120 VAC Transient Protector (Optional)
OPERATION
The CERBERUS PYROTRONICSTM Model
CP2341 Transient Protector is recommended for
those applications of MXL, MXL-IQ, and IXL that
are susceptible to severe lightning transients.
Model CP2341 provides extra protection to the
basic protection that is provided in both systems
and not instead of the basic protection. It is
intended for use on 120 VAC power lines.
In the unlikely event that an overload destroys
the CP2341, the module does not pass power to
the fire alarm control panel, and immediate
replacement of the module is then required for
continued operation of the fire alarm panel.
INSTALLATION
1. See Figure 1 for mounting hole locations.
2. Locate the unit within enclosure next to the
AC input.
Electrical Connections
1. See Figure 2 for wiring terminals.
2. Connect the 120 VAC power source to the
two outside screw terminals labeled LINE
and NEUTRAL. Connect the hot side of 120
VAC to the LINE terminal. (See Figures 3
and 4.)
3. Connect the fire alarm control panel to the
two inside screw terminals marked LOAD
and NEUTRAL. (See Figures 3 and 4.)
