The system was prestaged, tested and programmed in the factory with all components.
System start-up and the function checks required should be performed in accordance with
Start-up Instructions, RXL2-120.034.01.
The system is operational once installation and start-up have been completed.
The system is shipped in the following sections:
•LITHOSTARMultiline- basicunit.
•Generatorpowerunit cabinet,equippedwith componentsand boards.
•H1HFhigh voltagetransformer.
•Twostandardcabinets.
•Controlconsole.
•Accessories/coverpanels.
Requirements 1
- Thepreinstallationwork stepsmust havebeencompleted inaccordance with Planning
Guide(PG)RXL2-120.021.01.
- Prior to the installation, thepower lineconnection mustbecompleted andprovided
withasystem breaker,anemergency OFFswitch, and groundfault detectoras
specifiedinthe PlanningGuide (PG) RXL2-120.021.01.
- Thehardware formountingthe unittothefloor(Liebig expansionbolts/mounting plate)
mustbeinstalled perInstallationInstructions RXL2-120.038.01...
- Theconditionof theaccess routewithinthe building,as well asthe conditionofthe
roominwhich theunit is tobe installed,mustbe incompliance with theproject
drawingsandthe datalisted under the”General InstallationandConditions of
Shipment-Med. TechnologyDivision”.

Generator and Cabinet Installation
With the exception of the cooling unit and the high voltage charger, the cabinets are
shipped from the factory completely assembled and are individually crated.
We recommend setting up and bolting down the generator according to the project plan or
Figure 1 before installing the remaining cabinets.
Polydoros LX 2
•Markonthe flooranddrill thefour mounting holesfor the generatorcabinet at its
intendedlocationusing thesupplied template.
•Drilltheholes andinsertthe Liebiganchorsthat areincluded intheshipment (Fig.2).
•Removealltransport safetybracketsfrom thegenerator.
•Takethegenerator offthepallet.
•Ifnecessary,knock outthe cable inletin thegeneratorcabinet forinterconnections with
theadjacentcabinet. Installthe edgeprotectionstrip (servicepackage).
•Mountthegeneratorinplace byinsertingthe4 hexboltsinto theLiebig screwanchors.
Do not insert the H1 high-voltage transformer until the generator
is cabled in the power cabinet.

•Movethepower cabinetinto its location.
•Attachthetop ofthe cabinet tothe wallwithretaining bracketsto prevent thecabinet
fromtilting.
•Ifrequired,the cabinetcan alsobebolted tothefloor.
•Ifrequired,remove thecoverfor thecorrespondingcable inleton the generatorcabinet.
•Movecabinets A12 andA13 to theirlocation according tothe projectplanor theabove
example (Fig.1).
•Thesplashguard hasto be installedbetween thecontrol cabinet A12 andtheshock
wavecabinetA13. Ifnecessary, turnit around.
•Installthesidewalls ofthe cabinets.
•Withinthescope ofvalidity of theUL regulations(e.g.USA) themetalcase shouldnot be
removeddueto fireprotection.
•Installthe enclosedscrew(1/Fig.3)with nut(2/Fig.3) toacabinettoconnect thecabinet.
Thenmovethe secondcabinetto itsposition and tightenwith nut (4/Fig.3) and flat
washer(3/Fig.3).
•Movethecabinets totheirfinal positionandbolt themtothe walland the floor.

•Unpackthecharging unit,place it onthe rails providedin theshockwave cabinetabove
theelectronicsunit N12and secure iton thefrontusing 4screws.
•Connectthepower linecableat N12(1 on L1,2 onNand ge/gnonPE).
•Pluginthe cablefrom the N12,K108 tothecharger controlleronthe charger.

