1 Allgemeines
During service parts of the circuit-breaker are under
hazardous voltage and under spring pressure. Do not
touch live parts.
Function checks and putting into service may be per-
formed by qualified personnel only. Before a switching
operation shut the door or wear a protective face mask.
Non-compliance can result in death, severe personal
injury and substantial property damage.
Beim Betrieb stehen Teile des Leistungsschalters unter
gefährlicher elektrischer Spannung sowie unter Feder-
kraft. Spannungsführende Teile dürfen nicht berührt
werden.

ZumAnschlußdesHandbediengerätes3WX3647-6JA00anden elek-
tronischen Überstromauslöser 3WN wird der gesondert zu beziehen-
de Netz-Adapter 3WX3647-6JA01 benötigt.
Das gesondert zu beziehende Netzteil 3WX3647-6JA02 ist nicht not-
wendig,wennderelektronischeÜberstromauslöser3WNaktiv ist, d.h.
wennausreichendStromdurchdenLeistungsschalterfließtoderwenn
der elektronische Überstromauslöser fremdversorgt ist (Active-LED
blinkt).
1. DerelektronischeÜberstromauslöserdarf nicht in Überlast sein.
2. Netz-Adapter (2) an Leitungsstecker (4) des Handbediengerä-
tes (1) anschliessen.
3. Falls notwendig, Netzteil (3) an Netz-Adapter (2) anschliessen.
4. Netz-Adapter (2) in Prüfbuchse (10) des elektronischen Über-
stromauslösers stecken.
5. Handbediengerät (1) mit Schiebeschalter (7) einschalten.
• Nach ca. 5-10 Sekunden erscheint in der LCD-Anzeige des
Handbediengerätes der Schalternennstrom.
• Wird das Handbediengerät nicht an einen Leistungsschalter
angeschlossen, oder ist dieser nicht aktiviert, und das
Handbediengerät wird eingeschaltet, erscheint nach ca. 5- 10
Sekunden in der LCD-Anzeige des Handbediengerätes die
Meldung “no device”.
Connection
Thepower unit adapter 3WX3647-6JA01,whichmust be ordered sep-
arately, is required to connect the hand-held unit 3WX3647-6JA00 to
the electronic overcurrent release 3WN.
The power unit 24V DC 3WX3647-6JA02 is not required when the
electronic overcurrent release 3WN is active, e.g.: when sufficient pri-
mary current is flowing through the circuit breaker or when the elec-
tronic overcurrent release is powered from an external source (the
Active-LED blinks).
1. The electronic overcurrent release must not be indicating an
overload condition.
2. Connect the power unit adapter (2) to the cable connector (4) of
the hand-held unit (1).
3. I f necessary, connect the power unit (3) to the power unit adapter (2) .
4. Connect the power unit adapter (2) to the test connector (10) of
the electronic overcurrent release.
5. Switch the hand-held unit (1) on with the slide switch (7).
• After approx. 5-10 seconds the rated current of the circuit-
breaker will appear in the LCD display.
• If the hand-held unit is not connected to a circuit-breaker, or if
the breaker is not activated and the hand-held unit is switched
on,themessage“nodevice”willappearintheLCDdisplayofthe
hand-held unit after approx. 5-10 seconds.

3 Menü
DieBewegungsmöglichkeiteninnerhalbderMenüstruktursind
inder Anzeige durch Pfeile gekennzeichnet.Die Auswahl der
Menüpunkte erfolgt durch Betätigung der Cursortasten des
Handbediengerätes (1). Je nach Auslöser-Ausführung sind
nichtvorhandene odergesperrte Menüpunktemit„*“gekenn-
zeichnet.
Alle Einstellwerte können direkt in Ampere eingegeben wer-
den, wie auch in Prozent vom Schalternennstrom.
Um in die Prozenteingabe zu gelangen muß bei einer Werte-
eingabe durch Drücken der „ ← “- Taste ein Wert kleiner als
315 A gewählt werden. Das Gerät schaltet dann den elektr.
Überstromauslöser und sich selbst in den Prozentmodus.
Sowie ein Wert größer als 314% eingegeben wird wechselt
alles zurück in den Amperemodus, in dem direkt die ge-
wünschten Werte in Ampere eingegeben werden.
3 Menu
Themovementoptionswithinthemenustructureareindicated
on the display by means of arrows. Selection of the menu
options is effected by pressing the appropriate cursor keys of
the hand-held unit (1). According to the release type, menu
options which are not present or disabled are marked "*".
Allcurrentvaluescanbedirectlyenteredinamperesandalso
as a percentage of the breaker rated current.
Toenterthe percentage mode, a valuelessthan315 A has to
be selected by pressing the „
← “ key. The unit then switches
itself and the electrical overcurrent release into the percent-
age mode. As soon as a value greater than 314% is entered,
everything changes back to the ampere mode into which the
required values can be directly entered in amperes.

