概要
AXSメモリーカードリーダー AXS-AR3は、ThunderboltTM 3対応により、
AXSメモリーカードに記録されたデータを高速転送するものです。
ThunderboltTM 3のデイジーチェーン接続に対応していますので、本機を複
数台デイジーチェーン接続することで、複数のカードから高速でデータを転
送することが可能です。
使用上のご注意
ˎ本機を正しく動作させるために、ユーティリティソフトウェアは必ずインストー
ルしてください。
ˎAXSメモリーカードにアクセスしているときは、アクセスランプが青く点灯しま
す。このときは、絶対に以下の行為をしないでください。コンピューターやメモ
リーカードの中のデータが壊れる恐れがあります。
 接続ケーブルやACアダプターのケーブルを抜く。
 コンピューターの電源を切る。
 メモリーカードを抜く。
ˎ接続ケーブルを抜くときは、コネクター部分を持ってください。
ˎ本機についた汚れは柔らかい布で乾拭きしてください。ベンジン、アルコール、
シンナーなどは絶対に使用しないでください。本機が変形するなどの、故障の
原因になります。
ˎAXSメモリーカードの不具合などによって、記録・再生が正しく行われなかった
場合、記録内容については保証いたしません。
ˎ本機にAXSメモリーカードを挿入した状態で、ライトプロテクトスイッチを操作
しないでください。
ˎ本機を接続したまま以下の操作をすると、正常に動作しないことがあります。操
作する場合は、本機をコンピューターから取り外してから行ってください。
 コンピューターを起動、または再起動する。
 スリープや休止状態に移行、または復元させる。
ACアダプターについてのご注意
ˎACアダプターはお手近なコンセントを使用してください。本機をご使用中、不
具合が生じたときはすぐにプラグをコンセントから抜き、電源を遮断してくださ
い。
ˎACアダプターを壁との隙間などの狭い場所に設置しないでください。

 アクセスランプ
ランプ スロットの状態
消灯 ˎメモリーカードが挿入されていないときや、認識できない状
態。
ˎ安全な取り外しがされて、メモリーカードを抜いてもよい状
態。
点灯（緑） スタンバイ状態。
点灯（青） メモリーカードにアクセス中の状態。絶対にカードを抜かな
いでください。
点滅（黄） ˎ低速点滅（1 Hz）：アラーム表示
AXSメモリーカードのデータの取得に失敗しました。
→ AXSメモリーカードを抜き差ししてください。
ˎ高速点滅（4 Hz）：エラー表示
機器とAXSメモリーカードまたは接続相手との通信で、エラー
が発生しました。
→ Thunderboltケーブルをまっすぐに差しなおしてくだ
さい。
点滅（赤） ˎ低速点滅（1 Hz）：アラーム表示
機器が正常な起動に失敗したため、バックアップモードで起動
しました。
→ Thunderboltケーブルをまっすぐに差しなおしてくだ
さい。
ˎ高速点滅（4 Hz）：エラー表示
機器内部の高温状態が続いている状態、またはファンの故障を
検出しました。一定時間内に内部温度が基準値まで低下しな
い場合、機器が自動的に電源を遮断します。
→ 使用環境の温度や、内部ファンの故障を確認してくださ
い。
点灯（白） 本機にACアダプターとThunderboltケーブルを接続した際
に、白色に点灯します。約3秒後に消灯、または他の色が点灯
/点滅します。
→ 白色が点灯しない場合、または白色点灯が終了しない場合
は、Thunderboltケーブルをまっすぐに差しなおしてくだ
さい。
低速点滅
（白）
本機が省電力デバイスに設定されています。メモリーカード
が認識できない場合は、Thunderboltケーブルを差しなお
す、またはユーティリティソフトウェアの更新機能を使用し
てください。

注意
Thunderboltケーブルをご使用の際は、輻射ノイズによる誤動作を防ぐため、
同梱されているケーブルを使用してください。

本機の操作
コンピューターに接続する
1. ACアダプターと電源コードを接続し、本機のDC IN 19.5V端子にACアダ
プターを接続する。
2. Thunderboltケーブルの一方の端子を本機のThunderboltTM 3端子に接
続し、もう一方の端子をコンピューターのThunderboltTM 3端子に接続す
る。
ご注意
ˎコンピューターへの接続は、同梱されているThunderbolt™ 3の認証を受けた
ケーブルを必ずご使用ください。
ˎ推奨環境のすべてのコンピューターについて、動作を保証するものではありま
せん。
デイジーチェーン接続について
本機はデイジーチェーン接続が可能です。本機を含め6台の機器をコンピュー
ターにデイジーチェーン接続できます。
ご注意
すべての機器の動作を保証するものではありません。
AXSメモリーカードを装着する
メモリーカードの向きに注意し、メモリーカードを奥まで挿入する。
→ 本機がコンピューター上で認識されます。
AXSメモリーカードを取り出す
macOS：AXSメモリーカードのディスクアイコンを「ゴミ箱」に移動させる。
Windows 10：タスクバーの通知領域に表示されている「ハードウェアを安
全に取り外してメディアを取り出す」アイコンをクリックし、「AXS-XXXXの
取り出し」をクリックする。
→ AXSメモリーカードの場合は、アクセスランプが消灯したのを確認して、メ
モリーカードを取り出してください。

