●Bei Einstellung der ON/STAND-BY-Taste auf STAND-BY ist die
Netzspannung immer noch im Gerät vorhanden.
Wenn die ON/STAND-BY-Taste auf STAND-BY eingestellt wird, kann das
Gerät unter Verwendung der Timer-Betriebsart oder Fernbedienung in
Betrieb gesetzt werden.
Warnung:
In diesem Gerät sind keine vom Benutzer wartbaren Teile vorhanden.
Niemals Abdeckungen entfernen, außer wenn Sie dafür qualifiziert sind. In
diesem Gerät sind gefährliche Spannungen vorhanden. Vor Ausführung
von irgendwelchen Kundendienstarbeiten oder bei längerer Nicht-

●Quando il tasto ON/STAND-BY si trova in posizione STAND-BY, all’interno
dell’apparecchio c’è ancora la corrente.

Precautions
„General
zPlease ensure that the equipment is positioned in a well ventilated area and that
there is at least 10 cm (4") of free space along the sides and back. There must
also be a minimum of 15 cm (6") of free space on the top of the unit.
zUse the unit on a firm, level surface free from vibration.
zKeep the unit away from direct sunlight, strong magnetic fields, excessive dust,
humidity and electronic/electrical equipment (home computers, facsimiles, etc.)
which generates electrical noise.
zDo not place anything on top of the unit.
zDo not expose the unit to moisture, to temperatures higher than 60°C (140°F) or to
extremely low temperatures.
zIf your system does not work properly, disconnect the AC power lead from the wall
socket. Plug the AC power lead back in, and then turn on your system.
zIn case of an electrical storm, unplug the unit for safety.
zHold the AC power plug by the head when removing it from the wall socket, as
pulling the lead can damage internal wires.
zDo not remove the outer cover, as this may result in electric shock. Refer
internal service to your local SHARP service facility.
zThe ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with
items, such as newspapers, tablecloths, curtains, etc.
zNo naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the appa-
ratus.
zAttention should be drawn to the environmental aspects of battery disposal.
zThe apparatus is designed for use in moderate climate.
zThis unit should only be used within the range of 5°C - 35°C (41°F - 95°F).
Warning:
The voltage used must be the same as that specified on this unit. Using this product
with a higher voltage other than that which is specified is dangerous and may result in
a fire or other type of accident causing damage. SHARP will not be held responsible
for any damage resulting from use of this unit with a voltage other than that which is
specified.
Caution:
zDuring use the unit will get warm, do not touch warm areas of the unit for pro-
longed periods to avoid damage to you or the unit.
zThis product is equipped with special function which protects amplifier circuit from
damages. When it is activated, sound switch is turned off. In this case, set the unit
to the stand-by mode and turn it on again.
„Volume control
The sound level at a given volume setting depends on speaker efficiency, location,
and various other factors. It is advisable to avoid exposure to high volume levels, to
avoid this do not turn the volume on to full at switch on and listen to music at moder-
ate levels.
„Care of DVD/CD discs
DVD/CD discs are fairly resistant to damage, however mistracking can occur due to
an accumulation of dirt on the disc surface. Follow the guidelines below for maximum
enjoyment from your DVD/CD collection and player.
zDo not write on either side of the disc, particularly the non-label side from which
signals are read. Do not mark this surface.
zKeep your discs away from direct sunlight, heat, and excessive moisture.
zAlways hold the DVD/CDs by the edges. Fingerprints, dirt, or water on the DVD/
CDs can cause noise or mistracking. If a DVD/CD is dirty or does not play properly,
clean it with a soft, dry cloth, wiping straight out from the centre, along the radius.

Description of discs
„Types of playable discs
The unit can play back discs bearing any of the following marks:
„Discs that cannot be played
zThe discs above cannot be played at all, or no sound is heard although images
appear on the screen or vice versa.
zFaulty playback may damage the speakers and can have an adverse effect on
your hearing when played at high volume settings.
zYou cannot play illegally produced discs.
Notes:
zA disc that has scratches or fingerprints on it may not play properly. Refer to "Care
of DVD/CD discs (page 4)" and clean the disc.
zDo not play the discs of special shapes (heart or octagon shaped) as they can be
ejected from the machine whilst rotating and cause injury.
„Title, chapter and track
DVDs are divided into "titles" and "chapters". If the disc has more than one movie on
it, each movie is a separate "title". "Chapters" are subdivisions of titles.
The video and audio CDs consist of "tracks".
A "track" is each tune on an audio CD.
Note:
Title, chapter, or track numbers may not be recorded on some discs.