•Placethecooling systemon the railsprovided inthe shock wavecabinet A13 (underthe
N12electronicsunit), slideit into positionand secureiton thefront using twoscrews.
•Insertthehoses inthe appropriate connectionsaccording to marking,and ensurethat
theylockinto position.
•Plugthepower lineconnectorfor thecooling systemintothe socketonthe electronics
unitatN12.X3.
•Connecttheprotective conductorbetween the coolingsystem and theshock wave
cabinet.
Setting Up the Unit 2
•Placethefour transportrollers (2/Fig. 4)onto thetransportcarriage ontheyellow
shippingframeat (c/Fig.5) and boltthem inplace.
•Removetheshipping palletfrom the unit.
Lifttheunit withthe help ofthe spindlesandpull thetransportation pallets outto the side.
•Dependingonthe dimensionsof the transportroute, itmaybe necessaryto reposition
the rollers on thecarriage (Pos. a or b inFig. 5)andbolt themin place.
Forthisreason, theunitshould beloweredon anappropriate woodenbase.
•Movetheunit toitsinstallation locationandplace itnext to themounting plate.
To avoid the risk of excessive heat build-up, make sure that the
ventilation inside and outside the cabinet is always sufficient.
When lowering the unit, the cable harnesses must not be dam-
aged.

•Put the insulation plates ontop of the thoroughlycleaned mounting plate(Fig. 6)
(thedrillholes fortheequipment mustnot be covered).
•Uncoilthefour cableharnessesthat arepermanently connected tothe unit andlay them
out(Fig.7).
•Guidethefree endsofthe cableharnessesinto theopening in themounting plate, and
intothecorresponding cabinetsvia the cableconduits.
The cable harnesses are color-coded:
- blue for the shock wave cabinet
- green for the control cabinet
- yellow for the generator
The correspondingly color-coded target connections are located
in the cabinets.

•Movetheunit sothat it ispositioned correctlyoverthe mountingplateand sothat it is
leveli.e.,lower allfour transport rollersevenly (Fig.8).
•Mountthe unitusing 12boltsandinsulatingsleeves onthe floor.Apply Loctite221onthe
boltthreadsto securethem(Fig. 9):
•Removetheentire transportdevice.
•Removetheyellow shippingbrackets on theW-drive.
•Measuretheresistance toensure that theunit iselectrically isolatedonthe mounting
plate.
•Carefullyfeedthrough thecable harnesses.Storeany excesscablelengths. Rollthem
upwithoutkinks.
Donotplace anyexcess cable orcable loopsinthe unitframe,since theymay come into
contactwiththe movingenergy chain andbecome damaged.
Donotblock themovement of theenergy chain.
•Removethetransport safetybracketfrom theI.I. collision protection.
- 8xRecessed sockethead M 8 x 4 tighten to 24 Nm, ±10%
- 4xHex head M10 x 25
(The bolts are contained in the box with service materials.)
Excess cable lengths may not be stored in the cabinets.

For all visible surfaces, special paneling screws with 2.5 Allen sockets have been pro-
vided.
•Therequiredscrewsand washersare alreadycounted out andpackedin plasticbags.
•Securethetwo lateralstrips on theunit baseframe withthreepaneling screwsforeach
(/Fig.10).
•Installtherear metalroll-downsash inthe unitbaseframe ontheleft andthe right
( /Fig.11);for this,the mountingbracketsmust be installedon theinsideof theframe.
•Attachthecover (K/Fig.11) for thecable routingusingtwo panelingscrews.
Before installing the covers, connect each metal cover to ground;
the connections are provided in the unit and on the cover panels
themselves.

•Installthekick plateson both tablelegs andfastenthem together(Fig. 13).
•Attachthepaneling totheunderside ofthe shockheadsupport (A/Fig.14).
•Inthefront sectionof the baseframe (B/Fig. 14),use black plasticplugs tosealthe two
holesformounting thetransport carriage.

The cable outlet (A/Fig. 16) is set up at the factory for downward cable feed-through.
However, it is possible to route the cables to the back by punching out one of the perfo-
rated openings.
•Routethecable fromthecontrol consoletable tothecontrol cabinet.
•Ifthe Diamentoroptionis present,routethe Diamentorcablefromthe electronicscabinet
totheconsole table.

The two Allen screws in the base of the Multispot have to extend
into the drilled holes of the intermediate plate in the operating
