Do not move the TV using the Bravia Input Link as a
handle.
AC power cord
If you damage the AC power cord. it may result in afire
or
an electric shock. If the AC power cord is damaged.
stop using
it and ask your dealer or Sony service center
to exchange it.

Do not place the Bravia Input Link where the power
cord is subject to wear or abuse.
•Do not pinch. bend.
or twist the cord excessively. The
core lines may be bared and cut. and cause ashort-
circuit. resulting

Wiring
For your safety. unplug the AC power cord when wiring
cables.
Cable wiring
Take care when routing the cables so that they do not
become entangled and catch on your feet
or hands. It
may damage the Bravia Input Link.
Electric shock
Do not touch the A( power cord or the Bravia Input Link
with awet hand. If \

from the Bravia Illput Link
or TV with awet hand. it
may cause electric shllck.
Lightning
For added protection for this Bravia Input Link during a
lightning storm. or when it is left unattended and unused
for long periods
of time. unplug it from the wall outlet
and disconnect the antenna. This will prevent damage
to
the BRAVIA Input Link or TV due to lightning and
power line surges.
CLEANING
•Clean the AC power plug regularly.
If the plug is covered with dust and
it picks up
moisture. its insulation may deteriorate and result in a
fire. Unplug the AC power plug and clean
it regularly.
•Unplug the AC power cord when cleaning this Bravia
Input Link. If not. it may result
in electric shock.
•Clean the cabinet
of the Bravia Input Link with adry
soft cloth. To remove dust. wipe
it gently with asoft
cloth. Stubborn stains may be removed with acloth
slightly dampened with asolution
of mild soap and
warm water. Never use strong solvents such as thinner
or benzine for cleaning.
•If using achemically pretreated cloth. please follow the
instruction provided on the package.
MOISTURE
Moisture and flammable objects
•Do not use power-line operated sets near water -for
example. near abathtub. washbowl. kitchen sink.
or
laundry tub. in awet basement, or near aswimming
pool. etc. It may result
in afire or an electric shock.
•Do not let this Bravia Input Link get wet. Never spill
liquid
of any kind on the Bravia Input Link. If any
liquid
or solid (Inject does fall through. lIo not operate

immediately by qualified personnel.

SERVICING
Damage requiring service
If the surface of the Bravia Input Link or AC adapter
cracks, do not touch the Bravia Input Link until you
unplug the AC power cord.
Do not attempt to service the Bravia Input Link
or AC
Adapter yourself since opening the cabinet
may expose
you to dangerous voltage
or other hazards. Refer all
servicing to qualified service personnel.
ACCESSORIES
Keep small accessories out of children's reach. Use only
the specified accessories with this product.

•Use HOM Icables that bears the HOM Ilogo certified
with
HDMI Licensing LLC for connection.
•Sony HDMI cables are recommended.
•
Wh~tl watching I080p resolution picture or Deep Color
picture, aHIGH SPEED HOM Icable (cable certified
with HDMI Version 1.3 as "category
2") is
recommended.
•DVI-to-HDMI cable
is not recommende. If you connect
the DVI-D device using aDVI-to-HDMI cable:

Thank you for purchasing the BRAVIA Input Link,
OMX-SW I. This product allows you to expand the
number
of HOMI ports on your Sony BRAVIA TV
Using your TV remote control, you can select and view
external equipment through your
TV's input menu.

Attaching to theTV
When the cable connection is completed, attach the
BRAVIA Input Link unit to the back
of your TV
a) Find the attachment location. There are guide pin
holes on the back
of your TV The guide pins on the
attachment bracket (supplied) should fit into these
holes.
b) Secure the attachment bracket to the back
of your
TV with the plastic fasteners (supplied). Do not push
the head
of the plastic fastener until you have
inserted the plastic fastener into the hole on the TV,
then press
in the head of the fastener until it clicks.
c) Align the grooves on the bottom
of the unit with
groove
of the installation bracket.
d) Gently slide the switcher unit into place.