トラブル時の対処

Overview
The AXS-AR3 AXS Memory Card Reader supports ThunderboltTM 3 for
high-speed transfer of data stored on AXS memory cards.
It also supports ThunderboltTM 3 daisy chain connections for connecting
multiple units to achieve high-speed data transfer from multiple cards.
Precautions on use
ˎAlways install the utility software in order to operate the unit correctly.
ˎThe access lamp lights blue when an AXS memory card is being
accessed. Observe the following while the access lamp is lit blue.
Not doing so may damage the data stored on the computer or the
memory card. Do not:
ē disconnect the connection cable or AC adaptor cable
ē turn off the computer
ē remove the memory card
ˎWhen disconnecting the connection cable, always grasp it by its
connector.
ˎUse a soft, dry cloth to clean the unit. Never use benzene, alcohol,
thinner, or other solvents. Doing so may result in deformation or
malfunction of the unit.
ˎSony accepts absolutely no responsibility for problems in data
recorded or played if AXS memory cards are used incorrectly.
ˎDo not engage the write-protect switch with the AXS memory card
inserted into the unit.
ˎIf this unit is connected to the computer in the following situations, the
unit may not operate correctly. Disconnect the unit from the computer
before doing these operations.
ē When you start or restart the computer.
ē When the computer enters sleep or hibernation, or restored from
either.
Notes on the AC adaptor
ˎConnect the AC adaptor to any nearby wall outlet. If trouble occurs
while using the unit, disconnect the power plug from the wall outlet
immediately.
ˎDo not place the AC adaptor in narrow spaces during use (e.g.,
between a wall and piece of furniture).

be recognized.
ˎMemory cards can be safely removed.

Lit blue Accessing the memory card. Do not remove the memory
card.

ˎFlashing slowly (1 Hz): Alarm indicator
Failed to acquire data from the AXS memory card.
→Eject and reinsert the AXS memory card.
ˎFlashing rapidly (4 Hz): Error indicator
An error occurred in communication between the unit
and AXS memory card or connected device.
→Reconnect the Thunderbolt cable, inserting it
straight.
Flashing red ˎFlashing slowly (1 Hz): Alarm indicator
Device started up in backup mode because the device
failed to start normally.
→Reconnect the Thunderbolt cable, inserting it
straight.
ˎFlashing rapidly (4 Hz): Error indicator
Detected a persistent high temperature condition
within the device, or failure of the fan. Device will
automatically be turned off if the internal temperature
does not decrease to the reference value within a
certain period of time.
→Check the ambient temperature and check for failure
of the internal fan.
Lit white Lamp lights white when the AC adaptor and Thunderbolt
cable are connected to the unit. The lamp then turns off
or changes color after approximately three seconds.
→If the lamp does not light white or stays lit white,
reconnect the Thunderbolt cable, inserting it straight.
Flashing
white
slowly
The unit is set as a power-saving device. If a memory
card cannot be recognized, disconnect and reconnect
the Thunderbolt cable or use the update function of the
utility software.

CAUTION
When you connect the Thunderbolt cable of the unit to peripheral
device, use the supplied cable to prevent malfunction due to radiation
noise.

Operation of the unit
Connecting to a computer
1. Connect the AC adaptor and power cord, and connect the AC
adaptor to the DC IN 19.5V terminal of the unit.
2. Connect the connector on one end of the Thunderbolt cable to the
ThunderboltTM 3 terminal of the unit, and the connector on the other
end to a ThunderboltTM 3 terminal of the computer.
Notes
ˎAlways use the supplied Thunderbolt™ 3 certified cable to connect the
unit to your computer.
ˎCorrect operation on all computers under recommended conditions is
not guaranteed.
About daisy chain connection
The unit supports daisy chain connections. Up to six devices, including
the unit, can be connected in daisy chain to the computer.
Note
Correct operation of all devices is not guaranteed.
Inserting an AXS memory card
Orient the memory card correctly, and fully insert it into the unit.
→The unit is mounted on the computer.
Ejecting an AXS memory card
macOS: Move the disk icon of the AXS memory card to the Trash.
Windows 10: Click the “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media” icon
displayed in the notification area of the taskbar, and click “Eject AXS-
XXXX”.
→For AXS memory cards, check that the access lamp is off, and then
remove the memory card.
For details, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the
computer/OS.
Troubleshooting
Symptom Solution
The removable
disk icon is not
displayed.
ˎCheck that the unit is connected correctly.
ˎCheck that there are not six or more devices, in
addition to the unit, connected in daisy chain to
the computer.
ˎIn a daisy chain connection, check that the
devices connected between the unit and the
computer have not failed. If a device has failed,
remove that device.
The AXS memory
card cannot be
accessed in the
Finder or in File
Explorer.
Check that the memory card is inserted correctly,
and that an incompatible card is not inserted.
The access lamp
flashes when an
AXS memory card
is inserted.
Check that there is no dust or dirt adhering to
the AXS memory card or connector. Remove any
foreign matter and insert the memory card again.
The unit does not
operate correctly.
The unit may be affected by static electricity.
Disconnect the power cord and connection cable,
and then reconnect them.

