ATM60 Encoder sind nach den anerkannten
Regeln der Technik hergestellte Messgeräte.
• Der Anbau des Encoders ist von einem
Fachmann mit Kenntnissen in Elektrik und
Feinmechanik vorzunehmen.
• Der Encoder darf nur zu dem seiner Bauart
entsprechenden Zweck verwendet werden.
Sicherheitshinweise
• Beachten Sie die für Ihr Land gültigen
berufsgenossenschaftlichen Sicherheits-
und Unfallverhütungsvorschriften.
• Schalten Sie die Spannung bei allen von
der Montage betroffenen Geräte/
Maschinen und Anlagen ab.
• Elektrische Verbindungen zum Encoder
nie bei eingeschalteter Spannung
herstellen bzw. lösen, kann zu Geräte-
defekt führen.
• Für die einwandfreie Funktion der Geräte
ist auf eine gute Erdung bzw. auf eine
EMV gerechte Schirmverbindung (beid-
seitiges Auflegen des Schirms) zu
achten.
• Schläge auf die Welle bzw. Spannzange
vermeiden
Encoder mit Servoflansch
Bei dieser Flanschausführung gibt es 2
Anbaumöglichkeiten:
• über die 3 flanschseitigen Gewindebohrun-
gen oder
• mit Servoklammern an der Servonut
Anbau über flanschseitige Gewindebohrun-
gen (Bild 1)
Kundenseitige Antriebswelle blockieren.
Kupplung (1) am Encoder montieren; darauf
achten, dass diese nicht am Encoder-Flansch
streift. Encoder mit montierter Kupplung (1)
auf Antriebswelle und Zentriersatz (2)
aufschieben.
Encoder mit 3 Schrauben M4 (3) befestigen.
Kupplung (1) auf der Antriebswelle befesti-
gen. Darauf achten, dass die Kupplung keiner
axialen Spannung ausgesetzt wird.
Elektrische Verbindung bei abgeschalteter
Spannung herstellen. Spannung einschalten
und Funktion des Encoders prüfen.
Anbau mit Servoklammern
(Bild 2)
Kundenseitige Antriebswelle blockieren.
Kupplung (1) am Encoder montieren; darauf
achten, dass sie nicht am Encoder-Flansch
streift. Servoklammern (2) mit Schrauben
M4 (3) montieren.
Schrauben nicht festziehen, Servoklammern
so verdrehen, dass der Encoder-Flansch in
die Zentrierung geschoben werden kann.
Encoder mit montierter Kupplung (1) auf
Antriebswelle und Zentrierung aufschieben.
Servoklammer (2) durch Drehen in die Nut
einrücken und leicht festziehen. Kupplung (1)
auf Antriebswelle befestigen. Darauf achten,
dass die Kupplung keiner axialen Spannung
ausgesetzt wird.
Alle 3 Schrauben der Servoklammern
festziehen.
Elektrische Verbindung bei abgeschalteter

Encoder mit Klemmflansch
Bei dieser Flanschausführung gibt es 2
Anbaumöglichkeiten:
• über die flanschseitigen
Gewindebohrungen
• mittels Klemmung am Klemmansatz
Anbau über flanschseitige Gewinde-
bohrungen (Bild 3)
Kundenseitige Antriebswelle blockieren.
Kupplung (1) montieren; darauf achten, dass
sie nicht am Encoder-Flansch streift.
Encoder mit montierter Kupplung (1) auf
Antriebswelle und Zentrier-/Klemmsatz (3)
aufschieben.
Encoder mit 3 Schrauben M4 (2) befestigen,
Kupplung (1) auf der Antriebswelle
befestigen.
Die Kupplung darf keinen axialen
Spannungen ausgesetzt werden.
Elektrische Verbindung bei abgeschalteter
Spannung herstellen. Spannung einschalten
und Funktion des Encoders prüfen.
Anbau über den Klemmansatz (Bild 4)
Da der Klemmansatz gleichzeitig auch
Zentrieransatz ist, muss die Klemmvorrich-
tung so ausgebildet sein, dass beim Fest-
klemmen kein unzulässiger Winkel bzw.
Wellenversatz entsteht.
Kundenseitige Antriebswelle blockieren.
Kupplung (1) montieren; darauf achten, dass
sie beim Verdrehen der Welle nicht am Enco-
der-Flansch streift. Encoder mit montierter
Kupplung (1) auf Antriebswelle und
Klemmansatz in Klemmvorrichtung (2)
aufschieben.
Encoder mit Schraube (3) festklemmen.
Kupplung (1) auf der Antriebswelle
befestigen.
Die Kupplung darf keinen axialen
Spannungen ausgesetzt werden.
Elektrische Verbindung bei abgeschalteter
Spannung herstellen. Spannung einschalten
und Funktion des Encoders prüfen.
Encoder mit Flansch für Aufsteckhohlwelle
(Bild 5)
Kundenseitige Antriebswelle blockieren.
Zylinderschraube (2) an Klemmring (1) lösen.
Encoder mit Spannzange auf Antriebswelle
aufschieben.
Anbauhinweis Bild (6) beachten!
Momentenstütze (3) mit 4 Schrauben M3 (4)
und U-Scheiben befestigen.
Zylinderschraube (2) an Klemmring (1) fest-
ziehen.
Anzugsmoment 1,3 Nm

