1. If there are apron cords and an apron
bar installed on the back beam, remove
them. These will not be needed once the
new Sectional Beam is installed.
2. Place the rounded end of a dowel into
the hole in the end of the hammer block
(Figure A). Align the at end of the dowel
with the hole in the section and tap the
dowel in. If any of the dowels t loosely,
glue them in with a little wood glue.
3. Insert the wood screws into their
holes in a sectional beam leaf. The points
of the screws should extend out of the
hole about 1/2".
4. Place the wood section on one of the
at sides of the octagonal warp beam,
butting it up against the aluminum brake
drum. Hold the section square and even
along the warp beam, and tap gently on
the wood screws to make small marks in
the beam.
5. Remove the wood section. At each of
the marks, drill a 1/8" diameter hole about
3/4" deep. Now screw the wood section
to the warp beam. Repeat this process for
the other three wood sections.
6. Make loops of the provided cords by
tying both ends together with an overhand
knot. Insert the cord loops through the
holes that have been drilled between the
dowels on one of the wood sections and
through the knotted end of the cord as
illustrated in Figure A. Pull the loop to
tighten the cord against the section.
NOTE: Once the sectional beam is
installed on an 8 shaft loom, the loom
cannot be folded up completely.