To remove the bracket, use aPhillips screwdriver (not
supplied) to loosen plastic fasteners.

To begin. the Control for HOMI function of your TV must be set

Equipment with Control for HOMI
The Bravia Input Link is compatible with equipment that supports
Control for HOMI. The Control for HOMI function allows
communication between the equipment that supports this function
and your
TV. When Control for HOMI is properly configured,
your TV will display the equipment's pre-assigned name as shown
here (Fig.
4-1 and Fig. 4-2).

Standard HOMIequipment
Equipment without Control for HOMI
For standard HOMI equipment (without the Control for HOMI
function), the Bravia Input Link will act as a
Control for HOMI
proxy and the standard HOMI equipment will be labeled
according to the input number on the Bravia Input Link (e.g. Input
Link
2) as shown here (Fig.4-3 and Fig. 4-4). You will be able to
select the input but not control with these devices.

You may categorize your connected equipment with pre-
assigned Bravia Input Link categories to organize your
External Inputs menu.
Input I or 2are pre-assigned to display "Recorder" and
you can connect your DVD-Recorder. DVRs etc.
Inputs 3 or 4 are pre-assigned to display "Player" and
you can connect your Blu-ray. DVD. Game Consoles etc.
Input 5is pre-assigned to display "Tuner" and you can
connect your Cable or Satellite boxes.

You may disregard the categories and connect any
equipment to any of the HDMI inputs.
bImportant Note
Some TV models may require updating the "Device List"
or "Update Control for HDMI List" (depending on your
menu type) under the Settings. when HDMI input has
been connected or disconnected; refer to your TV's
operating instructions.
Troubleshooting
Most of the problems can be resolved by:
•Setting the Control for HDMI setting on your TV to
"On"
and/or
•Reconnecting the cables and making sure that both ends are
properly connected into the ports.
This unit does not turn on.
The AC power adaptor is disconnected from the wall
outlet,
or from the power input of this unit.
-+ Connect the AC power adaptor to awall outlet securely.
and connect its plug to DC
IN 9V jack of this unit
securely.
-+ Make sure the Control for HDMI setting on your TV is
turned on.
No picture/No sound*.
•The HDMI output of aplayback device is not connected to
the HDMI input
of this unit properly.
-+ Check the connection again.
•The HDMI output
of this unit is not connected to the
HOM! input of aTV properly.
-+ Check the connection again.
•When using aTV equipped with input select, the correct
input
is not selected.
-+ Select the correct input from the External Inputs list.
The External Inputs list can be found on the XMB,,, or
on the Panel Menu depending on your
TV's menu type.
•The connected device is not compatible with
Highbandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP).
-+ Use adevice compatible with HDCP. For details, refer
to the operating instructions supplied with the device.
•The HDMI output signal format
of the playback device
does not correspond with the HDMI input signal format
of
the TV.
-+ Make sure that signal format of the connected device(s)
corresponds. For details. refer to the operating
instructions supplied with each device.
•This unit
is connected to DVI devices.
-+ Connection to DVI devices is not recommended. When
connecting using aDVI adaptor, make sure that the
device is compatible with the DVI adaptor.
-+ When connected to DVI devices, sound is not output.
•Use an HDMI cable that bears the
HDMllogo certified
with HDMI Licensing LLC for connection.
•When watching I080p resolution picture
or Deep Color
picture. use aHIGH SPEED HDMI cable (cable certified
with HDMI Version
1.3 as "category 2").
•Some playback devices may require some settings on the
device. Refer to the operating instructions supplied with the
device.
Poor picture or sound*.
Connection with HDMI cable is not secured.
-+ Connect the plug of the connecting cord securely.
The control function using the extended feature
by HOMI (BRAVIA Theatre Sync, etc.) is not
available*.
•This unit is not turned on. or the connected device is not
selected.
-+ Before using the function, turn on this unit and switch
the input
of this unit to the desired device.
-+ Make sure your connecting equipment is turned on
with Control for HDMI enabled.
•The connected device is not compatible with the function.
-+ To use the function, the device connected to the input
of this unit must be compatible with the function. Make
sure your connecting equipment is turned on with
Control for HDMI enabled. Refer to the operating
instructions.
*If above remedies do not solve the problem, connect the
devices directly to your TV and check
if they operate
properly.

