gloves and ensure that the room is well ventilated.
5. Apply the treatment oil evenly in the direction of the grain using a cloth until
the wood has been evenly oiled all over.
6. Using a second cloth, rub the surface dry in the direction of the grain.
O l-saturated cloths can self- gn te. Immerse o l-saturated cloths n
water and d spose of them wet.