Nullpunkt-Justage*
ATM60 Encoder besitzen eine elektrische
Nullpunkt-Justage.
Die Nullpunkt-Justage kann auf 2 Arten aus-
geführt werden:
• Taster unter dem PG-Stopfen an der
Rückseite des Gehäuses betätigen
• Über eine SET-Leitung, die von der
Steuerung aus bedient werden kann
* Der SET-Wert kann mit Hilfe eines Program-
ming-Tools frei definiert werden.
Nullpunkt-Justage mittels Taster
Spannung einschalten. Antriebswelle mit
bereits montiertem Encoder auf die mechani-
sche Null-Position setzen. PG-Stopfen ent-
fernen. Taster mit einem geeigneten, stump-
fen und nichtleitenden Gegenstand mind.
40 ms betätigen.
Da sich bei der Nulljustage der Positionswert
sprunghaft ändert, muss gewährleistet sein,
dass keine ungewollte Bewegung der Antrie-
be verursacht wird.
PG-Stopfen wieder montieren.
Nullpunkt-Justage mittels SET-Leitung
Spannung einschalten. Antriebswelle mit
bereits montiertem Encoder auf die mechani-
sche Null-Position setzen. SET-Leitung mit
einem Pegel von 0,7*Us...Us für eine Dauer
von mind. 40 ms beschalten.
Da sich bei der Nulljustage der Positionswert
sprunghaft ändert, muss gewährleistet sein,
dass keine ungewollte Bewegung der Antrie-
be verursacht wird.
Zählrichtung
Der Vor-/Rück-Eingang (V/R_) bestimmt die
Zählrichtung des Encoders.
Unbeschaltet liegt dieser Eingang auf „HIGH“.
Wird der Encoder, auf die Antriebswelle gese-
hen, im Uhrzeigersinn gedreht (Rechtslauf),
zählt er in aufsteigender Reihenfolge. Soll er
jedoch bei einer Drehrichtung gegen den Uhr-
zeigersinn aufsteigend zählen, dann muss
dieser Anschluss statisch auf „LOW“-Pegel
(GND) gelegt werden.
Wartungshinweise
ATM60 Encoder sind wartungsfrei.
Wir empfehlen in regelmäßigen Abständen
- die mechanische Befestigung zu
überprüfen.
- Verschraubungen und Steckverbindungen
zu überprüfen.

ATM60 Encoders are state-of-the-art measu-
ring instruments.
• The Encoder must be installed by trained
personnel with knowledge of electrical
engineering and precision engineering.
• The Encoder must only be used for its
intended purpose.
Safety advice
• Observe the professional Safety and
Accident Prevention Regulations appli-
cable to your country.
• Switch off the voltage to all devices/
machines and systems affected by the
installation process.
• Never electrically connect or disconnect
the Encoder with the voltage switched
on, this may lead to damage to the unit.
• For the satisfactory operation of the
devices, ensure good earthing or an EM-
compatible screen connection (screen
connected at both ends).
• Avoid striking the shaft or collet.
Encoders with servo flange
This flange design offers two installation opti-
ons:
• via the 3 threaded holes on the flange side
or
• with servo clamps on the servo groove
Installation via threaded holes on the
flange side (Figure 1)
Lock the drive shaft on the application side.
Mount the coupling (1) on the Encoder;
ensure that it does not touch the Encoder
flange. Push the Encoder, with mounted cou-
pling (1), onto the drive shaft and mounting
spigot into the centring recess (2).
Fix the Encoder with 3 M4 screws (3).
Fix the coupling (1) to the drive shaft. The
coupling must not be subjected to any axial
stresses.
Make the electric connections with the volta-
ge switched off. Switch on the voltage and
check the operation of the Encoder.
Installation with servo clamps (Figure 2)
Lock the drive shaft on the application side.
Mount the coupling (1) on the Encoder;
ensure that it does not touch the Encoder
flange. Mount the servo clamps (2) with M4
screws (3).
Do not tighten screws, rotate the servo
clamps such that the Encoder flange can be
pushed into the centring recess.
Push the Encoder, with mounted coupling (1),
onto drive shaft and centring recess.
Place the servo clamp (2), into the groove,
and tighten lightly. Fix the coupling (1) to the
drive shaft. The coupling must not be subjec-
ted to any axial stresses.
Tighten all 3 screws of the servo clamps.
Make the electric connections with the volta-
ge switched off. Switch on the voltage and
check the operation of the Encoder.

