in
case
you
move.

INSTALLATION

Improper
installation
may
damage
the
copier.
Please
note
the
fol-
lowing
during
initial
installation
and
whenever
the
copier
is
moved.
1.
Be
sure
to
use
the
rated
power
supply
and
to
ground
the
copier.
2.
Do
not
plug
the
copier
into
an
outlet
used
by
other
appliances.
3.
Do
not
install
your
copier
in
areas
that
are:
@
damp,
humid,
or
very
dusty,
®
exposed
to
direct
sunlight,
®
poorly
ventilated,
@
subject
to
extreme
temperature
or
humidity
changes,
eg.
near
an
air
conditioner
or
heater.
4.
Place
the
copier
on
a
firm,
level
surface.
1.
Do
not
touch
the
photoconductive
drum.
Scratches
or
smudges
on
the
drum
will
cause
dirty
copies.
2.
The
fusing
area
is
hot.
Exercise
care
when
inspecting
this
area.

Upper

Remove
the
copier
from
the
bag,
remove
the
tape
holding
the
document
cover
and
exit
tray.

Press
the
buttons
on
both
sides
of
the
copier
and
open
the
front
cover.
If
the
drum
cartridge
is
factory
installed,
skip
steps

through
6
and
proceed
to
step
7.

Slide
the
document
cover
left
and
press
the
upper
half
release
button
to
open
the
copier.

Remove
the
cover
from
the
drum
cartridge.

Slide
the
drum
cartridge
into
place.

Close
the
upper
half,
making
sure
it
latches.

Remove
the
developer
cartridge
from
the
bag
and
shake
it
horizontally
four
or
five
times.
-
Remove
the
cover
from
the
developer
cartridge.
Save
the
developer
cartridge
cover.
It
should
be
used
to
seal
the
developer
cartridge
if
the
copier
must
be
shipped
for
servicing
or
in
case
you
move.

Slide
the
developer
cartridge
in
until
it
locks
in
place.
10.
Close
the
front
cover.
11.
Remove
the
paper
cassette
from
the
bag.

Fan
the
copy
paper
and
insert
it
into
the
cassette.

The
manual
feed
by-pass
is
used
to
feed
OHP
films,
labels,
tracing
paper,
and
other
special
purpose
papers.
For
best
results,
use
only
Sharp
recommended
supplies.
The
maximum
copy
size
is
A4
(8-1/2”
x
11”).
The
minimum
copy
size
is
55
x
91
mm
(2”
x
3-1/2”).
1.
Set
the
original
face
down
on
the
docu-
ment
glass,
and
close
the
document
cover.
2.
Set
the
by-pass
guide
to
the
width
of
the
copy
paper.
3.
Insert
a
single
sheet
of
copy
paper
into
the
manual
feed
by-pass.

The
paper
will
be
fed
automatically
and
the
copy
made.
If
copies
are
difficult
to
remove
from
the
exit
tray
when
copying
on
a
business
card
or
other
small
card,
pull
out
the
card
tray
to
remove
the
copy.

accidentally
torn
when
removing
a
misfeed,

all
pieces.

careful
not

damage
the
photoconductive
drum
or
corona
wires.

The
copier
stops
after
the
copy
run

progress
has
been
completed.
The
service
life
of
the
developer
cartridge
is
estimated
to
be
3,000
copies
of
aver-
age
letter
type
originals.
If
originals
having
pictures
or
other
large
dark
areas
are
copied,
the
developer
life
will
be
reduced
accordingly.
To
replace
the
developer
cartridge,
follow
the
directions
below.

Open
the
front
cover.

Press
down
on
the
catch
and
pull
out
the
developer
cartridge.

Shake
the
new
developer
cartridge
horizontally
four
or
five
times
and
remove
the
cover.

Slide
the
new
developer
cartridge
or
the
desired
colour
developer
cartridge
in
un-
til
it
locks
in
place.
.
Close
the
front
cover.
After
installing
the
new
developer
cartridge,

wait
approximately
two
minutes
for
the
READY
indicator
to
light
up.

Replace

developer
cartridge,
close

upper
half
so
it
latches
and
then
close

front
cover.
