SURFLINK MEDIA: SETUP
PRODUCT AVAILABILITY: Z Series, 3 Series wireless, Xino wireless, Wi Series
ENABLING SURFLINK MEDIA IN INSPIRE
1. Launch Inspire 2014.3 or higher.
2. Connect and detect hearing aids to the fitting computer via the
appropriate programming accessories. Refer to the Boots and
Cables Programming Guide available via Inspire Online for additional
information regarding connecting the hearing aids.
3. Select New Session on the Get Started Screen and select Start.
NOTE: Auto Path will default to launching automatically for hearing
aids that have not been previous read by Inspire.
4. Select Accessories on the left navigation bar.
5. Select SurfLink Media under SurfLink Accessories.
6. Select which memories will automatically accept a streamed signal
by selecting the boxes adjacent to the memory name under Media
Streaming AND select Hearing Aid Microphone Setting While
Streaming for each memory if desired.
7. If using Advanced SurfLink Remote Control or SurfLink Mobile along
with SurfLink Media:
»Advanced SurfLink Remote:
-Enter SurfLink Remote Address in Configure SurfLink
Remote Control and select Sync.
-Ensure the Favorite Button is set to Stop/Start Audio Stream.
»SurfLink Mobile:
-Ensure the Favorite Button is set to Stop/Start Audio.
NOTE: Stream Boost defaults ON (Stream Boost is only available
for the Z Series products). Deselect Stream Boost to disable.

Series products to deliver an
automatic and enhanced sound
quality experience to the patient
any time a streamed media input
is detected.

SURFLINK MEDIA POWER AND CABLE CONNECTIONS
1. Insert A/V connection cables into the appropriate jacks on the back of
SurfLink Media:
»Standard: RCA jacks insert in outlet (2) and Power cable insert in
outlet (5).
»Optional: Microphone, S/PDIF, Optical TOSLINK (insert in outlets 1, 3,
and 4).
2. Select the appropriate Monaural/Binaural switch:
»Select monaural if the patient is fit with one hearing aid.
»Select binaural if the patient is fit with two hearing aids.
3. Connect power supply:
»A micro-USB power cable is provided. Insert the micro-USB
connector into the Power port on the SurfLink Media (outlet 5) and
connect the opposite end to a power outlet.
SURFLINK MEDIA USER CONTROLS
1. Select Power (the Power button will illuminate blue when Power is
ON).
2. Adjust the Streaming Activation Range by sliding the blue light left/
right, setting the distance for initiating a streamed signal to the hear-
ing aids.
3. Set the Volume Control of the audio device to a comfortable level.
4. Set the Volume Control of the SurfLink Media to a comfortable level by
sliding the blue light left/right with your finger.
5. Adjust the volume level as needed using the controls on the SurfLink
Media, via SurfLink Remote Control/Mobile, or via the volume controls
of the hearing aid.