Setting up your BRAVIA Input Link

Perform this setup when:
•
You connect your BRAVIA Input Link for the first time
•
If the power is lost or disconnected from your TV or BRAVIA Input Link
•
You connect new equipment or switch HOMI inputs on the BRAVIA
Input Link
•
You move the BRAVIA Input Link to adifferent HOMI IN on the TV
Before Beginning
1. Power on all HOMI equipment.
2. Power on the TV.
3. Connect the BRAVIA Input Link's HOMI OUT to any of the TV's HOMI IN using
the supplied HOMI cable.
4. Connect all HOMI equipment to the BRAVIA Input Link.
5. Connect AC Adapter with AC cord from wall to the OC IN on the BRAVIA Input
Link.
6. Wait 90 seconds for the BRAVIA Input Link and all equipment to connect with
the
TV.

Initial Setup
Before beginning these steps, make sure that Control for HOMI is enabled on
your TV. See your TV's Operating Instructions for more details.
Repeat steps 1-3 below for all connected equipment
1. Press HOME/MENU on the TV's remote control.
2. Press +/+/+/+ to navigate to the External Inputs menu. (As shown in figures
1and
2)
3. Highlight and select the equipment with the Input Link label from the list
(ex: Select Input Link 1. for adevice connected to HOMI IN 1).

When connecting new equipment only perform Steps 1-3 for that equipment.
Completing Initial Setup
Update the Control for HOMI list to complete the setup.

3. Press. to Enable or Update the device
list and exit the menu.
Once the list
is updated, the "Input Link" label will be removed for equipment that
support Control for HOMI and only the pre-assigned labels are displayed (e.g.
OVO, SO, etc).

Consumer 1 Year Warranty
Sony of Canada Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sony")
hereby warrants, subject to the terms and conditions
herein set forth, this product against defect in material
and workmanship during the specified warranty period. In
the event of a defect of material or workmanship during
the specified warranty period, Sony will repair the same,
effecting all necessary parts replacements with either new
or refurbished parts, without charge for either parts or
labour.
The warranty period is as follows:
1. Labour: ONE year from the date of original purchase at
retail.
2. Parts: ONE year from the date of original purchase at
retail. Exception: projector lamps are covered for 90 days
from the date of original purchase at retail.
3. Commercial Use or Rental: 90 days from the date of
original purchase at retail.
Conditions
Unauthorized Modification, Repair, Abuse, Etc.:
This limited warranty is void if: (i) the unit has been
previously altered, modified, installed or mounted for
commercial use, repaired or serviced by anyone other
than the service facilities authorized by Sony to render
such services, (ii) the serial number on the unit has been
altered or removed, or (iii) the unit has been subject to
accident, misuse, abuse or operated contrary to the
instructions contained in the Owner's Manual. The
opinion of Sony with respect to this matter shall be final.
Commercial Use or Rental:
This product is not intended for commercial use or rental.
Should this unit be used at any time for commercial
purposes or as a rental unit, the limited warranty period
for parts and labour shall be 90 days from the date of
original purchase at retail. The opinion of Sony with
respect to this matter shall be final.
Exclusions:
This limited warranty does not extend to broken or
damaged cabinets, accessories, batteries, exposed
antennas and styluses, or to parts wearing out due to
normal wear and tear. This limited warranty does not
cover regular product maintenance such as cleaning,
lubrication or check-Ups.
This limited warranty is valid only in Canada.
Delivery:
The unit must be delivered in person to one of the nearest
Sony service facilities in Canada, or shipped, freight
prepaid, in either its original package or similar package
affording an equal degree of protection and with
instructions indicating a location within Canada to which
the unit must be returned. If shipped to the service
facility, the repaired unit will be returned to customer
freight prepaid. All accessories that are enclosed with the
unit must be listed indiVidually on the packing slip for the
shipping documentation. Sony shall have no liability
whatsoever for loss or damage of items shipped to the
service facilities. Defective accessories should be
returned to Sony as a separate repair item.
Limited On Site Service:
Sony will provide on site warranty service for Direct-View
Television (27 inch and above), LCD TV (33 inch and
above) and Projection TV only, as follows. This on site
service only applies to customers residing within a 50km
radius of an authorized Sony service facility, whose
residence can be accessed by an on-road service vehicle.

