Operation
∙Close the lids.
∙Plug in the appliance. The red indicator
light comes on.
∙Turn the thermostat control to its
maximum setting.
∙Preheat the waffle iron for about eight
minutes. It is then ready for use.
∙Once the pre-set temperature is reached,
the green ready-light comes on.
∙Open the two lids.
∙Before use, the non-stick plates should
be lightly greased with a small amount of
oil or fat that is specifically intended for
frying and may be safely heated to high
temperatures.
∙Put the required amount of dough on the
middle of each of the lower plates.
∙Close the upper lid and press down gently
to help spread the dough evenly.
∙The baking time is in general 2 - 3
minutes, depending on the nature
of the dough as well as the selected
temperature.
∙Shortly after the dough is put in the waffle
iron, the green ready-light goes out. It will
come on again once the baking process
is finished, when the waffles can be
removed.
∙When taking the waffles off the plates, do
not use any sharp or pointed objects likely
to damage the non-stick coating.
∙Check the level of browning. Should the
waffle be too light or too dark, adjust the
temperature control or baking time.
∙Place fresh dough into the waffle iron
immediately after removing the waffle.
∙After use, remove the plug from the wall
socket and allow the appliance to cool
down with its cooking plates open.
Practical hints
∙In order to maintain the crispness of the
waffles, place them next to each other
on a rack to cool. (Placed on top of each
other, the waffles will lose their crispness).
∙If milk is used instead of water, the waffles
will be softer and darker.
∙In order to achieve even browning,
all ingredients should be of the same
temperature.
General care and cleaning
∙Before cleaning, remove the plug from the
wall socket and wait until the appliance
has cooled down with the cooking plates
open.
∙To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not
clean the appliance with water and do not
immerse it in water.
∙Do not use abrasives or harsh cleaning
solutions.
∙Clean the outside of the appliance with a
soft, slightly damp cloth only.
∙The non-stick plates can be cleaned
with a soft damp cloth, a soft brush or a
sponge.
