Preparations
Turnonyouraudiosystemiftheplayerhasbeen
connectedtoanaudiosystemand turnonyourTV.
BasicPlay
1. Press OPERATE.
2.Press OPEN/CLOSE ( )toopen the disctray..
3.Placeadiscontothetray.
Hold thedisc withouttouching eitherofitssurfaces,position
itwiththeprintedtitlesidefacing up,align itwiththeguides,
andplaceit initsproperposition.
4. Press OPEN/CLOSE ( ).
Amenu mayappearontheTVscreenafterafewmoments
orthefilmmaystart immediatelyaftertheintroductionofthe
FilmCompany. Thisbehaviourdependsonthedisc content
and maychange.
¥NOTE:
•Step5and6isavailable onlywhen amenuisrecorded
onthedisc.
5. Press 3/4/6/5orthe numberbutton(s)toselect
thepreferredtitle.
6. Press SELECT.
Playoftheselecteditemsnowstarts.Theplayed itemmay
be amotion picture,astillpictureoranothersubmenu
depending onthedisc.
¥NOTE:
•Whenusing menusthedisc controlsthebehaviourof the
player.
Forstoppingplayandreturning tothemenu screen (when
amenu isavailableonthedisc), press MENU or TITLE
depending onthedisc. Playissuspended, and theDisc
menu screenisdisplayed.
Afteroperation
Whentheunitisnotinuse, removethedisc andpress
OPERATE toturnoff theunit.
¥NOTE:
• The disccontinuestorotatewhilethemenuisdisplayed
evenaftertheplayerhasfinished playingaparticularitem.
When nofurtherselectionsaretobe played, besureto
press STOP (<)toclearthemenu display.
• Ifthedisc isplacedin upsidedown(and itisasinglesided
disc), theVFDdisplayontheplayerwill indicate NODISC.
Foryourreference:
Ifanactioncorresponding toabuttonisprohibited, the

symbolappears.
Stopping Play
Press STOP (<)twice.
Whenplayisstopped,the unit recordsthepointwhere
STOP (<)waspressed once(RESUMEfunction).Press
PLAY/ PAUSE again, and playwillresumefromthispoint.
Whenthetrayisopenedorthe STOP (<)ispressedagain,
theRESUMEfunctionwillbe cleared.
Tostoptheplaypermanently, press STOP (<)twice.
When the STOP (<)ispressed forthe firsttime,a
message “PRESS PLAYTOCONTINUE” willappearon
the screentoremind you if you wanttocontinuetheplay.
Tostoptheplaypress STOP (<)again oryoucanpress
PLAY/PAUSE tocontinue.
FastForward / Reverse
Press SLOW/SEARCH (7 Fastreverseor 8Fast
forward)ontheremotecontrolduring playback.
Normalplayisresumedwhenthe PLAY/PAUSE or SELECT
buttonontheremotecontrolispressed.
The speed of forwardorreversechangesforevery
press 8or 7.
Skip Forward / Backward
Press SKIP/FRAME 9or :duringplayback.
Achapterisskippedforwardorbackwardeachtimethe

Pause