Encoders with face mount flange
This flange design offers two installation opti-
ons:
• via the threaded holes on the flange side
• by clamping the mounting spigot
Installation via the threaded holes on the
flange side (Figure 3)
Lock the drive shaft on the application side.
Mount the coupling (1); ensure that it does
not touch the Encoder flange.
Push the Encoder, with mounted coupling (1),
onto the drive shaft and centring/clamping
arrangement (3).
Fix the Encoder with 3 M4 screws (2), fix the
coupling (1) to the drive shaft.
The coupling must not be subjected to any
axial stresses.
Make the electrical connections with the vol-
tage switched off. Switch on the voltage and
check the operation of the Encoder.
Installation via the mounting spigot
(Figure 4)
Since the mounting spigot is also the means
of centring, the clamping device must be con-
structed such that clamping firmly does not
lead to an invalid angle or shaft offset.
Lock the drive shaft on the application side.
Mount the coupling (1); ensure that, when the
shaft is rotated, it does not touch the Enco-
der flange. Push the Encoder, with mounted
coupling (1), onto the drive shaft, and the
mounting spigot into the clamping device (2).
Clamp the Encoder with the screw (3). Fix the
coupling (1) on the drive shaft.
The coupling must not be subjected to any
axial stresses.
Make the electrical connections with the vol-
tage switched off. Switch on the voltage and
check the operation of the Encoder.
Encoders with stator coupling for blind
hollow shaft (Figure 5)
Lock the drive shaft on the application side.
Loosen the Hexagonal screw (2) on the clam-
ping ring (1).
Push the Encoder and collet onto the drive
shaft.
Take note of installation Figure (6).
Fix the torque support (3) with 4 M3 screws
(4) and washers.
Firmly tighten the hexagonal screw (2) on the
clamping ring (1).
Tightening torque 1.3 Nm
Make the electrical connections with the vol-
tage switched off. Switch on the voltage and
check the operation of the Encoder.

Zero-point adjustment*
ATM60 Encoders feature electric zero-point
adjustment.
The zero point can be adjusted in 2 ways:
• By pressing operating the button located
under PG cap on the back of the housing
• Via a SET line, which can be operated by
the control system
* The SET value can be freely defined using a
programming tool.
Zero-point adjustment using the button
Switch on the voltage. Move the drive shaft,
with the Encoder already mounted, to the
mechanical zero position. Remove the PG
cap. Press the button using a suitable, blunt
and non-conducting object for at least 40 ms.
Since the position value alters rapidly during
activation of the zero-point adjustment, ensu-
re that the drive shaft cannot move during
activation.
Refit the PG cap.
Zero-point adjustment using the SET line
Switch on the voltage. Move the drive shaft,
with the Encoder already mounted, to the
mechanical zero position. Apply a level of
0.7*Us...Us, to the SET line, for at least 40 ms.
Since the position value alters rapidly during
activation of the zero-point adjustment, ensu-
re that the drive shaft cannot move during
activation.
Counting direction
The forward/backward input (V/R_) determi-
nes the Encoder’s counting direction.
If not connected, this input will be “HIGH”.
When, looking at the Encoder shaft and rota-
ting it clockwise (right turn), it will count in
ascending sequence. However, if it is
required that the encoder counts in
ascending sequence, with anticlockwise
rotation, then this connection must be
permanently connected to the “LOW” level
(GND).
Maintenance advice
ATM60 Encoders are maintenance-free.
We recommend regularly
- checking the mechanical fixings.
- checking the screw connections and
plug-in connections.
