Basic requirements for installation and operation
Correct, reliable operation of the device requires proper transport, storage, positioning and assembly. The device must be
carefully operated and maintained. Only qualified personnel should install or operate this device.

Note
The matched paired transmitter and sensor shall be mounted together. Please check in the installation that the system
nameplates of transmitter and sensor will have the same system serial number.

Grounding rings are mandatory for MAG 8000 irrigation device operations.
Maximum allowable torques
Gasket hardness should be maximum 75 Shore A.

Remote version
1. Verify that model and serial numbers shown on labels of sensor and transmitter are matched properly.
2. Ensure that cable is safely installed to avoid damage to cable and connectors. Please note the different connector types
for coil and electrodes, both having a minimum radius of 45 mm (1.8 inches); otherwise there is a risk of damaging the
cable. Save dust covers for future use and protection.
3. Ensure connectors are clean.
4. Ensure connectors are fastened securely to achieve a good connection and watertight sealing.
Note
If dirt enters connector ends, use plain water for cleaning. Ensure connector
s are completely dry before making
connections.
NOTICE
Direct burial of remote sensor
The use of at least 300 mm pea gravel around the sensor and metal plate on top is mandatory for direct burial of remote
sensor.

Sealing of transmitter
1. Select the proper gland size to fit installed cable size.
2. Mount O-ring properly and correctly and grease with gel.
3. Fill Sylgard potting kit in bottom part of casing.
4. Renew Silicagel bag to prevent condensation within transmitter, if necessary.
5. Mount the enclosure carefully and make sure not to damage the O-ring.
The self-calibration of the capacitive operation key will take 3 to 5 minutes once the MAG 8000 transmitter enclosure is
removed and mounted again. During this self-calibration the device cannot be operated via the operation key.
CAUTION
Maintain IP rating when mounting
The mains or line powered PUR cable (no shield) has to be mounted under the cable clamps. All cable glands have to be
sufficiently tightened to ensure the IP rating.