reserve des modalites et conditions indiquees aux
presentes, garantit Ie present produit contre tout detaut

La presente garantie limitee est nulle si : (i) I'unite avait
ete anterieurement alteree, modifiee, installee ou montee
pour usage commercial, reparee ou entretenue par
quiconque autre que les centres de reparation dGment
autorises par Sonya dispenser de tels services, (ii) Ie
numero de serie de I'unite a ete modifie ou enleve, ou (iii)
I'unite a ete accidentee, a fait I'objet d'un mauvais usage
ou d'un abus ou d'une utilisation en contravention des
instructions contenues dans Ie guide d'utilisation.
L'opinion de Sony en la matiere est definitive.
Usage commercial ou location
Le present produit n'est pas destine a I'usage commercial
ou a la location. Si I'unite est utilisee a tout moment a des
fins commerciales ou locatives, la periode de garantie
limitee couvrant les pieces et la main-d'muvre sera de 90
iours a compter de la date d'achat originelle au detail.

Exclusions
La presente garantie limitee ne s'applique pas aux
cabinets, accessoires ou piles casses ou endommages; ni
aux antennes et stylets exposes, ou aux pieces
detectueuses par usure normale. La presente garantie
Iimitee exclut I'entretien normal des produits, tel que Ie
nettoyage, la lubrification ou les verifications.
La presente garantie n'est valide qu'au Canada.
Livraison
L'unite doit etre expediee, fret paye au depart, ou livree a
I'une des installations de service Sony les plus
rapprochees au Canada soit dans son emballage d'origine,
soit dans un emballage similaire off rant un degre de
protection comparable, et accompagnee d'instructions
indiquant I'endroit au Canada ou I'unite doit etre retournee.
Si expediee au centre de reparation, I'unite reparee do it
etre retournee au client avec fret paye au depart. Tous les

(33 po et pius) et des televiseurs a projection seulement,
selon les modalites suivantes : Ce service sur place ne
vaut que pour les clients qui habitent dans un rayon de 50
Km des installations de service Sony, et dont la residence
est accessible a un vehicule de service routier.

SONY ELECTRONICS INC. ("SONY") warrants this product against defects in material or workmanship for the time
periods and as set forth below. Pursuant to this Limited Warranty, SONY will, at its option, (i) repair the product using
new or refurbished parts or (ii) replace the product with a new or refurbished product. For purposes of this Limited
Warranty, "refurbished" means a product or part that has been returned to its original specifications In the event of a
defect, these are your exclusive remedies.
Term: For a period of one (1) year from the original date of purchase of the product (or a period of ninety (90) days
for commercial use), SONY will, at its option, repair or replace with new or refurbished product or parts, any product
or parts determined to be defective.
This Limited Warranty covers only the hardware components packaged with the Product. It does not cover technical
assistance for hardware or software usage and it does not cover any software products whether or not contained in
the Product; any such software is provided "AS IS" unless expressly provided for in any enclosed software Limited

Instructions: In-home diagnostic warranty service is provided during the one (1) year limited warranty term (ninety