Overview
The AXS-AR3 AXS Memory Card Reader supports ThunderboltTM 3 for
high-speed transfer of data stored on AXS memory cards.
It also supports ThunderboltTM 3 daisy chain connections for connecting
multiple units to achieve high-speed data transfer from multiple cards.
Precautions on use
ˎAlways install the utility software in order to operate the unit correctly.
ˎThe access lamp lights blue when an AXS memory card is being
accessed. Observe the following while the access lamp is lit blue.
Not doing so may damage the data stored on the computer or the
memory card. Do not:
ē disconnect the connection cable or AC adaptor cable
ē turn off the computer
ē remove the memory card
ˎWhen disconnecting the connection cable, always grasp it by its
connector.
ˎUse a soft, dry cloth to clean the unit. Never use benzene, alcohol,
thinner, or other solvents. Doing so may result in deformation or
malfunction of the unit.
ˎSony accepts absolutely no responsibility for problems in data
recorded or played if AXS memory cards are used incorrectly.
ˎDo not engage the write-protect switch with the AXS memory card
inserted into the unit.
ˎIf this unit is connected to the computer in the following situations, the
unit may not operate correctly. Disconnect the unit from the computer
before doing these operations.
ē When you start or restart the computer.
ē When the computer enters sleep or hibernation, or restored from
either.
Notes on the AC adaptor
ˎConnect the AC adaptor to any nearby wall outlet. If trouble occurs
while using the unit, disconnect the power plug from the wall outlet
immediately.
ˎDo not place the AC adaptor in narrow spaces during use (e.g.,
between a wall and piece of furniture).

→Reconnect the Thunderbolt cable, inserting it
straight.
Flashing red ˎFlashing slowly (1 Hz): Alarm indicator
Device started up in backup mode because the device
failed to start normally.
→Reconnect the Thunderbolt cable, inserting it
straight.
ˎFlashing rapidly (4 Hz): Error indicator
Detected a persistent high temperature condition
within the device, or failure of the fan. Device will
automatically be turned off if the internal temperature
does not decrease to the reference value within a
certain period of time.
→Check the ambient temperature and check for failure
of the internal fan.
Lit white Lamp lights white when the AC adaptor and Thunderbolt
cable are connected to the unit. The lamp then turns off
or changes color after approximately three seconds.
→If the lamp does not light white or stays lit white,
reconnect the Thunderbolt cable, inserting it straight.

The unit is set as a power-saving device. If a memory
card cannot be recognized, disconnect and reconnect
the Thunderbolt cable or use the update function of the
utility software.

CAUTION
When you connect the Thunderbolt cable of the unit to peripheral
device, use the supplied cable to prevent malfunction due to radiation
noise.

Operation of the unit
Connecting to a computer
1. Connect the AC adaptor and power cord, and connect the AC
adaptor to the DC IN 19.5V terminal of the unit.
2. Connect the connector on one end of the Thunderbolt cable to the
ThunderboltTM 3 terminal of the unit, and the connector on the other
end to a ThunderboltTM 3 terminal of the computer.
Notes
ˎAlways use the supplied Thunderbolt™ 3 certified cable to connect the
unit to your computer.
ˎCorrect operation on all computers under recommended conditions is
not guaranteed.
About daisy chain connection
The unit supports daisy chain connections. Up to six devices, including
the unit, can be connected in daisy chain to the computer.
Note
Correct operation of all devices is not guaranteed.
Inserting an AXS memory card
Orient the memory card correctly, and fully insert it into the unit.
→The unit is mounted on the computer.
Ejecting an AXS memory card
macOS: Move the disk icon of the AXS memory card to the Trash.
Windows 10: Click the “Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media” icon
displayed in the notification area of the taskbar, and click “Eject AXS-
XXXX”.
→For AXS memory cards, check that the access lamp is off, and then
remove the memory card.
For details, refer to the operating instructions supplied with the
computer/OS.
Troubleshooting
Symptom Solution
The removable

ˎCheck that the unit is connected correctly.
ˎCheck that there are not six or more devices, in
addition to the unit, connected in daisy chain to