Dieser Fehler tritt nur auf, wenn ein Modell D, E/F, in prozen-
tualerEinstellungaufeinenAuslöserJ/K,H,NundPkopiertwird.
Wollen Sie trotzdem diese Parameter von D, E/F kopieren,
stellen Sie im Menü „Status In“ den Wandlerbemessungs-
strom auf >315 A und wiederholen Sie die Kopierfunktion.

Über diesen Menüpunkt erfolgt die Auswahl der
Sprache für die Menüführung. Zur Zeit stehen
deutsch und englisch zur Auswahl.

menu guidance is carried out. At present there is
a choice of German and English.
NacherfolgreichemKopiervorgangverzweigtdasMenüauto-
matischin„Status In“.Die kopiertenDatenbleiben fürweitere
Kopiervorgänge erhalten.
Menü Lesen 3WN
ÜberdiesesMenükönnendieParameterdes3WN6eingege-
ben werden. Das Handbediengerät erkennt automatisch wel-
cher Auslöser angeschlossen ist (z.Bsp. Typ D, siehe oben).
Die Zahl hinter dem Auslösertyp stellt die noch zu lesenden
Parametriersätze dar. Nach erfolgtem Auslesen verzweigt
dasMenüautomatisch aufMenü „Write3WN“.Jetzt kanndas
Handbediengerät auf einen anderen Auslöser gesteckt wer-
den.
Menü Schreiben 3WN
Über dieses Menü können Parameter an einen 3WN6 Auslö-
ser übertragen werden. Voraussetzung für das Abschreiben
ist, daß ein gültiger Parametriersatz eingegeben wurde. Ist
das nicht geschehen, erscheint kurzzeitig die Meldung „No
read3WN“imDisplay.WenndieMeldung„InError“erscheint,
wurdeversucht,einenAuslösermitprozentualenParametern
aufeinenAuslösermitabsolutenParameternzukopieren.Bei
dieser Meldung werden alle Kopierdaten im Bediengerät
gelöscht.

Read 3WN menu
The parameters of the 3WN6 release can be entered via this
menu. The hand-held unit automatically recognises which
release is connected (e.g. Type D, see above). The number
followingthe release type represents theset of parameters to
be read. Once these have been successfully read, the menu
automaticallybranchesintothe”Write3WN”menu.Thehand-
held unit can now be connected to another release.
Write 3WN menu
Via this menu parameters can be transmitted to a 3WN6
release. To be able to copy the parameters it is necessary that
a valid set of parameters has been entered. If this is not the
case,themessage”Noread3WN”willappearinthedisplayfor
ashort time. If themessage”In error“ appears, thismeansthat
an attempt was made to copy a release with percentage
parameters to a release with absolute parameters. With this
message, all copying data is deleted from the hand-held unit.
Note:
This error only occurs if a D, E/F model with a precentage
setting is being copied onto a J/K, H, N and P release.
If you still wish to copy these parameters from D, E/F, set the
transformer rated current to >315 A in the ”Status In” menu
and repeat the copying function.
After the copying process has been successfully carried out,
themenuwillautomaticallybranchinto”StatusIn”.Thecopied
data are kept for any further copying processes.

spective release is stored at Siemens under

clarification in the event of any queries regar-
ding the electronic release.
